  2. I uploaded this 2 years to the day, thought I’d repost . It’s a very hard watch for me now , back then it was almost nice how excited my mum was to see her mum (my sister) and it was good to know she felt safe - as she became a little unsure of me at some points . Now , it’s sad to see how far she has progressed , how clear her speech is here , her ability to walk on her own. Sometimes you just need to enter their world and we went along with my sister being her mum as it made my mum happy and she believed it - my Gran passed away about 25 years ago. DUART CASTLE, Isle of Mull For over 700 years, Duart Castle, the seat of Clan Maclean, has dominated the view to the Sound of Mull and Loch Linnhe with its huge curtain walls and solid keep. A very good cafe there! The Isle of Mull is easily accessible by CalMac ferries from Oban, Lochaline, and Kilchoan. 2. LOCH TAY, Perthshire Loch Tay is a freshwater loch in the central highlands of Scotland, the largest body of fresh water in Perthshire. The watershed of Loch Tay traditionally formed the historic province of Breadalbane. Nearby are both Taymouth Marina and Grandtully Hotel, two favourites of mine. 3. TRAIGH BEACH, near Morar The Silver Sands of Morar are a celebrated series of beautiful sandy beaches, which pepper the coastline from Arisaig to Morar. A stunning string of white sandy beaches, with spectacular views out to the Small Isles of Rum, Eigg, Muck and Canna. 4. FALLS OF DOCHART, Killin The Falls of Dochart are waterfalls on the River Dochart at Killin in Perthshire, Scotland, near the western end of Loch Tay. The Bridge of Dochart, constructed in 1760, crosses the river at Killin offering a view of the falls as they cascade over the rocks and around the island of Inchbuie, which is the ancient burial place of the MacNab clan. 5. THE STAG, Glen Coe This guy is often to be seen walking near the car park of the Kingshouse Hotel in Glen Coe. You can sometimes get quite close to him if he’s in a friendly mood! 6. MARSCO & SLIGACHAN, Isle of Skye Marsco is the finest of the Red Hills on Skye and is well seen from Sligachan Bridge. The summit is a fantastic viewpoint with blue sea and jagged mountains all around. If you do visit Scotland (and you should!) maybe check out these places. Here’s how my little collection of Edinburgh stamps shaped up ✂️ All hand cut with scissors and a scalpel to celebrate some of my old haunts and favourite spots from around the city - they were a faff and a half but there’s something quite satisfying about the limitations and endless possibilities of a tiny rectangular stamp 🕺🏻 Thanks to those who have asked about owning one of these! Currently on my desk ✂️ Two of what will hopefully be a small collection of paper stamps ready for my next market in beautiful Edinburgh with @teagreenevents on the 23rd + 24th August at @natgalleriessco - enjoying working on these slowly from old photos I took when I lived there 😌 Dean Village and the Castle at golden hour are starting off the stamp collection, and more spots are in progress! My nails were not ready for their close up but that’s real life baby. 💅

  3. 🎨 Recently, my friend Abby asked me how I plan the colours for my illustrations out - while I would love to tell you that it’s steeped in a deep understanding of colour theory, alas it is not…! But I do think when you’re limited to choosing colours from the papers in front of you, instead of having a whole colourwheel at your disposal when you work digitally or with paint, these restrictions make putting together a vaguely harmonious palette a wee bit easier. I usually start with a hero colour that I’m drawn to or have noticed about in the world recently, and then I spend time seeing which squares of paper sit nicely next to it, choosing a mix of neutrals, brights and pastels. More recently I‘ve been painting papers with gouache to get closer to the colours I have in my mind or lighten/darken a hue. There’ll always be favourite colours I come back to frequently, like an orangey red, a light turquoise or @gfsmith’s dark Claret and Amethyst papers 🖤 I’ve used these in so many pieces now but I know I can count on them!   1. The debut album is out today, cheers to the folk who made it happen. The reason I got into guitar was through listening to Johnny Cash. In the foster house you’d never get a shot of the PlayStation because some wee guy would just be elbowing you out the way, so we’d just listen to the soundtrack. ‘Ring of Fire’ would play on Tony Hawk’s every 10 minutes and we’d all be jumping about the room singing it. It was the first tune I learned when I got a guitar. Through that I got into Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles and other musicians of the 60’s and was always obsessed with high picking melodies which became the main influence on writing tunes. It’s mad how that moment got me into music and subsequently gave me a way to deal with growing up in care. Over the last 18 months we’ve been lucky enough to sell out 6 nights at the Barrowlands and as a wee nod to that we’ve put a live version of ‘Wake Up Ma’ recorded there last year on the album. I wrote the tunes in Glasgow then recorded them down in Liverpool in Parr street studios with the main man Rich Turvey. Me and the boys had a laugh recording it and just tried keeping it close to the live versions. Looking forward to touring and playing these new tunes.
