  1. Let's talk about INK. My favourite ink is Caligo Safe Wash ink by @cranfieldcolours. It's one that I use in my linocut workshops and one that I've used for years to create my prints. It's oil based ink but is non-toxic and washes off with soapy water (as opposed to having to use any spirits to clean your surfaces/hands). It rolls out like a dream and comes in an ever-expanding range of ink colours. I'll be doing a Patreon post soon about how I use Extender in my art practice, too. I've always had trouble with drying times for my prints - I try to give myself a good couple of weeks before I need a print as drying times can be slow if your studio is humid/it's cold in my experience. Black is a pretty 'easy' ink to get dry but I've ALWAYS had trouble with getting blue ink to dry! Is anyone else the same?   2. I had a few folks ask to see the reduction linocut I created when I was a Wildcard last Summer on Sky Art’s @artistoftheyear - here she is! She’s a three colour reduction designed, carved and printed sitting on the grass by the river at St. Pancras Basin London. Swipe to see the view we had to work with, it was a tricky one but I wanted a challenge (as an Artist who usually works with more natural landscapes, it certainly was that, but it was on my birthday so I couldn’t resist!). I went with warm ink colours and focussed on the barges and water. I wrote a blog post on my website all about my experiences that day. What a fun journey this has been - from a hand carved linocut print to a book cover! 📖 ‘A Flight of Saints’ was released last week, the debut novel by Elizabeth Braithwaite. ^You can see in the process video above that I started by designing, carving and printing a linocut. Next comes the editing once scanned - refining features, adding colour, tweaking details. The whole process took weeks but it’s very cool to be holding the book cover in my hands now. This is one of those pieces that I refer to as an 'Inbox breaker' 🤩 The amount of DMs I had when you caught a glimpse of this beautiful beast 🤯 This Beithcraft sideboard is new in this week and tbh I'm in no hurry to sell it 😂 Probably the heaviest sideboard I've ever lifted 💪, this is a real quality piece in the most beautiful light shade of teak that works perfectly in a modern home. They're super rare as were produced in low volume in Beith, Scotland in the 60s for the most discerning of customers.   2. Fresh ball bearings are very smooth and hard to drill into because the drill bits can’t find purchase! that’s the principle of how armour works. I want to put many holes into this, so roughing up the surface without deforming the shape too much makes it easier to work with. You can probably guess what these will be used for! The last time I had a really really successful post (2 years ago) it was a nonsensical process vid of a tiny morningstar, so maybe this will whet the algo #WIP #Ballbearing #process

  3. A nice relaxing day of carving very tiny schlongus handles for these 1/12 scale bollock daggers. They were a genuine thing from history, very fashionable when worn at the front of the belt! And suspiciously ergonomic. In other news, I think I’d like to buy a big truck. Maybe I’ll do something to the exhaust to make it louder.   2. Placing the shield/rod as close to the lash line as possible is one of the most important steps to achieving the perfect lift! The lashes that I am sticking away are what’s called the ‘false lash layer’. These are lashes that sit above the lash line, and if they are included in the lift it will cause an underwhelming result as the rest of the lashes will be too far away from the shield/rod 😟 This client in particular had quite a few lashes that needed to be glued - in this case I usually give the client the option of leaving them to blend in with the lash lift or to trim them down ♥️ Using a microfibre brush from @browfactoruk and @elleebanauk extra strong tube adhesive ✨ @labfactorpro ambassador 🫶🏻 #lashlift #lashlifteducation #lashliftspecialist #lashliftnorwich

There is no end to it and there never, ever should be. If they could reach you they would surely say… “Make my time on earth count loudly, so I’ve not lived in vain. Use the love we shared to make more love and not more pain.” If you are struggling to move on, to find the way to carry on. Without them. This is it. Use the love. Carry them with you in all that you do, using their love as the source. It is what they would want. Tell their stories, mention their name, feel their love – and share it. Do not let the pain of their loss overshadow the love that they created whilst alive. Make them count. Remember, grief is the price you pay for a love divine.   2. This project has been 4 years in the making and now it’s finally ready. A space to finally call my own and have the freedom to do whatever I like.
