  1. I knew I wanted to be a pilot when I was in HS. Before that I always thought I’d be a doctor - a surgeon like my lolo. Not surprising because most of my family are in the medical field & we have a hospital in SouthCot located just in front of our house. Many people ask me why the big shift from the expected. Honestly, I cannot tell you for sure. When my uncle who is a pilot (& a doctor as well), opened up to me about aviation it made me curious. The more I learn about flying, the more it amazes me. Then I told my self - I’m going to be an airline pilot. This is my calling. Listen to what’s excites you, that’s your passion. • “I will be a pilot someday” an easier said than done kind of thing. The road to where I am today is not at all smooth sailing. Though i recognize some had a more difficult path, I had my fair share of challenges as well. I’m grateful for all the people who helped me reach this goal. It was them who gave me strength. As I learn how to properly take off and land a plane, I also acquired a lot of life lessons — the importance of hard work, discipline and having a good support system. Training to become an aviator made me a better person. • A lot has changed since then. But one of the things that remained constant throughout my journey is that I never for doubted myself. The moment I visualized my dream, I started working on it. I didn’t want to have any regrets, so I put 100% all the time. I believe that if I give my very best & be patient my efforts will eventually pay off.. if ever it won’t work out, then I know there is something greater for me. • To all the aspiring pilots, I sincerely wish you won’t give up on your dream! Right now is not the best time in our industry but please continue to believe in yourself & the timing of your life. Try to do something each day to help you in the future. Read a bit, watch a youtube clip, work out, be healthy.. no matter how small you think it is one day it’ll be useful. Believe that we will all be soaring again soon & when that time comes, I hope to see (or hear) you up there! ☁️

  2. I can’t recall the exact date when I first wore my Type A uniform nor the reason why I had to. In Omni before we just wear casual clothes for our flight training. I think it was on my private pilot license check? What I can clearly remember was the feeling of it. • I respected the uniform from the first time I saw the pilots walking in the airport and got starstruck. I know that for a person to wear it, it requires a lot of hard work and determination. So on my first uniform experience it can’t be avoided that I felt undeserving — i felt that I’m being pretentious. That also brought about a challenge for me to give my best so that one day I can say that this uniform and I are one. • To be honest there was a time that I took this feeling for granted. Working in the airline industry for 4 years made me get used to it. It became an everyday thing that I haven’t really paused and congratulated myself, “Yes Blu. You got your goal from years back. Your pilot uniform became like a second skin.” Like everything else in this world, do it multiple of times in a rush and the magic disappears. • I haven’t been in the sky for two whole months now. The longest I have been grounded in years. I got the chance to wear my uniform for a video shoot and I was just so excited! Times like this made me realize the value of it. To some it may be just clothing, but for me it’s sleepless nights, tears, frustration, contentment, happiness and a dream come true wrapped into one. 👩🏻‍✈️
