A little history of the Milan Cathedral: The construction of the Duomo of Milan began in 1386 and ended in 1965. But just one look at the cathedral, and you can see it was worth the wait — there are 34,000 statues inside and out, 135 spires, 55 stained glass windows, and 150 gargoyles.
