Should I have just bought a new sofa?! 😬 Here’s a list of spanners thrown in the works during the banana sofa transformation… 🍌 It was so much heavier than we anticipated, and I nearly crushed my upholsterer (and friend) @jessedupreezdesign on the stairs when we collected it 🍌 It didn’t fit in their van 🍌 Realised it wasn’t going to fit through the door to my flat 🍌 Took over a month to find the right fabric, then had to order it from America 🍌 The inside was completely knackered and everything had to be replaced, including the springs and webbing 🍌 Was a “learning experience” for Jesse due to the curve 🍌 Had to book a mechanical hoist to get it in through my window 🍌 Still took five of us to get it in (including the hoist guy) But do I love it?   2. Appreciation post for my 1bed South London flat ❤️ I bought this flat back in 2017 (can’t believe that was nine years ago, omg!) And apart from the house I grew up in, this is the longest I’ve lived in one place. The flat was brand new when I moved in and was basically just a plain beige box. The first thing I did after getting the keys was rip up the cream carpet in the living room, bedroom and hallway and replace it with a hard wood floor (best decision EVER), and since then I’ve just used my home as a giant canvas to develop my signature interior design style on and express my personality! Will I move? Sure, eventually. But I’m in no rush, and I love my little corner of London, right by the river. I’m also not someone who easily co-habits and moving up the property ladder in London when you live alone is kinda hard. So, for now I’ll just keep switching up my decor, building new pieces of furniture and making the most of the space I have 🌈🙌🏻❤️ #colourfuldecor #interiordesign #colorfulhomes #boldinteriors #furnitureupcycle

Proud of all my designs and builds to date and lots more in the pipeline 🛠️ Recently though, my time has been mostly spent either travelling or completely absorbed in client work—the bar I’ve designed is only a few weeks from opening and it’s taking a lot of my energy, hence why I’ve been a little less present on here than usual. Exciting news though….Animals have started arriving in my life! We picked up my partner’s kittens yesterday (names still tbc) and this coming Saturday, I’m gonna be the proud parent of a little whippet pup! 🥹 I can’t quite believe it’s happening tbh. And they were exactly what I needed to create the prettiest under deck skirting! They are a thick durable plastic (but totally look like metal!), weather & fade resistant. The chevron pattern would have taken me weeks if I tried to DIY it with wood slats. I thought of so many other uses for these . They would look really cute as window shutters, even wall decor.   2. One of my best DIY‘s, and also one that received the most doubts. I always think of DIY‘s if I were to sell my house. Would I remove it because it doesn’t look good, or am I proud of the way it turned out. This one is a keeper. Some FAQS… - The control panel is on the top. Each piece is 2’x4’ and I attached them to my deck joists and posts. They are waterproof, easy to trim and they look like metal but are actually a thick plastic.   2. Filing cabinets turned bougie planters! I got these jankosaurus cabinets for free on FB marketplace, and I’m amazed how a little time and elbow grease totally transformed them. I freakin love DIY, man. The possibilities are absolutely endless if you’re willing to show up and try. (IB: @builds_by_kristen) — Here’s what I used: Castor Wheels (6 per planter) Self-drilling Sheet Screws for castors (24 per planter) 3/4” drill bit for drainage holes (15-20 holes per) (2 cans) Rustoleum Rust Reformer as a primer (2 cans) Rustoleum Textured Spray Paint (3 cans) Rustoleum High Performance Enamel in Matte Black (2 cans) Rustoleum UltraCover Matte Clear Lined bottom of planters with 5-gallon buckets from Walmart, cardboard, branches, and recyclable plastics. Tbh I ‘still’ 😆 prefer them too. I booked leave off work this week to break the back in finishing repointing the cottage. I’ve had a very productive week, and am over half way. Guessing about another 5 days should do it. 🤞🏼 It’s not all gone to plan, with illness, running out of sand and bad weather, but on the whole I guess I’m doing alright for a girl. 💪🏼 Its been tough going, my arms, hands, and actually all of me are really aching, and I’ve had enough of the mess and dust. But you know this girl, ever determined to see it through. I just hope there’s a bloody good bottle of fizz on that finish line to celebrate 🤣🍾🥂 So it’s a much needed rest for me today.   3. It’s a bit of a moody Monday here after yesterday’s sunshine. I did intend on getting out and doing a bit of gardening after work, but it’s quite dull and showery so I’ve been drawn to sitting in here instead. If you’ve seen my stories, I’m still cracking on with repointing the outside of the house. It’s a mission and most other things round here are getting a bit neglected, including posting on here (sorry 😕). But I seem to have found a good balance of weekends of stone and evenings of catching up with life inside and the garden.
