  2. Ready for Rule of 5 in 2024? It's great to have you here! It's been such a lovely experience travelling with all my Rule of 5 friends this last year, I couldn't possibly look back. Instead, I'm really looking forward to doing it with all of you again - only better this time. Quick reminder of the guidelines on these slides, but please remember they are just a guide. This is your challenge, it's important it's right for you, your needs and where you are in life right now. Having completed the challenge last year I can assure you it really is worth it, on so many levels. It resets your shopping habits, refreshes your relationship with fashion, deepens your relationship with style, saves you money (yes!), introduces you to creativity - and it helps the fight against climate change. I'm sure I don't need to tell you fashion is responsible for 8-10% of the world's emissions, has a huge waste problem clogging up deserts, seas and frankly any part of the world we can find to ship to, and is encouraging consumption at a rate far beyond that which the world's resources will allow. What's great about this challenge is that it is something we can all do, it is enjoyable and revealing and if enough of us do it, it could change the current trajectory we are on. So give it a go! Your wardrobe (and your happiness levels) will thank you. Do subscribe to the newsletter via link in bio as the first bulletin will be going out tomorrow, with lots more detail (don't worry, it's not that complicated). #ruleof5 #sustainablefashion #2024

  1. Kate Winslet on the new Grazia cover = a Christmas treat. 🖤 Eighteen months ago, I was lucky enough to get a tour of Kate Winslet’s favourite Cornish spots. She’d just shot a campaign for Longines on one of her treasured coastal paths and was in a reflective mood. She talked about her upcoming 50th birthday, revealing she didn’t want presents – but more wanted to do 50 incredible things. ‘Acts of kindness, physical feats and probably something like trying foods I’ve never tried before,’ she mused. Perhaps directing her first movie was also on that list. Because, fast forward to today and - pioneered by the brilliant @hanna_woodside and with huge thanks to @premierpersonalpr - I’m excited to have Kate gracing the cover of Grazia and talking about stepping behind the camera for the first time. Over tapas in Borough market, Kate talked to @oteghauwagba about why the time felt right to take on this new challenge and the guiding principles that have helped her have such staying power in Hollywood. Also, a word for this killer shoot, pulled together by the brilliant team below. I’d really recommend tuning into Kate’s directorial debut Goodbye June when it hits Netflix this Christmas. The story of a family coming together and falling apart as the matriarch falls ill, it’s raw but beautiful. Just have tissues close to hand. 2. How do you know when it’s time to walk away from a big job? One that’s fulfilling and rewarding, but also all-consuming. That’s the question I’ve been asking myself for months. The answer, I’ve decided, is when you’ve done everything you feel there is to do. When you realise growth can only come from stepping into the great unknown. I came into Grazia as Editor-in-Chief eight years ago with a simple mission: unite the print and digital teams and make sure the powerhouse brand I’d long loved engaged, entertained and influenced our amazing audience wherever we touched her. The journey to this point has been incredible - in large part because I’ve been lucky enough to work with the most creative and passionate mix of people. There are too many to tag here, but to all the past and present Grazia teams: a massive thank you. You’ve inspired and challenged me every single day. I’ve loved it. Together, we’ve elevated the print product into a fortnightly glossy, shooting some of the most exciting talent in meaningful ways. Across ever-evolving digital platforms, we’ve shown that quality content from trusted brands still cuts through. And we’ve helped make the world a better place for readers who demand we use our platform for good: putting affordable childcare at the heart of politics and helping change the law by ending the ‘rough sex’ defence. Along the way, it’s been both a privilege and a huge learning experience to navigate a team and brand through a pandemic, interview Prime Ministers, get under the skin of luxury, high street and beauty brands, and create stories, shoots and covers I’ve loved seeing resonate with audiences. It’s time to take that experience and insight into something new. As my wise 11-year-old said recently: “You’ve squeezed the lemon out, mummy. It’s time to get a new one.” But first, it’s back to the day job. I’m not leaving Grazia until September, which means there’s still plenty of time to plot powerful stories - or talk about second acts. Slide into my DMs.

  1. ⚡️So excited to introduce our latest #WomenInSport joint cover stars @teamgb athletes @daryllneita and @laviai⚡️ As a lifelong runner and avid athletics fan, it was such a joy to meet them earlier this month at the track in Lee Valley for our shoot - I can’t wait to see them competing in a few days time! I’ve met quite a few cover stars in my time but there is something uniquely inspiring about elite athletes like these two, whose dedication, resilience and sheer uncompromising drive to win is so beautifully matched by their humility and brilliant sense of fun (✨swipe ➡️for some BTS of the day!✨) Read the brilliant interview by @allyyhead and the rest of the issue including a special report about the record number of mums competing at the Olympics this year, an investigation into the lack of gender equality in sports research, key fashion moments from Olympics past, plus how to train like an Olympian and much more. Thanks to the small but mighty creative team below and fantastic MC contribs and writers for your hard work. 🙏🏽 Credits: Photographer and Film Director: @rebecca.munroe Editor In Chief: @andreacanwrite Words: @allyyhead Design: @anaospinatejeiro Stylist: @sofiapizah Social: @dionnebrighton Hair: @thehair.co Make-up (Lavia): @teresa.makeup Make-up (Daryll): @lucyfreemanmakeup Accompanying content @sofiapizah @annabartterwrites @abbi.le.henderson @mischasmith With thanks to: Adidas #WomenInSport #MarieClaireUK #DaryllNeita #LaviaiNielsen #Olympics2024 #TeamGB
