I was 6/10 weeks into my first ever @totalsportstwooceansmarathon half marathon training when my ITB flared up and just like that, no running for 8 weeks. 💔 At first, it honestly felt like everything I’d worked for was just gone. Like all those weeks meant nothing. But I had a bit of a mindset shift lately: I’ve been forced to slow down, to actually listen to my body, to regulate my nervous system instead of constantly pushing it. (Big on this!!!) Right now, my focus is just on what I CAN control: ✨showing up to physio ✨doing my rehab ✨foam rolling (even when I don’t feel like it) ✨being patient with my body I want to be able to run for many more years and seasons of my life, so the main goal is longevity and building a stronger body. 🧡 #runner #mobility #girl #injury

  3. MID-RUN CRASH OUT 🏃🏽‍♀️💥 Honestly this was my toughest long run yet 😔. From the very first km I wanted to turn back ☹️. I even told myself, “If my marathon feels like this, I’m quitting running 🤣🤣.” Maybe my energy dipped because I skipped my beloved potatoes last night 🥔 (let’s blame it on that). But I stuck it out and hit the distance I planned 🙌🏽. I’m now writing this from bed after some post-run yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️, about to nap 😆 — exactly what I wanted to do at km 20! Every run has a lesson: sometimes your mind and body sync perfectly, other times you have to power through with just one.
