  1. 2021 in 15s 🥂 Started the year up north at the pyramids in Egypt, then took a long sojourn in Dubai and America in the middle, now off to wrap it up in Tanzania, and always stopping for anchor in Nairobi in between. I’m grateful 2021 opened up for travel a little. And living off two suitcases through the year has quite really ushered a new way of living for me. Happy end of the year guys 🥂

  2. Our addresses in Watamu last week: To stay: we stayed at the very stylish @hibiscus_suites_kenya which is within @ghepard_exclusive_residence . They’re perfectly small so a pretty exclusive, intimate feel here. The beach: for days on the beach, we walked over to @tamubeachbarandrestaurant which was just PERFECT. The beach is beautiful and at lower tide has access to a beautiful sand island. The food at the restaurant was also so so good! It was a perfect find! To eat: Our hosts recommended the restaurant at the Palm Garden for a nice, dressy dinner and it was spot on. It’s also a perfectly styled boutique hotel which we made a note to look into later. For light grabs, we stumbled upon @hosteriaromanawatamu and the Margharita there!! *chef’s kiss* Sport: Paddle boarding and Kayaking at @lichthaus_watamu is IT!! The route goes into the mangroves and that was just exceptional! For tennis, we went to Hemingways and after that, walked over to Turtle bay for more paddle boarding- the water is calmer here so it isn’t as much of a physical effort paddling as it was at the Creek at Lichthaus. El also ran 10ks almost every day along Jacaranda rd which was impressive and obviously he hasn’t stopped talking about it since. Sundowner: @lichthaus_watamu is a scene at sunset although I found that it didn’t particularly have a great variety for food. I’d absolutely recommend going earlier and doing a paddle board before sundowners though. #watamu #watamukenya

The UltraMARAthon is not only a test of endurance but a powerful way to support conservation and community initiatives. The proceeds significantly benefit Mara Elephant Project’s key goals including rangers training, equipment and uniform, healthcare and salary support. The Kicheche Ultras team secured 3rd place in the men-only 4×12.5 km relay category, while the Kicheche Stars team finished 10th in the 50 km mixed 4×12.5 km relay category.
