It’s been a complete privilege & a joy to work on this project - being tasked with creating a rich, charismatic home for Michelle Dockery and her husband Jasper in London over the last few years has been a dream. What started as some creative support for FF&E quickly evolved into a full transformation of this West London Victorian home, extending out into the garden, opening up the lower ground floor, and full renovation throughout. To then have the project, and our four year working relationship, recognised in @archdigest with a full home tour is an absolute bonus & career highlight for me.   2. I absolutely adore a fun hallway, it’s the first thing you see when you come in from work and these colours just bring me so much joy. I wanted to paint the kitchen red but as it was quite a new kitchen that we only had installed about 4 years ago, the husband put his foot down, so I decided to get the stairs painted instead. I found THE perfect red, not too bright, not too red - It’s called ‘Yes Chef’ from @coatpaints and I’m desperate to find somewhere to use it again in the new house. I love the covered Terrace outside the utility, I have honestly sat there in the snow with a cup of tea. And the outside kitchen is incredible.   1. Ad/paid collaboration @makeitrustoleum Chalky Wall Paints. Ahhhhhh I can’t believe this is my new living room! When the lovely girls at Rust oleum got in touch about their new chalky wall paints, I knew this room would be in trouble. Swipe to the end for the before...slight transformation, I think you’ll agree! This room has been a complete DIY job my me, There’s not one inch that I have not done something to, from plastering the walls, panelling, painting, installing beams and of course laying that dream floor! It also includes all my favourite eBay purchases that I made in the summer of lockdown 2020. The curved sofa of dreams has been upholstered in a vintage wool mohair and I’ve added a curved base to enhance its form, the dining table has been plastered with marmarino and one of my most recent finds- the vintage marble coffee table from the 70s completed the room to perfection. @makeitrustoleum chalky wall paints are the perfect backdrop, I chose ‘Antique White’ and it’s my new favourite shade, I also repainted the crittal inspired patio doors in their ‘charcoal black’ and the finish is beautiful! There’s so much to talk about in this room so my blog post will be going live on my new website tomorrow evening, you’ll be able to find the process and all the finer details on there, but for now, I hope you love what I’ve done and thank you all for your encouragement over the past few weeks! 🤍🤍🤍 Paint: antique white @makeitrustoleum Parquet floor: @quickstepfloors creamy beige oak.   2. My very extra and very early Christmas tree reveal! I usually do a super low key tree with glass baubles and lights but this year is a little bit different isn’t it? Not only would my toddler try to eat the glass decorations (she’s eaten weirder before) I also now have a lovely room to have a lovely tree, and final reason....la carona! It’s made me want to go all out this year and try to make christmas as beautiful, special and romantic as I can for my family! I selected a mix of dried, artificial and fresh foliage and then realised that I had no clue how to do a floral display 🙈 but after many tweaks I think I’ve finally got it right, super hard to photograph so swipe to see the detailed shots.   2. Today I was out with the kids. We were headed into a cafe but a woman was headed out. So we waited. Patiently. Politely. I held the door for her to walk through. She looked at my children then she looked at me. She said (in front of all of my wonderful children)…… wow, you’ve got your hands full’ (pretty standard at this point to be honest) but then she said ‘rather you than me’. I mean. Honestly?   3. On the list of COMPLETELY essential and COMPLETELY insane pre-move jobs is digging out our climbing frame….. I got it for ten quid off Facebook a few years ago and then painted it last summer. The kids adore it, I adore it, Mr @iainbroome is indifferent. But it IS coming with us. So I need to dig it out, chip off all of the old concrete and then re-fill the gert big hole it will leave in the garden. When I told the new owners I was taking it with us they were also indifferent 🤣 it appears not everyone views a vintage rainbow climbing frame of joy as a must have in this day and age…… it’s more than a climbing frame to me though, it’s a bit of art in our outside space, a burst of colour, a sculpture. I dream of an enormous wild wooded garden one day with sculptures scattered around and hidden in amongst the trees. Our kitchen ceiling wanted to come on today to thank all 20k of you for following its account, because let’s face it, you’re not here for my “daily” posts, reels, videos, tutorials and ads are you? 🤪 My inability to do the things that would grow my account has been relentless 🤦🏼‍♀️. It’s not that the numbers don’t matter - they represent a rather amazing community. It’s just that I’m here because after a rollercoaster of a reno, and feeling very bruised after experiencing some of the worst aspects of the construction industry, Insta was a way for me to focus on what we’ve achieved with this beautiful old house. What I found on here was so much better than I could have hoped for - a remarkable group of like minded, interesting, talented people and an overwhelmingly positive, supportive vibe. I’ve laughed, cried, felt buoyed up, learned so much, been motivated by your incredible achievements with your own homes and made friends.   2. Thought I’d pop the kitchen on my grid today because it’s been a while. For any new followers who haven’t seen the stained glass ceiling - or lay light - this was the dream surprise of our reno. It had been covered by a suspended ceiling for over 50 years. Those Victorians could be quite flamboyant! . I was reading about Victorian slang yesterday, and while the phrase for feeling down in the dumps, “got the morbs”, seems apt for lockdown blues, the word I felt most deserved a revival was “chuckaboo”, a term of endearment for a dear friend.   3. Thank you for all the likes, comments and Story shares on my last post. I’m still in awe of our kitchen ceiling 6 years on - never imagined myself uttering those words 😂 - and I always struggle with how to follow it. . So, here’s the master en-suite, which Pinterest helped me imagine and @hetherington.newman helped us create. The first bath I took in here partly emptied itself through one of the light fittings in the dining room. No idea why, but it hasn’t happened since 😅 I believe it may have been karma for the time I left the bath running in a country house hotel then got engrossed in a copy of Vogue, blissfully unaware it was overflowing into the dining room below...😳🤦🏼‍♀️😘

My dad is a carpenter and because of this, Ralph has been been into building since he was tiny. He gave his Popsy the dimensions he needed for his project and then made it happen - apparently it’s so I can bring him tea and biscuits in bed!
