  2. Ready for Rule of 5 in 2024? It's great to have you here! It's been such a lovely experience travelling with all my Rule of 5 friends this last year, I couldn't possibly look back. Instead, I'm really looking forward to doing it with all of you again - only better this time. Quick reminder of the guidelines on these slides, but please remember they are just a guide. The uncomfortable will eventually become comfortable). When Samuel was called by God, he did not recognise the voice of God (1 Samuel 3). He heard God’s voice but did not have the discernment to recognise the voice of God, he mistook it as Eli’s. It wasn’t until Eli told him that it wasn’t him that was calling him but God, and that he should respond to God by saying, “Speak, for your servant is listening”. 2. Be led by the Holy Spirit To know your calling you must not be guided by your own desires and will, you must be led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan before he began preaching the gospel (Matthew 4:1-11). He resisted all temptation from Satan through the power of the Holy Spirit and was able to start preaching in the full power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will lead you to the wilderness season because he wants to prune, mould, refine and cultivate you and your character so that you are prepared and equipped for when you step into your calling. 3. Identify your passions To know your calling you must identify what God has already given you, and let it glorify him. You will have to drop your own desires to take up and follow the desires He has for you. When the first disciples of Jesus were called; Simon (Peter), Andrew, James and John they were fishermen fishing for fish (Matthew 4:18-22). Jesus said something very profound when he called them, ‘”Come, and follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”‘ Their career was being fishermen but Jesus turned their career into a calling, they were to fish for men, which aligns with God’s agenda; the great commission. God can use your career, passions, gifts, or skills for the calling he has for you.   3. ‼️ Let’s be transparent here ‼️ NO-ONE can stay steadfast in purity, righteousness and holiness by their own power. It’s impossible! And I am not perfect, no-one is, only Jesus was. Christian’s often struggle with their flesh, fighting to do what’s right, obeying and trusting God, avoiding temptations, maintaining temperance, and walk in the fruits of the spirit. We’ve all been there, I’ve been there and still journeying. I am often asked how to lessen this struggle and begin to take control over the flesh and bring it into submission. My answer is simple but effective. Kill it.  “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. ” – Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭13 The best way to crucify the flesh is by starving it out. To force the flesh into submission you must deprive it of its power ↓ When you starve the flesh and nourish the spirit through prayer AND fasting, the spirit gains power over the flesh. Fasting helps you train your spirit to resist fleshly desires and say “no” to temptations. This principle can be applied to all aspects of our lives, from sexual immorality to emotions and distractions.   3. I know most of you think I grew up in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (and I did) but I properly grew up in the newsroom at the Evening Standard. It’s this that has made the decision to leave it behind after 15 years (almost a whole decade as fashion editor) as emotionally taxing as filing on a Chanel show in 3 minutes — but it’s time for a new chapter. I’m so proud of my small but perfectly formed department - my beloved @miss_mccarthy - and our dedication to bringing this magic city the take on fashion it deserves. I’m grateful for the memories too, which include everything from interviewing Karl Lagerfeld on a rooftop in Paris during a low level hurricane (I was 23, terrified) to burrito Friday - a legacy that belongs to my ❤️ @lauracraik . The very very best of the Evening Standard is a fast moving, steady nerved team who muck in together when the chips are down. I’m happy to have walked among them and delighted to call so many of them my friends. Now for a new beginning....

Speak highly of yourself as you speak highly of others. Respect yourself the way you respect others. In life things may not always go as planned, make the most of the positive things you have and what you can do in life. I believe in second chances and I pray that God will forgive my sins and give me another chance for the gifts he has in store for me in my life. I pray that I will receive everything that my heart desires, abundantly more life, more prosperity, more health, more happiness, more love and more wealth. Thank you ALL who has been in my life positively, genuinely and remained here. I appreciate you. Some may have misunderstood who I am but that’s ok because I know who I am and that’s what matters.
