Happy Saturday all , I know it’s not officially Autumn but couldn’t wait to start decorating 🍂 🍁 I did the shower pole trick again to hang the garlands , I tried this last year with our Christmas garland & worked really well plus saves having to make holes in the brick! Garlands are from Amazon and I added faux acorn stems and some greenery that I already had. It’s so easy to do , I added a garland across the top of the pole and then hung one down either each side , I use cable ties to make them extra secure. Once the garlands are hung I then add on the individual picks.   2. IKEA hack week 🛠 🧰 I love an IKEA hack! So thought this week I’d share one a day that we’ve tried. Yesterday I shared @ikeauk LOHALS rug hack if you want to check out my last post. Today is another @ikeauk IVAR hack , we made a kitchen pantry with 2 cabinets and bought another 2 to turn into wall cupboards for our utility makeover. Once assembled we attached to the wall with heavy duty hollow wall anchors. These cabinets are heavy ,so if mounted you need to make sure they’re well secured. Then added 6mm thick x 90mm wide mdf panels to create shaker style doors.The mdf also hides all the screws and the gap in the door.   2. Turns out you can put a price on your kids happiness and it ain’t cheap 🤦‍♂️😂. All activities for the next few months will be free days out. And although it was a steep day out it’s not an every weekend occurrence, it’s a once in a year day out and it was fun.   3. The reality of having a child with a long term health condition. Things had been going well for Will. His nephrotic syndrome has been in remission for 18 months but the last two weeks he’s started to get poorly again. It’s slowly got worse until it all came to ahead this weekend. We’d spent all last week liaising with @alderhey about his deteriorating kidney functioning. We then spent all day in Bangor Hospital with him on Friday getting him checked over, bloods taken, new medicines he had finally come off all being represcribed, all the fun stuff. Then on Saturday he developed a high fever which as he is immune suppressed is a medical emergency for potential sepsis. It was fast and it was scary and it threw us straight back into those awful months we spent in Alderhey with him two years ago. Thankfully he’s responded well to the treatment and we are back home until Thursday when we will find out the plan moving forward. I genuinely hoped we might have been one of the cases where the treatment works and everything was just one small blip. But it’s clear now that this is going to be a long road.
