Spent the weekend at @libavineyard , and honestly, it felt like pressing pause on everything 🍂 Just a few minutes’ drive from Stonehenge, it’s the perfect spot if you want to see the famous stones but still come back to peace, quiet, and open countryside. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a little hideaway — alpacas and peacocks wandering freely, geese passing by, and birdsong greeting you every morning. Days here moved slowly in the best possible way — morning coffee outside wrapped in a blanket, autumn colours all around, and that crisp air that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. Evenings were all about cosying up and watching the last light fade over the vines. The hosts were so welcoming, always making sure we had everything we needed for a relaxed and peaceful stay. Equinox and Red Sky: The equinox marks the first day of astronomical spring - although weather forecasters tend to refer to meteorological spring which began on 1 March. The equinoxes happen in March and September when the Sun is exactly above the Equator, which makes day and night of equal length.   2. The view westwards from the Malvern Hills 🌳 I've seen these hills so many times from a distance but never actually walked up them until now. It's not difficult to walk up to the summit as there's a number of prepared trails to follow. Given these hills stand quite prominently in the area, they offer suberb views all around.   3. The Cumbria Way 2024 - Day 1 What a day! 27 miles covered 😅 Started by leaving home at 4:50am and left my car at The Gill Car Park, Ulverston at 9:30am. Initially the route goes through fields (many livestock! 🐄 🐑) before reaching Coniston Water 🌊 Walking alongside to Coniston Water was great to break up the fields. When I got to Coniston Town I had lunch and a pint of Cumbria Way at the Crown Inn👌 From here, you’re really in the Southern Fells and the views of mountains are fantastic ⛰️ I made my way towards Elterwater via Skelwith Force (waterfall) before reaching Chapel Stile in the Langdales. Made the most of the watering holes at the Britannia Inn and Wainwrights Inn. Due to be covered in sun cream, insect repellent and generally itchy and rashy, I stayed at the Bays Brown campsite to get a proper shower. The campsite is in amazing location in the beautiful valley of the Langdales with the mountains surrounding you.
