  2. We never really know how much a strong woman has had to hide just to keep being seen. Bea is one of the most beautiful people I know. Beautiful in presence, in energy, in the way she lights up a room. But for years, she hid something no one could see: alopecia. I have known Bea for about seven years, and in that time I have seen how deeply it has affected her. The way she looks at herself, the way she connects with people, even the way she moves through the world. While everyone praised her body, her face, her confidence, she was quietly fighting a battle that no one noticed. I remember a conversation we had back when everyone was talking about what a “real woman” is. As if being a woman could ever be defined by one type of body, one look, one idea. And she said something I will never forget: “People put me in this box of being the pretty one, like that protects me from everything. But they have no idea what it feels like to wake up and fight to feel like a woman when the mirror shows you someone you do not recognise.” That stayed with me. Because it is true, we do not know. We do not know what someone feels when they wake up, what they hide behind a smile, or how heavy it can be to look fine when inside they are falling apart. Today, seeing Bea free, showing up, being who she truly is, is one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. Not because she has changed, but because she finally stopped hiding. And now she has decided to share her story to inspire and help other women who are living this in silence.   3. The difference a year makes. This time last year I was in hospital having surgery that we hoped would improve my chances of fertility. I’d found out I don’t have many eggs left, my ovaries are half the size they should be, I had extensive stage 2 endometriosis and my fallopian tubes were a mess. To top it all off, because I have so few eggs left, I’m heading straight for early menopause 🙃 I was just 33 when I was told all of this!! By some miracle, just as we were signing all the paperwork for IVF, we found out we were pregnant! Did you know 1 in 7 hetero couples will face infertility?! Why are we as girls not taught about this?!! Why aren’t we prepared for the reality?! Instead we grow up believing that we will all get pregnant the first time we have unprotected sex 🤯 I know not everyone’s comfortable shouting about it, but I will continue to do so because we need to be better educated. #fertility #infertility #endometriosis #endo #ivf #menopause #earlymenopause
