  1. A whole 365 days between pic 1 and pic 2. This time last year I was staring down the barrel of a mental health crisis - I decided to come to our yearly retreat thinking it would do me good to have a few days of yoga and exercise before trying to go back to work, even though at the point this photo was taken I could not remember my friends’ names, process any written information or follow the conversations that were happening around me, and sometimes did not remember where I was. I think I did a lot of crying and staring blankly into space. Turns out a weekend away wasn’t quite enough and I spent the next four weeks unable to leave the house most days, and the next three months unable to work. It’s hard to believe that a whole year has gone by between that me and this me; I’m certainly different now, learning how to say no to things and balance my life a bit better (turns out the only prize you get for doing All The Things is burnout). I don’t even really know what I’m trying to say except for if you are tired, stop. If you are overwhelmed, stop. There will come a time when your body will make the decision for you if you don’t pay attention, and it’s frightening. I came back this time, I was lucky - the sunset this year wasn’t quite as spectacular but being present and calm amongst the people you love is infinitely preferable!x

ME | ......Words cannot express how absolutely blown away I was tonight to be announced 2017 Stylist of the year by the institute I have so much respect for and owe so many thanks to. @australianstyleinstitute first appeared on my radar while reading @vogueaustralia after the birth of my youngest son. It wasn't the right time but at the same time it was. It reignited my passion for fashion - I had trained in fashion design, but when I was in the workroom I missed the people. I recognised how important that human connection was to me and how important being of service and working as a creative was, and from that moment I set my sights on Styling. When the time was right with the support of my wonderful husband and family I set off to Melbourne to train with the amazing ASI team and incredible @australianstyleinstitute founder Lauren Di Bartolo. After 5 years at home with my beautiful boys, those days in the room training with @australianstyleinstitute gave me that push and that confidence I needed to re-enter the fashion industry. Within in weeks of finishing my training I worked with my first client, and I have not looked back since. My journey has been so exciting, the opportunities that have come my way have been so incredible, and the life I lead is one I would have only dreamed of 18mths ago.
