  3. There's nothing quite like the Dublin Marathon. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's like Christmas Day for runners.  There's nothing like the smiles, the high fives, fist pumps, and the "I think I'm going too fast"s. The city turns into a beam of positivity, of joy and encouragement, for everyone we've witnessed counting down the days to this one. For the runners, a giant lap of victory to celebrate all the early mornings, missed nights out, the "head out and see how you goes." The ankle twists, the tight hips, the "should my body feel like this?" It's done now. In the bag. An achievement to be proud of every day of your life.  Normally, I (@missshesgotknits 👋) would take some snaps of the day, and that's that. But this year, I wanted to capture how I see races all the time, with Andrew encouraging so many people along the way. I'm just in awe of this man. He works harder than anyone I've ever met and cares so passionately about every single person he coaches.  He lives and breathes each person's challenges and successes and to see him run around like a maniac yesterday, then come home to send photos, voice notes, make calls, and check up on everyone individually is what I've come to expect but always admire.  For me, seeing the faces on the day of all the people I've shared Sunday mornings, trail runs, races abroad, late night panicked group whatsapps (mainly about parking), Strava kidos's and all the coffees in between, just made my heart burst. I can't tell you how many times I've cried happy tears for everyone I know who took part this weekend. Watching them through ups and downs to get to the big day has been a privilege. It's been an absolute ball. A disco damhsa. I couldn't be prouder...  Congratulations, everyone. I hope you're resting up today. Thanks for making the marathon incredible again this year. But as you'll soon likely hear, Andrew says, 'Well, what are we doing next?'.

  1. The hardest thing I’ll ever share! Because yes I am embarrassed, sad and angry that I let myself get to this level of self hatred, sadness, anger and size! Totally abusing my body with food, constantly punishing myself for being unhealthy by being even worse!! It’s a vicious cycle and so many can resonate with that! Yes I took a different route for weight loss one which many don’t agree with, but it wasn’t for lack of trying it all, and mentally I just couldn’t do it any longer. When you finally break your 6 year old 1500m PB 😭😭 My outdoor PB has been hanging over me since 2019 (!) and I honestly wondered if I’d ever get back to 4.14 so to get the win and a PB at @irishmilersclub was so so nice 💞💞 Backed myself from the start of the race (which can be hard after a few meh years) and thought if I die, I die but at least I can say I tried and thankfully it paid off as you can see from the expressions in the pics lol.   3. My cousin, my first coach and the person who guided me through all the ups and downs of athletics for ten years. From the highs like national titles and Irish teams to the lows like injuries and underperforming, Ann was there through it all - always optimistic and filled with so much belief. We had a great group at Emerald AC where she coached along with Henry and always managed to make training fun. She was quirky, cool, funny and always held us to a high standard. She wanted the absolute best for everyone. What a gift it was to have been coached by her and share so many amazing memories together. Taken way too soon RIP Ann 🤍

  1. This time last year I was preparing for my first ‘proper’ marathon. My goal was 3:15 🎯 The first photo shows the pure ecstasy that overcame me when I surprised my self for real. That feeling … the best I’ve ever experienced. Putting your mind to something, putting in a graft even on days you didn’t want to and it all just clicking and coming together to give you this insane delayed gratification effect is tops🥇 Running and the running content really took off for me after DCM 2024 - I found this new community and new obsession with self improvement, competition with oneself and joy of just sharing my joy of the activity I loved online with others who appreciated it, shared their passions too and just liked the buzz of a few reels / stories📱 With DCM 2025 in 7 days I’m reflecting on the past year, which has absolutely flown by, the progression in running I’ve made, the changes in my personal life that have happened, the new friends I’ve made, the progress with business I’ve made and the coming and going of countless events, opportunities, experiences and once in a life time trips I’ve been on. It’s class. It’s beautiful. Its magic. Running has been so central to this past 358 days … it’s been an activity I’ve enjoyed daily, for the most part and it’s an activity that has brought me so many cool things, podcasts, working with brands, meeting people I’d have never met outside of running. It just blows me away 💨 how much of an impact it’s had. I feel incredibly lucky 🍀 I’ve been off the feet the last 2 weeks with a hip injury, I’m giving it a few more days to settle, I can’t lie it’s affecting me, I’m worried about Dublin, Valencia, I miss running, I hate the thought of losing fitness that was worked so hard for. But, I’m not the only one, I’m sure numerous people reading this are in the same boat and if it’s you. Then … I feel ya. It’s shite 💩 but. We’ll get better, we’ll heal, we’ll get fit again, there’s always another race. F IT.   2. @runnershighdublin x @lululemoneurope 🍒 I held off starting run club in Dublin for so long, which didn’t make sense to a lot of people (mainly my mom lol) because I live here and I don’t live in London, where I started @runnershighlondon !! but there was something holding me back with starting one here … I think I felt like since I knew very few people in London, I would be less scared to throw myself into the deep end 👀 this comes from my inner teenager who was SCARED of putting herself out there (she still rears her head sometimes) when I initially asked who would come to our first dublin run club, 80 of you said yes. so when 250 tickets sold out in less than 24 hours, you can imagine my shock (and panic lol). A quick update Thanks to everyone for the messages over the last few days I haven’t even begun to get though them but I will for sure This was an incredible race, Merijn is a worthy winner, a very humble guy and I wish him all the success he gets from this… we broke the world record by 5 hours and tbh if I did not return on loop 90 we would still be out there,, I gave it everything to which I am proud of.:.   3. The back yard ultra world championships 2023 Since the race has finished I’ve been trying to figure out what happened, yes I got to 74 hours and with how I was feeling I was so happy with that. I do question why I felt like that? How can I change it? It’s the want to learn so we are planning for 2025 already… I had qualified for this race from the race in Rettart Germany running 89 hours and being the assist… I have waited for bigs for 2 years as the last time I was meant to go we couldn’t get visas due to covid. We were all set to go, Annabelle was crewing for me back then too, she generously contacted me to see if I needed a crew. This time I wanted to give her first refusal on crewing,, she was delighted to do it. We spoke on the phone a few times on the lead up and we had the same mindset surrounding the race,, we are here for the long haul.. she promised to get me to the start line every hour, all I had to do was promise to come back before each hour,, Bigs dogs back yard is one of the most iconic places in the runners world, and meeting Laz himself for the first time he is kinda celebrity status among us runners 😁… The course is technical during the day (I didn’t realise how technical it would be) and an out and back on road (not flat at all) Everyone is allocated a spot in the big tent it looked like a graveyard with peoples names, we also had a shared tent with 1 other runner but we had our tent too,, more privacy and a quiet place to sleep when needed. The plan was Annabelle would sleep between laps, with a big sleep during the day so I could tend to myself for those couple of hours, this obviously didn’t go this way as she greeted me at the start/finish line every hour with out fail. It was amazing to have her there 🙏🏻🙌🏻 As the hours ticked by I felt good, I kept consistent my lap times were decent and I was getting some sleep,, food was going in but it was so hot and humid at times it was not digesting,, we tried to keep on top of salt intake too,, there is so much you need to be aware of with in this race, this is why the crew person is so important, they need to adjust on the fly or the race will end… Continued in comment section…

Right,i thought long and hard about posting this but feel i have to say something now. 1 million % want my page to be a positive one but i also promote healthy living and taking care of your body so if i say nothing it defeats the purpose. So i decided to get the vaccine when i was offered.I received the Pfizer.First one i was perfectly fine no side effects just a little tired and dead arm. 2nd initially i was ok,then 2 days later i had a pain in my upper back(like a pulled muscle). Couldn't sleep with the pain that night. Next day taking painkillers all day worked a little. That evening the pain suddenly got so severe,it traveled into my chest and i couldn't breathe. I got pins and needles in my hands and face and then they went numb and into a spasm. I couldn't control the trembling of my whole body. So frightening. Straight into A&E did all sorts of tests x-rays,bloods,ultrasounds etc. Couldn't find anything so they "treated me" for a clot in the lung which caused pleurisy they said. On antibiotics for 10 days and other meds. 10 days later and really trying to just get on with it. Waking up with pains in my legs constantly tightness of my chest and difficult to get a deep breath.Headaches and feeling light headed. And so fatigued. When i asked could this be a side effect from the vaccine "not likely because your fit and healthy" i was told. I was healthy and the fittest i've ever been in my life before this.I know I'm one of the really lucky ones when i see and hear what others are going through. I know this won't happen to everyone but please look into it before you decide to take it. A Holiday or eating indoors? Is it worth it?❤

  3. Haven’t posted in a bit so said I would tonight🙈 So the past few weeks I’ve been really training /working hard but felt I was getting nowhere with everything if that makes sense. My head hasn’t been in a good place for no particular reason but just couldn’t shift it. No one would ever notice as I always hide it. But it is what it is and have to deal with it. Saturday was one of the worst days I’ve had in a long time🤯 The more I’m talking to people the more I hear a lot are going through the same I’m not sure if it’s the time of the year or what but it’s scary how many suffer with their own mind. But training is my medication and I really can’t recommend just getting out,moving,walking,running,gym whatever just do it. Sunday did a long run with lovely people,took progress pics,got dressed went out and felt a lot better. Constantly putting yourself down or comparing yourself to others will destroy you. Just be you. Instagram mostly only shows the good times people are having and hides the shit so don’t beat yourself up about how slow your progress is training or something in your life is not going the way you want it too at the moment or whatever it is,stop and look what you’ve achieved instead and keep going.😉💗 #personaltrainer #fitness #fit #trainer #motivation #healthy #healthylifestyle #healthybodyhealthymind #transformation

  2. ✨️ Berlin Marathon ✨️ Yesterday wasn't really about the time for me. I just needed a good run. I wanted to get to 30k and have some fight. After a ropey 20k I settled in and romped home from 30k 🔥 Yesterday was one of the most fun days I've had out there. Berlin was magic. The 2nd half felt so good. The marathon distance is so special.   3. London Winter 10k I knew I wasn't in peak shape going in to Sundays 10k race so the goal was a good hard effort and to have fun (can't pb every race!). Happy with 33.15, finishing 13th /25000 runners and high fiving some penguins en route 🐧🐧🌨 Massive thanks to @hoka_eu for the opportunity and the chance to take the Cielo X1 2.0 for a spin.
