Part of the @buzzworkslife group, the restaurant itself is gorgeous and modern with a welcoming vibe. They are also offering up 30 wines by the glass which I absolutely love as sometimes you don’t need a bottle and it’s nice to have a good selection to choose from. We ordered from the daytime menu and both myself and my Dad went for the Crab Linguine with Fennel, Pink Grapefruit and Chilli. Whilst my Mum went for the Wild Mushrooms on Toast. We also couldn’t resist sides of Mac & Cheese and Chilli Fries. We finished with a round of teas and coffees. We had a lovely lunch and it was great that half of the restaurant was doggy friendly meaning Dexy could come too! N E W O P E N I N G 🍽️ [ad/pr invite] Small Plates, Good Wine & Great Times at Brand New @dublinstreetsocial 🍷🥩🌱 I’m back with another exciting new opening for you guys and you’ll find this one in Edinburgh’s gorgeous New Town. @dublinstreetsocial is a new bar and bistro offering up small plates perfect for sharing, great wine as well as bonus points for being doggy friendly. We shared three of their small plates as a main and my favourite just had to be the Scottish Sirloin Steak on a bed of Lyonnaise Potatoes and Warm Bread just perfect for soaked up the juices and all of that wild garlic and bone marrow butter. Rich, indulgent and absolutely delicious! We also tried the Charcoal Barbecued Boneless Chicken Thighs with a Chimichurri Mayo which were tender and tasty and the Confit Garlic and Chilli Flat Breads with Teriyaki Pork Shoulder and a Sesame & Lime Slaw. For dessert we enjoyed the Salted Caramel and Chocolate Ganache Tart with a Caramelised Banana Ice Cream - the ice cream was incredible! A strong 10/10. We also had a lovely bottle of wine but I’ll definitely be back to try their lovely looking cocktail menu. The welcome was warm and friendly despite the pouring rain and we had such a lovely visit with tasty food and great wine.   3. Butta Burger 🧡 (PR Invite) Outrageously delicious food that you can’t help but just get stuck into🔥 You guys know by now how much I love @buttaburger_ ! So I’m super excited to be collaborating with @edinburghfoodcourt to showcase some of their new menu items😍 We visited @buttaburger_ the other week and were treated to an absolute feast! Including their new chicken platters, dip roulette, gravy drip and house lemonade. I love how the new additions are more sharing style so perfect for enjoying with friends🫶🏻 We went as a group of 4 and got lots to share so you can get a bit of everything 😍 Including: -Reuben beef burger with beef gravy drip -Chicken platter with the honey, miso wings; Kiev fingers and Caesar fingers -2x dip roulettes so we could try every dip in the menu 🤣 This is the dream for any sauce lovers like me!!! -Mozzarella bites -Normal and togarashi fries -House lemonade Everything was delicious but the highlight for me had to be the beef gravy drip. It took an already delicious burger to a whole new level 🫠 I also love the Kiev fingers dipped in the bonnet hot sauce for the perfect spicy, savoury, garlic filled bite 🔥 Not to mention the chicken itself was juicy on the inside and super crispy on the outside- really does so the best fried chicken! Trust me @buttaburger_ is an Edinburgh must and I wil 100% be visiting again very soon.   2. SO... I’m going to be on TELLY! 📺 At the beginning of last year I went down to London to film for a show called Beat the Chef for Channel 4. I’m one of the judges on the ‘Food Jury’, alongside other fabulous foodies from across the UK. We felt that one starter, two tacos and a sharing nachos was the perfect amount of food between two. Ernesta’s fav was her chicken taco (although was clearly eyeing up the mushroom taco) and Ellie’s fav were the nachos. They had toppings on every layer and no nacho was missing flavour 😍 The atmosphere was bright, fun and comforting and the staff members were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome and were encouraged to leave feedback at the end which we thought was a great way for a new business to gain their customers opinion 🫶🏻 If you love Mexican food and want to try out a new spot in Edinburgh, head down to Leith to try Paloma and you won’t be disappointed. They have many vegetarian options and can easily veganise most of them.🌱 Their mocktail menu had amazing flavours like pine, cucumber, and ginger. We wanted to try them all, but in the end, Ellie chose Apple & Fennel, and Ernesta went for Rhubarb & Custard. They were absolutely delicious! We loved the fact that they were using leftover parts of fennel and rhubarb to create them, so there wouldn’t be any waste.♻️ Now, onto the food… We had: 🥒 Pickle plate; olives, pickles, pickle butter, sourdough 🫓 Hummus with fennel, radish, and chimichurri 🥔 Sweet potato with miso, lime, spring onion, coriander, coconut, and yoghurt 🍅 Tomato salad with cucumber, ponzu, and nori And of course, some desserts: 🍫 70% chocolate ganache with banana and muscovado 🥛 Melktart with pickled rhubarb Each dish was made in front of us. It was fascinating to watch chef Mara create them and give us detailed explanations of their ingredients and preparation. Ellie’s favourites were pickle plate and sweet potato, which is the most popular dish on the menu (we understand why!). Ernesta loved the tomato salad for its freshness and the melktart for being creamy and light. The atmosphere was bright, laid back, and comforting. It really felt like we were sitting in someone’s living room catching up. We were made to feel very welcome, and the service was top notch. So if you’re looking for a place to catch up with friends in a relaxed atmosphere and share some plates of delicious food, we wouldn’t look further. We 100% recommend this place! Can’t believe I didn’t come here sooner! ☕️🍜 🥢 @singaporecoffeehouse 📍 Canonmills, Edinburgh This cosy little corner cafe only has four tables, so expect a queue if you’re heading there at peak times - especially on weekends. We went on Sunday around 2pm and just about grabbed the last table (lunch finishes at 3). The whole place feels like a proper hidden gem. Everything they do is inspired by the organised chaos of Singapore’s food culture - a mix of Chinese, Indian, Malay, Indonesian, and even British influences. We started with drinks, and they make them the traditional kopitiam way - no machines, just pure skill from their baristas. ☕ Kopi – Classic Singaporean coffee, brewed strong and mixed with condensed milk. Smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. 🫖 Teh Halia – A ginger infused chai, pulled to perfection with condensed and evaporated milk. Sweet, warming, and full of flavour. For food, we wanted something hearty and comforting, so we went for: 🥜 Satay Bee Hoon – Thin rice noodles drenched in rich peanut satay sauce, topped with fried tofu, egg, beansprouts, cucumber, and crispy crackers. We added king prawns, and it was beyond worth it. Proper saucy, full of flavour, and ridiculously satisfying. 🍜 Char Siu Wanton Noodles – Inspired by a Michelin starred hawker stall in Singapore, and honestly, it tasted like it. Egg noodles with sticky roasted char siu pork belly, soft pork wantons, a fried egg, and loads of extras like pickles, crushed peanuts, dark soy, sesame, and chilli sauce. The pork belly was insanely tender, the soy gave it that deep, salty hit, and the pickles balanced everything out. The wantons were easily some of the best I’ve had. What I loved most is how authentic the whole experience felt. It’s the kind of spot you visit once and immediately start planning your next visit. Already craving it again and will definitely need to try more of their menu! This specific version of Pork Belly took a good two months or so to figure out due to lack of time and procrastination or both! But what we ended up with was the most luxurious melt in your mouth Smoked Pork Belly that even silenced the greatest of haters! 😅 It took a total of 4 days to get it to the point of perfection...   1. The most incredible meal I’ve ever eaten 😍 Thank you to @the.witchery for making my birthday last week so special. I can’t recommend this place enough!!! The food, ambience and service was impeccable and I can’t wait to go back for another special occasion. 🥂 If you’re looking to go, I prefer ‘The Secret Garden Room’ for its original features and little terraced area for after dinner drinks. The Witchery dining room itself is equally beautiful and very gothic but there is something extra special about the grand stairs to your table in the Secret Garden Room. Both rooms serve the same menu and are candle lit - hence the terrible pictures, but who wants a flash going off in a nice restaurant 😂 We all had something different, some from the table d’Hote menu which is very reasonable at £38.50 for 3 courses and others from the à la carte. I had the tomato and whipped feta terrine to start, duck breast with garlic and lemon roast vegetables and a praline tart with the silkiest espresso martini to finish. 🍸 Absolutely everything was faultless, from the accommodating staff to the incredible food.   1. Eat more turnip!!! On the back of being told by the environment minister to eat more turnip I created a wee earthy dish to champion this product! . Salt baked turnip, veg peelings broth,purée, scarlet elf cup mushrooms, crispy nettles, wild garlic oil. Tried it with both swede and white turnip both really nice but the colour of swede looks better !!
