Last year I had the very good fortune to meet Barb Paldus who told me about her vision for a global collective of clean beauty brands inspired by both science & herbal traditions called Codex Beauty. I agreed to sell Bia Beauty to Barb and join the Codex collective. What a crazy year it has been! I am now the Managing Director of Codex Beauty Europe & Master Formulator for the Bia range. We have worked so hard over the last year to truly elevate the Bia range, featuring native Irish ingredients, working directly with growers here in Ireland. We are organically certified and working on a whole range of certification from EWG to Leaping Bunny. But the most exciting part has been sending our products for clinical trials. Real clinical trials with significant numbers of subjects over 84 days and with real scientific measurements. The results are outstanding and I can't wait to share more with you all. But for now, this is where Bia has gone, for those of you wondering why we have been so quiet. We are now happily part of the Codex Beauty collective, where we get to work with a team of experts that Barb has gathered from across the globe. And we are going to be creating some exceptional clean beauty products!! Last week we launched in New York and LA & next week we launch in London & Dublin.   3. Today is World Autism Awareness Day! 💙 I just wanted to say how very proud I am of my daughter Emily. My grandson Kai has been such a little warrior in how he deals with his day to day life. If you haven't been around a child with Autism you won't know how incredibly hard it is to make sure all their needs are met. Kai is the most loving person you could meet, and we love him dearly.   3. 🤎 Review of Cinnamon Rolls by @theodoroskalotinisperfumer 🤎 Cinnamon Rolls features notes of cinnamon, sugar, butter, vanilla glaze, Greek cookies and sweet dough. I have many happy childhood Christmas time memories that hinge around the sweet and uplifting aroma of cinnamon. My grandma, who died just two months ago, was an avid baker and many times I remember watching and helping her bake as the familiar and comforting waft of cinnamon would fill her kitchen. She loved a scented candle too and I remember the deep orange red colour of her favourite ones, which were always a warm cinnamon. To me, this fragrance, Cinnamon Rolls is happiness, contentment, excitement for the upcoming Christmas festivities, and most importantly, it is love. To describe it from an aroma point of view, quite simply, it is a gourmand lover's dream. It opens with the scent of a fresh dusting of high quality cinnamon powder combined with a heavenly, buttery sweet pastry vibe. The cinnamon continues to remain to the forefront...meanwhile I begin to experience the beautiful smell of a vanilla style frosting. It reminds me exactly of the glazed kind that has hardened atop the bun but is soft once it is bitten into and enjoyed. It is amazing! If you love a true patisserie/baking style of cinnamon in perfumery, this fragrance is sure to wow you! It projects moderately and lasts for up to about 6 hours for me but that beautiful cinnamon remains close to the skin for even longer. And even though it is certainly sweet, I do not find it to be in any way cloying. This was my first perfume to try from Greek perfumer, Theodoros Kalotinis, and I am truly so impressed by the high quality at such excellent prices. Have a beautiful smelling day!
