  2. Sometimes there’s mystery in what draws us to things, people or places… With Oahu, I can’t quite put my finger on it. I tried to explain it in an earlier post. I won’t try again 😀 A few weeks ago I took a helicopter ride over this island I love so much. I’d done that several times before, but not right over the Ko’olau Range, and not during sunset. Wowzers! I was feeling so happy and grateful, thanks @magnum_helicopters for showing me something I’d never seen before and giving me one more reason to love this place! I’m glad the island didn’t get hit by a missile.🚀(!) I’m curious to hear people’s reflections on how it felt to sit in that mental space for 30 minutes until it became clear it was a false alarm? I was not on the Island, and only heard about it after I knew it was not true. Today I saw death threats were being made against the worker who made the mistake. 😒I guess we know that a crisis always brings out the worst in people, but I bet it also brings out the best. Hoping to read some positivity here. 🙂

  3. Lately I’ve been meeting a lot of “lost” people that seem to suffer from a crisis of confidence. I’m trying to help where I can. You don’t always have to understand the path forward. It’s OK to be lost at times. Crisis begets growth. In fact, some research shows that crisis is one of the few things that can really change us after age 25. If you’re feeling this way, just know that things can change in a moment — a chance occurrence can change your life forever. In the meantime, fill your brain with good ideas, follow the signs that life is sending to you, be open to what’s possible. If you’re doing OK in life right now, give your smile and empathy to strangers and friends. We never know what someone is going through. What does all this have to do with this photo?   2. A throwback to last Saturday when it was still winter 🤣 The weather has improved this week, and we had a few actual days of summer! ☀️ And I know like me, you love to see a still. Tbh I ‘still’ 😆 prefer them too. I booked leave off work this week to break the back in finishing repointing the cottage. I’ve had a very productive week, and am over half way. Guessing about another 5 days should do it. 🤞🏼 It’s not all gone to plan, with illness, running out of sand and bad weather, but on the whole I guess I’m doing alright for a girl. 💪🏼 Its been tough going, my arms, hands, and actually all of me are really aching, and I’ve had enough of the mess and dust.   3. It’s a bit of a moody Monday here after yesterday’s sunshine. I did intend on getting out and doing a bit of gardening after work, but it’s quite dull and showery so I’ve been drawn to sitting in here instead. If you’ve seen my stories, I’m still cracking on with repointing the outside of the house. I’m please to tell you that this gorgeous Peperomia argyreia, also know as the watermelon Peperomia is back to full health after I accidentally over watered her in August. I will do an updated post next week to show you how she is getting on. Please see my care tips below: . ☀️ LIGHT: These beauties love bright indirect light. Be sure to rotate the plant once or twice a week for even and rounded growth. If you are south facing, place it back around 2-3 foot as their leaves are prone to burning. . 💧 WATER: Water once the soil is practically dry. When you do water it give it a good soak making sure the water passes through 2 or 3 time. Be sure the pot has sufficient drainage holes to allow excess water to seep through before returning to your decorative pot. I use filtered water as tap water causes browning on their leaves. . 🌧HUMIDITY: I try to keep the room at about 55-65% humidity as I have lots of tropical plants in the same room. I also give mine a good fine misting every other day in the summer to keep their leaves nice and cool. . 👨‍🍳 FOOD: I use a few drops of liquid fertiliser in a litre of water once a month during growing season and don’t fertilise at all in winter. . 🍁 SOIL: She loves a well draining soil mix.
