  1. LOCATIONS INFO: 6 great places to visit in Scotland: 1. DUART CASTLE, Isle of Mull For over 700 years, Duart Castle, the seat of Clan Maclean, has dominated the view to the Sound of Mull and Loch Linnhe with its huge curtain walls and solid keep. A very good cafe there! The Isle of Mull is easily accessible by CalMac ferries from Oban, Lochaline, and Kilchoan. 2. LOCH TAY, Perthshire Loch Tay is a freshwater loch in the central highlands of Scotland, the largest body of fresh water in Perthshire. The watershed of Loch Tay traditionally formed the historic province of Breadalbane. Nearby are both Taymouth Marina and Grandtully Hotel, two favourites of mine. 3. TRAIGH BEACH, near Morar The Silver Sands of Morar are a celebrated series of beautiful sandy beaches, which pepper the coastline from Arisaig to Morar. A stunning string of white sandy beaches, with spectacular views out to the Small Isles of Rum, Eigg, Muck and Canna. 4. FALLS OF DOCHART, Killin The Falls of Dochart are waterfalls on the River Dochart at Killin in Perthshire, Scotland, near the western end of Loch Tay. The Bridge of Dochart, constructed in 1760, crosses the river at Killin offering a view of the falls as they cascade over the rocks and around the island of Inchbuie, which is the ancient burial place of the MacNab clan. 5. THE STAG, Glen Coe This guy is often to be seen walking near the car park of the Kingshouse Hotel in Glen Coe. You can sometimes get quite close to him if he’s in a friendly mood! 6. MARSCO & SLIGACHAN, Isle of Skye Marsco is the finest of the Red Hills on Skye and is well seen from Sligachan Bridge. The summit is a fantastic viewpoint with blue sea and jagged mountains all around. If you do visit Scotland (and you should!) maybe check out these places. The last six years have been the most successful period of my professional career, and I would like to thank everyone who has played their part in making this possible. The club, for initially taking a chance on someone who hadn’t played in nearly three years. And to Woodsy for encouraging me to make the move in the first place, and for training me ridiculously hard ever since. I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside some brilliant team-mates - who without, my time at the club would have been very different. The fans, for their support. Home, away… all over the world. Thank you. My family, who have been there through it all. The ups and downs, the miles, the sacrifices, the celebrations. I hope I’ve made them proud. At 37, and with a few years in me yet, I just want to play the game I love, and have played for 20+ professional seasons. I’ve played this game long enough to know that I can’t take anything for granted, and when I’ve been ‘written off’ with injuries before, every game is one more than at times, I thought I might get. I know what lies ahead as I’ve walked this road before and I’ll do it again, albeit on crutches for now. Our medical team did a great job on the pitch. The staff and surgeons at Ninewells Hospital who performed my surgery on Christmas Day, and all those who looked after me were brilliant. The club, my teammates and everyone who has sent messages for my family and I, you have all helped in giving me the best start to my recovery and I’m truly grateful. 40 tomorrow, I’ve not done too bad considering!
