If you live in the northern hemisphere this is an important one 😴 check your sleep (and be honest). How many hours are you getting? Are you scrolling way into the night? Likelihood is you’re going to feel even sleepier through the darker months (definitely in my case!!) so its a good time to work out the not so great parts in your sleep hygiene and start to implement more good parts (content incoming !!) 🌲WEEKLY OUTDOORSY DAYS !! I’ve done this two winters running now and the difference it made was unreal. Getting yourself out of the house (and preferably to a nature spot) just for a short while even when the weather is rubbish will transform your autumn/winter experience (especially if you’re a rural girl living in the city like me) 🥘 meal prepping/emergency meals - with less daylight hours, but the same working hours (ridiculous) all I want to do when I get home is sleep. Having easy nutritious options in the house means the chances of you eating real food (and not doritos - guilty) for dinner are much higher - make it easy ✨Protected time for JOY 💖 Just like your protected lunch break, carve out some space in your day for something you actually like (because I know its not social media and yet we’re scrolling for hours…) It’s worth saying that l’m coming from a preventative stance here.   3. HOW TO STAY HAPPY THIS WINTER ⬇️🤎 1. Prioritise what brings you joy ✨ If your whole day is filled with work and no play, its no wonder getting out of bed is a struggle… I hereby give you permission to put yourself first and plan things into your day that you’ll actively look forward to 🤎 It could be a trip to your favourite coffee shop, making your favourite breakfast, setting aside time to read your book uninterrupted, anything you like! 2. Make everything easier 🤎 I have EMERGENCY MEALS in my house at all times. These are quick but nutritious and tasty meals with zero faff (I LOVE microwave grain pouches (hello @merchantgourmet), and @bolfoods for this!) AUTOMATE everything you can 🌟 Big food shop? Book online 🛒 Toiletries? Subscription services (I use @wildrefill for deodorant, @totmorganic for period products, and @heyestrid for razors and have done for years) 🧼 3. Wake/sleep at the same time every day 🌞 Ok I find this one so difficult buuuut I’m getting there! I need 9hrs sleep just to feel human the next day and this can increase even more in the Winter so my biggest challenge personally is getting to bed on time in the evenings - I’ll get there one day! I also use a @lumie.lights sunrise lamp which has worked wonders for me 🤎 4. GET OUTDOORS!🌲 If you’ve been here a while you’ll know all about the weekly outdoorsy day rule 🌿 Getting outside and out of the city especially is so important for me just to feel human. Making your outdoorsy days (doesn’t have to be a full day - literally 30mins will make a difference!) regular and non-negotiable will have a huge impact on your wellbeing this season 🤎 5. Prioritise light 🌞 We’re getting to the time of year where we go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Try to implement a walk outside on your lunch break or consider purchasing a broad spectrum lamp at your desk ✨ 6. Please, for the love of god, TAKE YOUR VITAMIN D 💊 If you live in Scotland, you’re not getting enough, full stop. I love the @wildnutritionltd brand for their subscription but you can find Vitamin D in your local chemist too 🤎 [Ad - features some previously gifted items/experiences] 💖 #sadprevention

Holiday review: Bella Italia, Lake Garda If you are looking for a budget friendly holiday with loads to do and places to explore, then I would highly recommend this fantastic @eurocampholidays The first thing that appealed to me was that car hire is not needed. Bella Italia is only a 20 minute taxi ride away from Verona Airport and only 2km away from the nearest town of Peschiera. The resort itself is big and we chose to stay in this comfortable safari tent, which is Eurocamp’s cheapest accommodation option. It was also literally only a one minute walk from the lakeside beach. We are happy in tent accommodation, but there are plenty of lodge options if canvas isn’t for you! One thing Bella Italia is know for is its huge pool complex. It is so much fun with water features and slides for big and little kids. Also, to keep the kids happy, you will find a kids’ club and a mini fairground. Our favourite thing was the lakeside beach. It felt amazing to swim in the warm, clear, fresh water and we loved the paddleboard and pedalo hire, which was very reasonably priced. I am not the type of person to stay in one place, so we did plenty of trips too: We took a boat from peschiera to Sirmione, an absolutely stunning Garda town where we visited the waterfront castle, are gelato and fresh lemonade (and I got a bit of a taste for Aperol Spritz) The kids really enjoyed visiting the zoo, Parco Natura Viva, where we were able to spend all day exploring and playing. There is a safari option too, if you do decide to hire a car. I couldn’t go to this part of the world and not go to Venice. We took the train, which was clean and easy to navigate, and enjoyed a beautiful day in this bucket list city. And, oh my word, the food. I had so many delicious meals and the kids were more than happy with all of the pizza and pasta. I had assumed Italy would be expensive to eat out but, to be honest, it was cheaper than eating at your average UK chain restaurant. #eurocamp #campingineurope #campingwithkids #safaritent #lakegarda #budgetholiday #familyholiday #soloparenttravel #wildhoodadventures #review
