  1. WHAT JUST HAPPENED!? #2:57 I wasn’t well prepared for this marathon at all. And It was never my plan since I’m really training for an half Ironman in july. Therfore I had settled for a time around 3:20h. Also, three weeks ago I sprained my ankle and didn’t run for almost two weeks. Yesterday I was limping and feared that the race was ruined. So came race day. Freezing cold and raining. Absolutely terrible. But still very thrilling! 1 km - Very slow. Running w a limp. 4 km - Checked my watch, 4:09 pace. Decided to just go with it but without checking the watch again. Which I only did one more time. 16 km - Nature called. Stopped at the toilets for an ”all inclusive” extravaganza... 16,1 km - Came out of the toilet and ran past our photographer @andyastfalck . Stopped a and ran back to him so he could take some pictures. 20 km - Looked at my watch, 3:54 pace. Got a bit worried I’d been running too fast and would burn out. 26 km - Nature called again. Nr 1. Didn’t want to waste more time so decided to just relax, smile and eh... make it rain ; ) The rest of the race was just me running and enjoying Tokyo Marathon. With one extra wet sock. I used to push myself very hard in training for a marathon, with intervals, tempo runs etc that were tough on the body. Often a bit too tough. So my biggest revelation is that it’s possible to run fast without nearly killing yourself in training. Based on my running lately, I did not think I had sub3 in me. But now I know that running 3 times a week, often slow, with a non-running day inbetween can make you fast. Though I think my time on the trainer has given me some push. During the race I was thinking ”This is nothing campared to being on the trainer for 3h doing intervals”. Anyway, thanks #ASICSFrontRunner teammates for these days! And thank you #TokyoMarathon for an epic time❤️ . . 📷 @andyastfalck . . . . . . #tokyomarathon #raceday #surprised #ad #epic #strong #fast #endurance #longdistance #winthelongrun #asics #japan #dreamcometrue #enjoy #experience #marathon #running #travel #poweryourpassion #training #runner #instagood #ASICSRunning #soundmindsoundbody #ASICSFrontRunnerSwe
