  2. Guys, I’m feeling a little heartbroken after seeing this. I saw a man in a wheelchair pushing himself through the rain along the Sea Point promenade. I felt this pull to stop and help. In Judaism, we call it a Mitzvah .. an act of kindness, a good deed. So I asked him where he was heading. He told me he was trying to get to the bus stop by the Pavilion Pools. I remember thinking, “Sho… that’s far.” But at the same time, I knew there was no way I could just leave him there to do it alone.. it would take hours. So I offered to push him all the way. And honestly… it broke me. After 4km, my arms were finished. My whole body was aching. It gave me a completely new level of respect for the people who push loved ones through entire marathons in wheelchairs. I genuinely don’t know how they do it. Meet Sydney. Around 50 years old. Five years ago, he was knocked over by a car in Sea Point. Since then, his life has completely changed. He never received a cent from the Road Accident Fund. Instead, he was left disabled… and homeless. One of his legs has already been amputated, and while we were talking, he told me that on the 21st of May, doctors are amputating his other leg too. He showed me his doctors appointment at Somerset hospital. He doesn’t even have a phone. His bag is falling apart. His rain jacket doesn’t keep the rain out anymore. Everything he owns fits into that wheelchair. But what really got me was his eyes. The way he looked at me when I helped him. Almost like he couldn’t believe someone stopped.Life is so unbelievably hard for some people. Years ago, I started Raising Hope. Together, all of us have raised over R1.2 million to help people in need. Today, I want us to help Sydney. I’ll put the donation link in my bio, and every donation from today will go directly to him. I know where to find him. If anyone wants to drop off clothes, blankets, a proper waterproof jacket, or anything else that could help, send me a DM. You can also usually find him near the bus stop by the Pavilion if you want to help him directly. Thanks for taking the time to read and watch this. ❤️❤️
