  3. It’s been a while and a very very slow start to January with lots of behind the scenes excitement happening. I didn’t manage a Sunday share last week, so here’s a little one this week, and what felt like a slow week turns out was pretty excellent! 1. The dreamiest meeting with @sarahwoodgonzalez and @abouttown.co, that I can’t wait to tell you about. Was in the loveliest spot too! There’s many plans happening and I might burst with excitement! 2. Always a slow walk to the vennel, it’s rare to catch it so quiet but January is when Edinburgh feels most like home ✨ 3. Took the kids for wanders around my favourite bookshops, vintage shops and antique stores, the delight when they find a favourite book! 4. Ate the last of my birthday cake yesterday, I’ll absolutely drag it out as long as I can. Yesterday would have been my Dads birthday 🥰 5. This hairbow was stunning, had a wander around @anthropologieeu and spent some birthday vouchers, bought a mug I of course didn’t need, perfect! 6. Flasks of hot chocolates, and woodland walks with the wee ones, it’s been FREEZING here lately! Half expected more snow. 7. Love a game night, the sock game and bingo are favourites, P for pizza last night and 6 second scribbles, hilarious trying to guess the answers! Board game suggestions welcome! 8. Thrifted this ribbon holder, I’ve wanted one for years (hello Dot Cotton in Eastenders) and couldn’t believe when I seen it sitting in a charity shop! Missing his scissors but I’ll find a perfect pair. What’s been your favourite thing this week? No matter how tiny….

  2. Artist Celie Byrne @celiebyrne under the famous John Byrne mural on the Dome at the King’s Theatre Edinburgh. From the latest #kingsstories blog on the @captheatres blog: ‘The late John Byrne is embedded in the history of the King’s Theatre through his ‘All The World’s A Stage’ mural. Painted on the dome inside the auditorium, John and his team, which included his daughter Celie Byrne, worked on the 78.5 square metre painting over a six-week period before the design was unveiled on 6 August 2013.  Celie joined us for the first dome conservation inspection in September 2024, offering her experience of working on this very special project with her father, and witnessing first-hand the dedication and expertise of the conservators at work.  Describing the experience, which was her first foray into large scale mural art, Celie says it was “a privilege to be one of the small team of ‘apprentices’ to the ‘master’ that is John Byrne”.  She continues, “I loved every moment on site, up high on what seemed like our own island out at sea. I will always treasure that special time with my daddy.” ‘ I really enjoyed meeting Celie to do these portraits and chatting all things art-world- freelancer & the challenges of access for people who are also parents. Celie has just finished a collaborative exhibition ‘Occupied Thoughts, Occupied Space’, where artists responded to the occupation of Palestine. I’m gutted that I couldn’t make it.   2. An amazing night, with amazing people. I haven't laughed so much in such a long time. I spend so much time alone, and I love it, but I forget how many amazing woman I know and make me laugh! I got to dress up and get out of my trackpants tonight. My favourite voice note friend Ellen, even writing her name makes me laugh. We have been crop dusting each other voice notes on WhatsApp, we have been going on about our lives and voice noting each other. Sometimes we answer back straightaway, but mostly answer back two weeks to a few months later. She is my favourite voice note friend. Never do I feel bad for taking so long to reply, because we are the worst at replying, BUT when we do, it's probably the funniest and weirdest voice notes, but I LOVE them. That is my kind of friend. ❤️ So tonight's happiness is all because of my beautiful friend @smellenellens We caught up with Noosh, Daniella, Lauren and Al.. a beautiful night full with laughter and love. ✨️✨️✨️ ❤️❤️❤️
