  3. A sink in my greenhouse. I’ve wanted one ever since I saw Laura @howsitgrowingnj had put one in hers, last year. I wanted it to be unique and when I saw this pot in my local @frostsgardencentres the vision came to me. I used @makeitrustoleum clear satin sealer to make the pot watertight. Bought the beautiful tap from @allthingsfrenchstore through Etsy. The potting bench is from @gardentradingcompany . Her positive energy was infectious and her family and friends loved her dearly and being around her. Even tackling this horrible disease for over 8 years, people couldn’t believe how positive and strong she was. Most people didn’t even know Jess was carrying this around with her, as she always skipped, smiled and powered through life. We are heart broken and she will be remembered forever.   1. From the moment we set off, Fin and I had no idea just how much this race would challenge us, change us, and bring us closer together. We’ve crossed countries, faced setbacks, ran for buses (too many times), and soaked in moments I’ll never forget. From the laughs to the tears, every mile has meant something. 🇨🇳🇳🇵🇮🇳 This was THE most amazing opportunity I’ve ever had and to be honest I don’t think I can ever top it! We’ve literally been able to see parts of the world I never dreamed I’d visit! What a wild, emotional, unforgettable ride.🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️ We’ve experienced so many new things and we met so many amazing people of different cultures and backgrounds. I’ve made some lifelong friends in the team and cast, as well as learned so much more about myself and what I can accomplish.🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️ On top of that I now know that any ups and downs me and Fin will face we can obviously overcome it because we completed Race Across The World together successfully (with a few bickers)!!💃🏻 I cannot recommend travelling this way more to anyone!   2. These guys…deserve the biggest round of applause! Our team🫶🏻TEAM D🌏 They go through everything with us. From the long and rough transport to sharing all the memories. They’d watch us make questionable decisions and couldn’t intervene, just watch and record.🎥 Travelling for 2 months with people who were once strangers but then grow to be a massive part of your journey is so different but so rewarding. It’s a strange relationship because they obviously have a job to do but they ultimately became our friends (me and Fin felt like the annoying younger siblings🤣). We shared chats and laughs along with tears. We had so so so much fun (and really hard times too) but it’s such a special bond that we’ve gained solely because of this experience! My bucket list was to just go on a safari, never did I think I’d get two AND see a lioness AND a cub!🦁 We worked serving some chai tea for some money, because the budget is looking a little lower than everyone else’s?💴 Worked some more to camp and enjoy a meal with entertainment. The fireworks exploding on the tent wasn’t concerning at all!⛺️🎆 Chatted away to some locals who gave VITAL information, or helped us out big time. Got some free homemade biryani (may I add, so delicious but soooo spicy).   2. I’m capturing the rain… 🎵 Something I don’t do often enough is photograph in the rain. I think I need to plan something in for next time it rains. Photography in the rain accentuates so many surrounding features. Like the texture on buildings, the light cascading across cobbled streets, dark and moody shadows. Extra characteristics that can bring your photography to life. Now if you haven’t got a weather-sealed camera or lenses, it’s not something I’d recommend trying, but if you do, I’d definitely recommend trying to capture some unique moments in the rain.   1. 2hrs into an 11hr Sydney → Cape Town haul, I’m slouched in my comfy flight clothes, noise‑cancelling headset on, half‑watching a film when the PA crackles: “If there’s a doctor on board, please make yourself known to the aircrew.” I glance around thinking surely some big shot a&e consultant would be on board like in the movies. Two minutes later it repeats (cue spike in adrenaline) I peel off the headset, swap ‘chill‑mode’ for work-brain, and introduce myself. Out the back is a passenger in rough shape: ?OD + full‑blown panic attack. Armed with the cabin’s medical kit, a paper bag, and some canister O₂, I run through A-Es, ruled out red flags, talk them down and coach slow breathing, monitor vitals, and keep the crew calm while they debate turning the plane around. She stabilises, diversion called off, flight continues, and I got bumped to business as a thank‑you (extra leg‑room never felt so earned)🙏🏼 First mid‑air consult: ✅ Lesson learned: medicine doesn’t necessarily clock off just because we do—even at 38,000 ft in loungewear.   3. In 2017 I was a sleep-deprived student in the library buried under anatomy flashcards, convinced that surviving finals was the whole battle. Now it’s 2025 - I’ve moved to the other side of the world on my own and scrub into Sydney’s theatres with a thicker surgical portfolio and skills I once had to Google. Earned an international scholarship to learn and operate beside the experts I’ve admired, taught at conferences I once streamed online, and rotated in specialties from ICU to A&E - adding procedures I hadn’t even heard of back then, rediscovering the joy of learning new skills. Off shift, I’ve partnered with my fave brand, accumulated airmiles to new countries (an LDR helps haha), dabbled in social media, ticked off bucket list experiences (eg flung myself out a plane), and even squeezed in modelling on international commercial shoots whenever call times didn’t clash.   3. Another day, another @cadwcymruwales event. Yesterday i visited Denbigh Castle for their medieval reenactment weekend. (This is on again today). Our highlight was being able to have a go at the archery. Plus the views over the Vale of Clwyd are beautiful🤩 I’d personally tie it in with a trip to @llynbrenigdwrcymru after.   3. We’ve just returned from a night stay at Lion Lodge in Port Lympne 🦁 - our 4th stay in this amazing place and without doubt our favourite yet. Just the most magical way to kick off 2026.   2. These guys…deserve the biggest round of applause! Our team🫶🏻TEAM D🌏 They go through everything with us. From the long and rough transport to sharing all the memories. They’d watch us make questionable decisions and couldn’t intervene, just watch and record.🎥 Travelling for 2 months with people who were once strangers but then grow to be a massive part of your journey is so different but so rewarding. It’s a strange relationship because they obviously have a job to do but they ultimately became our friends (me and Fin felt like the annoying younger siblings🤣). We shared chats and laughs along with tears. We had so so so much fun (and really hard times too) but it’s such a special bond that we’ve gained solely because of this experience! Thanks guys, we love you!!💃🏻

  3. One week in one of the most beautiful countries we’ve been to so far Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, sadly only spent one week there but definitely will be back to spend more. Colombo-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya-Ella-Mirissa all such incredible places. Honestly had no idea what to expect, normally if we’re going to somewhere like London I’d look at the hotel on google maps and walk around (on maps) to find near shops without having to look at maps when we arrive there so I can just walk there as if I’ve been there (legend) ,but honestly had no idea what to expect from Sri Lanka but it definitely didn’t disappoint. #srilanka #travel #backpacking #asia #southasia #tropical #scenic #sea #mirissa

After the bravest 20 month battle, MND finally took you today and heaven gained an angel. You were so brave on such an horrific journey with the cruellest disease. You taught me the importance of faith, everlasting love, forgiveness and grace. You battled your journey with dignity, grace and peace right until the very end and I’m grateful to have held your hand through your entire journey from that earth shattering diagnosis day, to your very last breath. You were loved by so many people who will miss you dearly, and a gap will be left in many hearts. But my heart is full, despite being broken, because you were the best mummy a girl could ever wish for and you gave me pure, unconditional love for 42 years and 2 months. Telling my babies that Grandma has gone to heaven has broken my heart in a way I can never even begin describe. I’ve no idea how I’m going to live without you and my heart physically aches, but I’m drawing on all the things you have taught me… for now it’s baby steps, and always forwards, with you guiding me… May you finally rest in peace, my beautiful mummy.
