  2. I loved doing this panelling and would panel the whole house if I could 😂 Here are my top tips: •start with the dado rail. We put ours so it was central to our door panels. •draw it all out on paper first and double check measurements before you go and buy how much you need. Our panels are about 15cm above and below the dado rail. •I’d really recommend using a laser level as it makes it really quick and easy to get a straight line. Use this to determine your lines, rather than lining up with walls, ceiling or skirting (as old houses are wonky!). •paint the wall panelling in the same paint finish as the walls. If you’re using pine / wood moulding then you’ll need to prime it first. •use adhesive (such as No More Nails) to attach to the walls. You may want to use the odd panel pin nail to secure into place if you are using chunky moulding or your walls are uneven. We used @oracdecor_uk for our panelling: Dado P8030 Moulding PX201 Walls are painted in Vintage Vogue by Benjamin Moore. #bedroompanelling #wallpanelling #edwardianhouse #bedroommakeover #bedroomdesign

  3. I keep seeing reels about “slow” renovations - it bothers me more than it should as I think it’s normal for it to take years! We’ve not been in the position do to everything in one go, so have saved up, done what we can ourselves, gone without holidays etc and taken out the odd loan to get where we are with this house. All you need to do is cut out five bell shapes all the same size. You can download a free bell template on my blog today (simply click the link in my profile or the my link in stories which will be added to my highlights). Fold the bells down the middle before layering the pieces of paper one on top of each other, secured with glue. Add some glue along the spine to secure a loop of thread in order to be able to hang your decoration, and add a craft bell at the base. A mini bow on top completes the look!   3. Ad / Hand on my heart, I can say that this weather clock from @bramwellbrown has been on my wish list for my home for over five years. There is something just so magical and whimsical about this illustrated mechanical clock which has an internal barometer so that it can predict the weather, as well as tell the time. I also love the fact that it’s made by an independent company in England. Inside the box, you’ll find the name of the person who made your clock and a super interesting notebook on how the clock works. It’s been a complete privilege & a joy to work on this project - being tasked with creating a rich, charismatic home for Michelle Dockery and her husband Jasper in London over the last few years has been a dream. What started as some creative support for FF&E quickly evolved into a full transformation of this West London Victorian home, extending out into the garden, opening up the lower ground floor, and full renovation throughout.   2. I absolutely adore a fun hallway, it’s the first thing you see when you come in from work and these colours just bring me so much joy. I wanted to paint the kitchen red but as it was quite a new kitchen that we only had installed about 4 years ago, the husband put his foot down, so I decided to get the stairs painted instead. I found THE perfect red, not too bright, not too red - It’s called ‘Yes Chef’ from @coatpaints and I’m desperate to find somewhere to use it again in the new house.   1. So there was only a massive disappointment under this carpet. Lovely orange and cream 70’s tiles that contained asbestos. The wc had bright blue ones too. We had them removed and now we have a sticky floor with chunks gauged out of it. You can now get sticky feet followed up with a layer of dust by walking into any other room, yummm🤘🏻 Original plan was to sand the floorboards and paint a diamond tile pattern onto them but looking at the state of the floorboards, I’m thinking tile it! I reckon there would have been tiles in the hallway originally anyway.   2. ✨my Midas touch was feeling a little rusty and dusty so jumped back on the golden horse and gave myself a neck workout on these 11ft high ceilings!Here’s my first golden touch in this house. The rest of the house may look like a dusty, messy squat right now but at least the sun is always shining bright in here. This is the one and only good ceiling in the house so didn’t want to go messing with it to fit a more statement ceiling rose, my old friend gold always comes to the rescue.   1. Ad/paid collaboration @makeitrustoleum Chalky Wall Paints. Ahhhhhh I can’t believe this is my new living room! When the lovely girls at Rust oleum got in touch about their new chalky wall paints, I knew this room would be in trouble. Swipe to the end for the before...slight transformation, I think you’ll agree! This room has been a complete DIY job my me, There’s not one inch that I have not done something to, from plastering the walls, panelling, painting, installing beams and of course laying that dream floor! It also includes all my favourite eBay purchases that I made in the summer of lockdown 2020. The curved sofa of dreams has been upholstered in a vintage wool mohair and I’ve added a curved base to enhance its form, the dining table has been plastered with marmarino and one of my most recent finds- the vintage marble coffee table from the 70s completed the room to perfection. @makeitrustoleum chalky wall paints are the perfect backdrop, I chose ‘Antique White’ and it’s my new favourite shade, I also repainted the crittal inspired patio doors in their ‘charcoal black’ and the finish is beautiful! There’s so much to talk about in this room so my blog post will be going live on my new website tomorrow evening, you’ll be able to find the process and all the finer details on there, but for now, I hope you love what I’ve done and thank you all for your encouragement over the past few weeks! 🤍🤍🤍 Paint: antique white @makeitrustoleum Parquet floor: @quickstepfloors creamy beige oak.   2. My very extra and very early Christmas tree reveal! I usually do a super low key tree with glass baubles and lights but this year is a little bit different isn’t it? Not only would my toddler try to eat the glass decorations (she’s eaten weirder before) I also now have a lovely room to have a lovely tree, and final reason....la carona! It’s made me want to go all out this year and try to make christmas as beautiful, special and romantic as I can for my family! I selected a mix of dried, artificial and fresh foliage and then realised that I had no clue how to do a floral display 🙈 but after many tweaks I think I’ve finally got it right, super hard to photograph so swipe to see the detailed shots.   3. BABY NUMBER 4 is on the way! So happy to reveal that I’m 14 weeks pregnant, our dreams of having a big family are coming true this November. The past few weeks have been tough on my body (won’t bore you with the details) so had to rest but starting to feel back to my normal energetic self again Woop! I know what you are thinking, we must be crazy- 4 kids is a big number but myself @calum_alejandro are so ready to embrace the all chaos and all the love...although as you can see, Palmer is not quite as convinced, especially if it turns out to be another girl ha! Anyway, I know you are all here for the interiors so I won’t be going on about it too much- don’t fear! Only change is that I just won’t be plastering any walls anytime soon, having said that, looking forward to a weekend of light diy and getting this cinema room finished FINALLY! Our kitchen ceiling wanted to come on today to thank all 20k of you for following its account, because let’s face it, you’re not here for my “daily” posts, reels, videos, tutorials and ads are you? 🤪 My inability to do the things that would grow my account has been relentless 🤦🏼‍♀️. It’s not that the numbers don’t matter - they represent a rather amazing community. It’s just that I’m here because after a rollercoaster of a reno, and feeling very bruised after experiencing some of the worst aspects of the construction industry, Insta was a way for me to focus on what we’ve achieved with this beautiful old house. What I found on here was so much better than I could have hoped for - a remarkable group of like minded, interesting, talented people and an overwhelmingly positive, supportive vibe. I’ve laughed, cried, felt buoyed up, learned so much, been motivated by your incredible achievements with your own homes and made friends. It’s been a better form of therapy than I could have hoped for and I want to thank you for all the likes, comments, shares and DMs. As Insta chuckaboos go, you are hands down the bee's knees, the cat’s pyjamas and the dog’s whatnots.   2. Thought I’d pop the kitchen on my grid today because it’s been a while. For any new followers who haven’t seen the stained glass ceiling - or lay light - this was the dream surprise of our reno. It had been covered by a suspended ceiling for over 50 years. Those Victorians could be quite flamboyant! . I was reading about Victorian slang yesterday, and while the phrase for feeling down in the dumps, “got the morbs”, seems apt for lockdown blues, the word I felt most deserved a revival was “chuckaboo”, a term of endearment for a dear friend.   3. Thank you for all the likes, comments and Story shares on my last post. I’m still in awe of our kitchen ceiling 6 years on - never imagined myself uttering those words 😂 - and I always struggle with how to follow it. . So, here’s the master en-suite, which Pinterest helped me imagine and @hetherington.newman helped us create. The first bath I took in here partly emptied itself through one of the light fittings in the dining room. No idea why, but it hasn’t happened since 😅 I believe it may have been karma for the time I left the bath running in a country house hotel then got engrossed in a copy of Vogue, blissfully unaware it was overflowing into the dining room below...😳🤦🏼‍♀️😘

  3. Someone is really happy with himself and the reason is because he made that table from scratch by himself 👉🏼. My dad is a carpenter and because of this, Ralph has been been into building since he was tiny. He gave his Popsy the dimensions he needed for his project and then made it happen - apparently it’s so I can bring him tea and biscuits in bed!   2. As promised... a reel that features the wall mural I had chosen for my rustic boutique hotel inspired bathroom. This design is called HackFall and it’s in Green (also available in grey) You can buy this from @muralswallpaper ... it’s so easy, give them your measurements (width and drop) and they do the rest! It arrived beautifully packaged with very easy to follow instructions! It only cost £140 too .... which was much less than I imagined and personally i think it’s worth every penny! This is a large bathroom for a cottage so it was a challenge in itself to create something that worked with the cottage but equally projected a decadent boutique hotel bathroom feel! I will record a video explaining my design process and add to my stories this weekend which I can then save to highlights! I can bring all of you lovely new followers up to speed then with the before and after pictures! Which we all love!!! I made the console for the double vanity out of reclaimed scaffold boards that my builder gave me. I made the mirrors mostly out of left over wood and trims .... and those tall proud posts holding the shower glass screen together were reclaimed beams from eBay ... costing £100 - bargain!!
