Pretty lost for words about today and how I’m feeling, but to sum it up in a time line which will make it easier for me… This morning we were told Dillan has central line sepsis from a bacteria called Pseudomonas. You can’t treat that with antibiotics, the line had to come out. But Dillan’s liver is also failing, his bilirubin is going up and his colour is changing. The conversations we have had and documents we have had to sign are ones I never thought I’d see. I’ve been sat in a meeting room crying with our oncologist, who had to tell us that she wouldn’t be shocked if Dillan died in theatre today if we chose to have the central line taken out. They explained that the leukemia is overwhelming Dillan’s body and his organs are shutting down, so whether we take the central line out or not, he’s got hours, possibly days left with us. We had to tell our family to come and say their goodbyes, and had his heart beat recorded in a bear to keep, it’s taken my ability to cope with this situation to the depths of where it’s ever been 💔 Our answer was “he’s fought for 4 years. If we have to say goodbye now by sending him into theatre to get his line taken out and take that risk then he’s died fighting, and we can’t just sit and watch sepsis take him, so we want the line out.” He went into theatre a few hours ago, and he came back out 🥺 I know there’s no victory in this, but it felt like a small one. Everyone clapped when his bed was wheeled back to the room. I am so happy he made it out, but we have a worrying night ahead. He is now on the palliative pain pump through a sub cut in his leg, and has some canular’s in which won’t last too long. Dillan has no central line access now 💔 Thank god for our amazing team of nurses who let us sit in their office round the corner from theatre, made us coffee and distracted us through that agonizing wait. The picture above is of me literally wanting to skip back to the ward after he was wheeled out of recovery. Thank you to our amazing family for holding it down at home and looking after the girls so we can be here all together. And thank you to everyone on here for allowing us to be off work through the go fund me ❤️

Exactly 4 years ago this night Dillan was diagnosed with Leukemia 💔 Today we were told we could go home on Palliative care tomorrow 💔 Dillan’s white blood cells have doubled from 5000 to 10,000 since yesterday, and 69% of them are Leukemia blasts. Things have all happened pretty quickly, but for now we just want to take him home. We have an apartment full of family and pure chaos which is what we need right now, no more isolation for him he’s had enough. Please keep us in your hopes and prayers 💔❤️

The incredible couple @pulse.is.racing had the idea of wanting to be shot in wedding dresses, a concept they’d never seen before in the wedding industry.
