  2. Ready for Rule of 5 in 2024? It's great to have you here! It's been such a lovely experience travelling with all my Rule of 5 friends this last year, I couldn't possibly look back. Instead, I'm really looking forward to doing it with all of you again - only better this time. Quick reminder of the guidelines on these slides, but please remember they are just a guide. This is your challenge, it's important it's right for you, your needs and where you are in life right now. Having completed the challenge last year I can assure you it really is worth it, on so many levels. It resets your shopping habits, refreshes your relationship with fashion, deepens your relationship with style, saves you money (yes!), introduces you to creativity - and it helps the fight against climate change. I'm sure I don't need to tell you fashion is responsible for 8-10% of the world's emissions, has a huge waste problem clogging up deserts, seas and frankly any part of the world we can find to ship to, and is encouraging consumption at a rate far beyond that which the world's resources will allow. What's great about this challenge is that it is something we can all do, it is enjoyable and revealing and if enough of us do it, it could change the current trajectory we are on. So give it a go! Your wardrobe (and your happiness levels) will thank you. Do subscribe to the newsletter via link in bio as the first bulletin will be going out tomorrow, with lots more detail (don't worry, it's not that complicated). #ruleof5 #sustainablefashion #2024

  2. One of the best bits about working @graziauk is getting involved with brilliant partners to raise awareness about issues that impact women. Maternal mental health is one of those, and I’m grateful to be working with @mmhalliance to mark World Maternal Mental Health Day. We are launching a campaign to improve women’s access to mental health care during and post pregnancy. We’re asking the government to implement mandatory mental health check-ups as part of every prenatal and antenatal appointment. The statistics are shocking. At least 1 in 5 women worldwide experience some sort of perinatal mood and anxiety disorder. 7 in 10 women hide or downplay their symptoms. Mental health problems are the most common complication of pregnancy and the postnatal period (affecting 1 in 5) and yet there is far less investment and attention compared to physical conditions like gestational diabetes (1 in 20) and pre-eclampsia (1-5 in 100). Suicide continues to be the leading cause of direct maternal death between 6 weeks and 12 months after birth, and accounts for a staggering 39% of maternal deaths. But it’s not just stats. The stories being shared today on @thejuggleuk show that maternal mental ill health doesn’t discriminate: it impacts so many of us. This is a picture of me three weeks after having my second child. It was the first time I’d felt able to leave the house, other than for hospital appointments and admissions as we both struggled through complications. Looking back, I can see the grief, but it took many more weeks before I finally was able to admit to family how dark my thoughts had become. I was lucky. Despite my feelings being minimized by a (middle aged, male) GP, a nurse recognised I was in a bad way and probed, sensitively, until it all came out. I’ll always be grateful to her for listening, caring and helping me understand that the best thing I could do for my baby was get myself feeling more stable. We need more conversation, support & funding for maternal mental health. Massive thanks to the super woman who’ve already supported this. Connecting with smart women with so much heart is another thing I love about my job ❤️ #mmhadvocacyday

  1. 1. Hear the voice of God God will give you his instructions and you must learn to discern his voice & obey what he’s calling you to do in terms of your calling (even if its uncomfortable. The uncomfortable will eventually become comfortable). When Samuel was called by God, he did not recognise the voice of God (1 Samuel 3). He heard God’s voice but did not have the discernment to recognise the voice of God, he mistook it as Eli’s. It wasn’t until Eli told him that it wasn’t him that was calling him but God, and that he should respond to God by saying, “Speak, for your servant is listening”. 2. Be led by the Holy Spirit To know your calling you must not be guided by your own desires and will, you must be led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan before he began preaching the gospel (Matthew 4:1-11). He resisted all temptation from Satan through the power of the Holy Spirit and was able to start preaching in the full power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will lead you to the wilderness season because he wants to prune, mould, refine and cultivate you and your character so that you are prepared and equipped for when you step into your calling. 3. Identify your passions To know your calling you must identify what God has already given you, and let it glorify him. You will have to drop your own desires to take up and follow the desires He has for you. When the first disciples of Jesus were called; Simon (Peter), Andrew, James and John they were fishermen fishing for fish (Matthew 4:18-22). Jesus said something very profound when he called them, ‘”Come, and follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”‘ Their career was being fishermen but Jesus turned their career into a calling, they were to fish for men, which aligns with God’s agenda; the great commission. God can use your career, passions, gifts, or skills for the calling he has for you. Ask God how they can be used for his kingdom and to fulfil his calling for you. #christianity #reels #christiancontent #holyspirit #jesus #christianblogger #womanofgod #jesuslovesyou
