SPK for me had the crown & bears a close second a few others in the top 10. Northern soul have now claimed top spot…..for now. • 2 fresh tuna fillets, diced
• Kewpie mayonnaise
• Rice wine vinegar
• Sesame oil
• Soy sauce or tamari
• Hot honey (or maple syrup/honey)
• Chilli oil or chilli crunch
• Sesame seeds
• 1 avocado, diced (optional)
• 1 mango, diced (optional)
• Spring onion, sliced (optional)
• Rice paper sheets
• Oil for frying Method: 1. Dice the tuna and pop it into a bowl. 2. Add Kewpie mayo, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, soy/tamari, hot honey, chilli oil, and sesame seeds.
No exact amounts needed -mix to taste! 3. Fold through avocado and mango if using. 4. Cut rice paper sheets into quarters. 5. Deep-fry each piece until it puffs into a crispy little cup. 6.   3. Somewhere out there, a mum is doing this perfectly. THIS IS NOT THAT STORY! 👀🫠😆 If you grew up in Australia in the 80s, you know this book. It was the holy grail of childhood birthdays – every kid flipping through its pages, dreaming of the masterpiece their mum was going to create. I have fond memories of the cakes my mum baked for me and my sister. She gifted me her copy when I had children. Since then, every year I go to bake a cake from it there’s some sort of friggin disaster that has me in a panic until the early hours of the morning. 😆But I’ve learnt over the years that all disasters can be fixed with plenty of icing, fondant and a couple of skewers. 🤌👌Hahahaha. The duck cake nearly broke me, though. I do not recommend making it. 🚫⛔️😂 BTW, I’m keen to hear your birthday cake triumphs and failures. Or memories are also nice, too. Bring it on! 💋

  2. Did that really just happen?? I’m still on a high after opening for the suit up runway for @melbfashionfestival last night. What an incredible energy in the room last night!! This collection originally took inspiration from Persia - the colours, the lush fabrications, the gold and experimentation with embroidery. It also of course took a lot of inspiration from musicians now and last. A MASSIVE thank you first of all to @marda_couture our head tailor who either physically put together many of these designs in our tiny upstairs studio at the shop. For all those long days and nights over the past few weeks- you are my hero!!! It all began with that hand embroidered rose and pearl design I drew soo roughly but you just got it and imbued it with your magic. You always GET IT!! Thank you to @hilarygreen__ for being as excited as I was about the idea of creating ceramic crowns for EVERY look- that’s 12 in total hand made by Hillary! To @namuna.studio and @cleopatrasbling for your custom jewellery and bedazzlement - and to @miriam.beatrice @tildy_davis and @madebymagnets for carefully stitching them all on! Thank you @brusimoes for your incredible artwork and to Safa for bringing it to life with your golden embroidery! All that experimentation finally paid off! To @donebymatea for our incredible custom shoes and @noskin.co for the magic patent leather loaf as. To @carlosmangubat for your creative direction for the entire show and all the back and forthing we did to get there! To all my beautiful tailors that aren’t on Instagram- YOU are the business.   3. A select few of the couture pieces from the runway are slowly making their way to the website this week. Some are there now, with more to trickle over through the week. There will of course be elements of these new details we’ll be offering for our custom suiting as well for those who want to stretch their suit customisation to another level. I’m so excited to have had this opportunity to trial new ideas! Aaaand! New small ready to wear collections are also on the way- more updates about that tomorrow!!

  1. I love @amylandthesniffers so I made Amy these shorties 💚 and then (knowing Amy’s predilection) I thought I’d make a ridiculously Tiny Bikini top and gloves to match. SO excited to see them in action! wish I was at these gigs at the Camden Roundhouse. Funny fact/ one NYE 2009 I went to see @marawa perform in Le Clique at the roundhouse. It was snowing and I was wearing a tiny black mini dress and a huge neck ruff. Somehow I got roped into being one of the people who set off the massive glitter cannons at midnight. It was terrifying but quite exhilarating and a very exciting was to ring on the new year! Lots of LOVE to all my performer friends! You rule.
