  2. We never get tired of these beauties 💚 This is me in my essence connecting with the Northern Lights. When you are out on a hunt you have to be patient. On this night it was cloudy and we waited for the opening to pass over us. The key was reading the cloud coverage many times before hand. Then as the skies cleared a bit a small form of lights came, sometimes mistaken for clouds. They start many times as a white little cloud. As we had the knowledge of that we patiently waited and enjoy picturing them until a stellar show of lights came around. The key is, do your cloud reading and play the patience game. Hvernig heldur maður áfram að vaxa – án þess að yfirgefa það sem maður elskar að gera?💙 Eftir eigendaskipti hjá fyrirtækjunum sem ég vann með stóð ég uppi með færri vörumerki – og fleiri lausa klukkutíma yfir daginn. Ég fann að það var kominn tími á breytingar, en ég var samt ekki tilbúin að sleppa því sem mér finnst skemmtilegast við vinnuna mína. Ég þekki Kvartz vel og hlakka til að takast á við krefjandi og fjölbreytt verkefni í nýju umhverfi – án þess þó að slíta alveg tengslin við það sem ég elska mest við starfið mitt.   1. Few things I’ve learned teaching my 2year old, maybe this can be helpful🤷🏼‍♀️🥰 1. Kids tend to cool down a lot faster than adults so make sure they are properly dressed. Depending on how cold it is I usually dress my kids in 1-2 layers of whool base layers, a thick whool or fleece onsie, sometimes an extra whool sweater and a thick snowsuit +2 gloves. 2. I try to teach my kids that falling is a normal part of trying and learning something new. Rarely do we master something on the first try so why should they. Be positive and jolly when they fall, find something funny about it and create joy instead of fear. As soon as they are less afraid of falling the easier everything will become. 3. This one‘s important. When you start skiing with your kid try to encourage them to stand on thir own. Spagetti legs are hard for the kids but even harder for parents. Let them find and feel their own strenght. If they crumble and fall as soon as you let go of them they have not yet found their balance and strenght. A few things that can help with this: Get them to put their hands on their knees, ski infront of them ready to catch them, hold their hips instead of under their arms and make sure the slope is fairly flat and easy. 4. For independence I found a tip connector (or a edgie wedgie) to be very helpful. When kids are learning to do a snowplough they often put their legs all the way together or apart. Creating the triangulare shape is a difficult movement for them but using a tip connector the skis will automatically go into the right shape. This will let the kids feel the movement without having to master it right away and thus be able to ski and slow down on their own. 5. And most importantly, make it fun! Play around, create games, be silly, this is all just snow play. Don‘t try to force it and don‘t put to much pressure on the skiing development. Few things I do: Carry ‚fuel‘ in my pocket to refill the energy tank, play I spy, switch it up..so sometimes I take my kid and hold her and ski really fast, go jumping or ski offpist, and ski with friends. However you do this, just make sure your kid is having fun and feels safe.

  2. Þá er baráttan á Grensás hafin! Nú eru um 5 vikur frá því ég slasaði mig á hjólinu í Enduro keppni í Esjunni. Ég braut á mér öxlina - setti fyrir mig olnbogann í fallinu og höggið kemur upp og brýtur öxlina. Ég stend upp og leita af hjólinu til að bruna af stað og ná Jonna aftur en þá fann eg að það var ekki allt með felldu og ég byrja á að þreifa viðbeinin og þau voru heil, svo lyfti ég upp öxlinni og þá lyftist bara lítill stubbur út í loftið. Þá voru góð ráð dýr, en ég geri mér strax grein fyrir alvarleikanum og aðstæðunum en ég var staddur í miðri Esjunni og það voru 30 m/s. Ég hugsa strax að ég geti ekki lagst niður hér, þá kæmist ég aldrei af stað aftur eða beðið eftir aðstoð - ég þurfti að nýta adrenalínið til að koma mér niður á veg þar sem ég gæti komist sjúkrabíl til að fá verkjalyf. Partýlestin mín (Baldvin Jonas og Stefán) komu strax að mér eftir crashið og aðstoðuðu mig að labba niður og gripu mig þegar ég var að líða útaf og drógu mig aftur af stað. Ég komst niður á veg þar sem Dacia Duster glæsikerran hans Örn keyrði mig að sjúkrabílnum. Þegar ég var hættur að labba og var komin á áfangastað gat ég loks farið að spá í hvað væri að gerast. Hendin var orðin hvít og dofin og mikil hræðsla greip um mig, ég gat ekki hreyft á mér puttana. Það sagði mér að það væri skert blóðflæði niður í hendina. Ég gat ekki hugsað mér að reyna að tosa út brotna leggin sem hafði gengið inn að öxsinni. Ég hef setið mörg námskeið um allskonar skyndihjálp en gat ekki munað hvað það væri langur tími sem ég hafði þangað til það færi að myndast drep og vefjadauði vegna skerts blóðflæðis. En núna veit ég að það eru 2 timar, og nú vitið þið það líka. Þegar ég var kominn upp í sjúkrabílinn verkjastilla þeir mig og finna að það er enginn púls í hendinni. Þeir gefa mér einn góðan auka skammt og tosa svo brotið út, þá finna þeir púls og keyra af stað. Axslarkúlan brotnaði af og í þrennt ásamt upphandleggnum allt var þetta skrúfað saman og gaf læknirinn mér alveg góð 10 ár á þessum lið áður en ég fengi bara nyjan :) Í dag er hendinn hálf lömuð en nú byrjar baráttan við að endurvekja og við halda vöðvum sem eru óvirkir vegna taugaskaðans. Eftir ca 4 ár, eða umþaðbil 40 til 400 þúsund klukkustundum síðar ætla ég að segja að húsbilinn okkar sé formlega tilbúinn, hver einasti fercentimeter hefur verið hugsaður og útpældur til þess að full nýta þennan fyrrum sendibíl sem ævintýra bíl sem hefur nú þegar gefið okkur fjölskyldunni þvílíkt af hamingju stundum og góðum minningum. Það er heldur ekki seinni vænna því á morgun (eftir nokkra svefn litla undirbúnings daga) leggjum við af stað í okkar stærsta ævintýri hingað til. En til stendur að fara með norrænu og keyra ca svona stóran hring niður slóveníu, króatíu Albaníu svo upp með Ítalíu og yfir til Sarbiniu, suður Frakkland Mónakó og andorra
