  3. I stepped on the scale this morning and it said I was up 2 lbs. The old me? She would’ve let that number ruin her entire day. She would’ve convinced herself she’d failed and probably thrown in the towel. This version of me still felt disappointed…but instead of spiraling, I stopped and asked myself, “What has life looked like lately?” Graduation. A kitchen renovation with no real kitchen. Birthday parties. Eating whatever I could make work. Life has been full. And sometimes that means your routine isn’t going to look perfect. So instead of obsessing over the things I can’t control right now, I’m focusing on what I can. Getting my steps in. Getting my ass to the gym. Making the best food choices I can with the situation I’m in. And reminding myself that one busy season doesn’t erase months (or years) of consistency. And I still look Hot AF, at 46😂 A huge shout out to Emma @eh_fitness_coaching for helping me build this mindset. A year ago, I would’ve thought one bad week meant I was back at square one. She’s taught me that progress isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up, adjusting when life gets messy, and trusting that consistency always wins. Balance. Patience. Acceptance. Bake Off Technical: Gala Pie Let’s start by saying that the tin they used on the show has been discontinued by Lakeland so I used a meatloaf tin that @thelatebloomeruk sent me the link to (I’ve since had a voicenote from him saying don’t use it because it doesn’t work…bit late…) Meat choice: I think mine was too fatty. But the recipe suggests you grind your own. I mean, can you imagine. Pastry: after I calmed down a bit, I nibbled on the corner and it had nice flavour. If you like pies then you should follow @chefcalum because he makes literal pie art All in all, an unmitigated disaster but a humbling experience and it’s good to have those sometimes… Happy weekend!   3. Bake Off Technical : school cake So they weren’t allowed to use an electric whisk or stand mixer this week. So I didn’t either. Until I had to. But it was only for the sprinkles. Flavours of nostalgia here so can’t complain but it really was VERY dry. The custard helped but so would a splash of milk in the batter. Never thought I’d make my own sprinkles but glad I can now tick that off the list of things Bake Off made me do that I’ll never do again Faff Rating: 7/10 if you make the sprinkles Taste Rating: 6/10 Worth your time?
