From our playroom to the Den to having 6000sq foot of label space I did that! But it wouldn’t have been possible without .. . My family with me every step of the way, helping me achieve things I didn’t know possible ✨my children growing up with their mum and dad smashing out a business from scratch learning what work was, and how drive and determination will be the biggest lessons you will learn in life. . Employing the most wholesome team, who loved me and my business and helped supply labels with complete and utter hand made love ❤️ . Meeting Sir Alan Sugar and learning a way of business that I’ll be honest still blows my mind! Having a team there for me every step of the way to tell me how incredible I have done. . I have met the most incredible people along the way, and long may that continue into the next phase of my life. It’s OK to say goodbye to something, it’s ok to turn a new chapter, a new leaf. . I know so many of you ask what I’ll be doing, I’ll save that for another post for now this post is a memory for me and the BIGGEST THANK YOU to all of you because YOU all made this girl live out a dream that I am eternally thankful for ❤️ . Happy Saturday all , I know it’s not officially Autumn but couldn’t wait to start decorating 🍂 🍁 I did the shower pole trick again to hang the garlands , I tried this last year with our Christmas garland & worked really well plus saves having to make holes in the brick! Garlands are from Amazon and I added faux acorn stems and some greenery that I already had. It’s so easy to do , I added a garland across the top of the pole and then hung one down either each side , I use cable ties to make them extra secure. Once the garlands are hung I then add on the individual picks.   2. IKEA hack week 🛠 🧰 I love an IKEA hack! So thought this week I’d share one a day that we’ve tried. Yesterday I shared @ikeauk LOHALS rug hack if you want to check out my last post. Today is another @ikeauk IVAR hack , we made a kitchen pantry with 2 cabinets and bought another 2 to turn into wall cupboards for our utility makeover. Once assembled we attached to the wall with heavy duty hollow wall anchors. These cabinets are heavy ,so if mounted you need to make sure they’re well secured. Then added 6mm thick x 90mm wide mdf panels to create shaker style doors.The mdf also hides all the screws and the gap in the door.   3. Another day, another @cadwcymruwales event. Yesterday i visited Denbigh Castle for their medieval reenactment weekend. (This is on again today). Our highlight was being able to have a go at the archery. Plus the views over the Vale of Clwyd are beautiful🤩 I’d personally tie it in with a trip to @llynbrenigdwrcymru after. We have started to see more smiles from Darcie over the past couple of days 🥹 We know she’s deteriorating, and we don’t want to admit that she is, but seeing Darcie shine through again just shows us that she’s still got so much to give us and the world. Today, Darcie had an appointment at the eye clinic in our local hospital. She was seen very quickly by the orthoptist and consultant, and she’s now moving from fortnightly appointments to every 2–3 months unless required in the meantime. He was very happy with how her eyes are reacting to the antibiotics and eye drops. It’s been magical seeing her open her eyes a lot more than she has been, and seeing her be herself brings tears to our eyes 🥺 I’m sorry, but how cute is her outfit 😍

  1. TW: baby loss/pregnancy loss. On the 9th July, on her Mama’s birthday, at 1545, our gorgeous wee daughter, Ailsa Mhairi Knott, was born. She gave us the most precious hour and then she gained her angel wings and went to sleep forever. Our hearts are shattered and we are beyond devastated. I have never felt a heartbreak or darkness like it. The grief is overwhelming. We were so excited, and felt so blessed, to be expecting the next piece of our family puzzle and we will spend the rest of our lives wondering who she would have grown to be.   2. We were so happy. So truly and utterly over the moon happy. I’d do anything to go back to those blissfully happy versions of ourselves. I genuinely don’t know how we’ll ever get back to them but I know we have to try for the kids. But how do you fix something that can’t be fixed. Or heal something that can’t be healed. Like I said on stories, I feel like I have so much to say and so little at the same time. I’m just sharing as and when it feels right and comfortable. These memories of some of the time we had with our wee girl felt special to share. I hope that’s ok 🤍

  3. On the day of Ailsa’s funeral, I felt such a pull to be by the sea. Because she had already been blessed by the chaplain in the hospital, in a heartbreakingly beautiful service that I cannot thank him enough for, we decided to have a very small service at the crematorium. Originally Rob and I thought it would just be us there. Then the kids said they wanted to be there when we gave them the choice. I really wanted my family there too so to have my mum, dad and one of my brothers there as well meant the world. We did some readings to music we’d chosen, read her 2 of the kids favourite bedtime stories and then Rob and I stayed with her on our own to say goodbye one final time. I’d still say having to leave her behind in hospital was by far the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, there are no words to truly explain how difficult that is, but having to walk out of the crematorium came a close second. We went out for lunch afterwards because we wanted to celebrate her in some tiny way and then Rob, the kids and I headed down to the beach just to reflect and have some time just us. My Grannie, who I miss a lot, used to find these key to the sea shells back when I was wee. I’ve never found one myself. But when we got to the beach, there was one on the sand in front of me. I’ve always believed in signs but to receive them now is so incredibly special. This was my reading at her service. I just want to say thank you again for all the support and messages on here.   2. Can’t quite believe we are here to be honest. Team work makes the dream work 🥺🍂🤎 our beautiful kitchen and the heart of the home. It’s just my favourite place to be, after 18 months of so much hard work and so many bridges to cross we’ve done it. Our kitchen is from the most incredible company who are actually based in Ireland. This is our third kitchen in the family from @marklohankitchens because they have such an incredible team who are a joy to design with, even over the phone and video. calls, samples being sent across it was just so much fun. The delivery process was just super smooth and Mark has just been there whenever we needed help or needed to ask any questions, I can’t recommend them enough. Our cabinets are a bespoke made inframe style kitchen, with our island in a light oak and the rest in Farrow and Ball ‘Oxford Stone’ they go perfectly together and just keeps the traditional countryside feel to our barn.
