  1. Sick Children- Home remedies I use to comfort my daughter when she doesn’t feel well. Comment „remedy” to get the link to some of the products. *Butter is added to milk to increase its fat content, creating a cream substitute or a beverage with warming and soothing properties, especially for colds. Butter fat also facilitates the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) found in milk and honey. *Use an umbrella to make inhalation easier for your child, don’t worry, it’s just superstition that you will have bad luck if you open an umbrella at home. *What exactly is pear compote good for? For the respiratory tract: Moisturizes the throat and mucous membranes. Helps remove excess mucus from the lungs and respiratory tract. Relieves dry coughs, scratchy throats, and hoarseness. Supports the body in fighting colds and flu. For immunity: Add cinnamon, cloves or honey (if you are not allergic to it), which have antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Supports digestion and intestinal peristalsis thanks to its fiber content. Prevents constipation. *Quince has numerous health benefits, including boosting immunity and helping with colds due to its high vitamin C and antioxidant content. It also supports the circulatory system, lowering blood pressure and improving cholesterol levels. Quinces should be harvested in October or November, when they turn from light yellow to gold and are incredibly aromatic. They don’t usually fully ripen in the UK summer, but should be left on the tree as long as possible to enhance their flavour, then harvested before the first frost. *Consuming hot broth during a respiratory infection can have a positive effect on symptom relief and potentially reduce the need for medication, while also providing nutritional support and hydration. #sickkids #sickbaby #momtok #cold #coldseason #getwell #sickchildren #homeremedy #homeremdies #homeremedyforcold #momtipsandtricks #firsttimemom

  1. Our precious little angel baby Arie, born sleeping on 27.02.25 at 1.15am 👼🏻💔 Never in a million years did I think that this is how we would be announcing our second pregnancy and I’m still wishing that this was all just a bad dream that I’m going to wake up from 💔 In January we found out we had been blessed with another baby boy and after so much happiness, excitement (and naturally some nerves to be joining the 2 under 2 gang 👶🏻👶🏻) our joy soon turned to heartache as after weeks of multiple scans and meetings with doctors we discovered that our baby was so very sick with a very rare condition 😓 we were told that most babies pass before birth or within the first few days of life but for those that do survive past this time, 4 out of 5 babies won’t make it to their 2nd birthday 😢 We still tried to stay hopeful and sat up hours each night researching, desperately praying for a miracle but unfortunately with each scan our babies condition was just getting a lot more severe which led us to have to make the heartbreaking and what felt like impossible ‘decision’ to save our precious, innocent little baby from a life of pain and uncertainty 😓💔 The devastation of trying process that you’re losing a very much loved and wanted baby at almost 16 weeks pregnant and then having to spend the most traumatic 4 days in hospital giving birth to him, holding him and seeing his tiny but perfectly formed little face and having to say goodbye is a pain and heartache that will forever haunt us and something no parent should ever ever have to go through 😢💔 I will spend the rest of my life missing you and longing to have you safe and healthy in my arms my precious boy and wondering why this had to happen 😢 I will forever wonder just how special it would have been for Bodhi to have a little brother so close in age to grow up with and to give him a best buddy for life. I will cherish those 15 weeks and 4 days I carried you in my tummy and hold you in my heart until the day we are reunited again 😢 Sleep well our precious little angel, I hope all that you knew was warmth and pure love. Mama, Dada and your big brother Bodhi will never ever forget you 👼🏻💙

  3. Not the news I wanted to share with you 1 week out from the Chicago Marathon 🥲 Last Thursday I started experiencing knee pain that escalated quickly and meant I had to stop my cool down early as I began compensating Later that day I couldn’t walk normally and my knee became swollen We tried our best to offload, I rested for a 3 days and things were looking really promising when I was able to run pain free on Monday for 15 minutes Sadly, it was short-lived and the pain returned in the next two runs The initial diagnosis was patellofemoral joint pain but when it stopped responding as expected to treatment, we decided to get an MRI this Wednesday On Thursday I received the results and it wasn’t good news I’ve got a fracture in the bone at the inside of my right knee (medial femoral condyle). It’s “subchondral,” so just under the cartilage. As a result my kneecap is sitting slightly higher than normal which has irritated the fat pad that cushions the kneecap, and there’s a patch of grade 2 cartilage damage on the inner side of the kneecap. My team thinks the fracture was caused by the fall I had on the trail 8 weeks ago as this isn’t the type of stress fracture you get from overtraining, it’s a trauma injury. When I fell on it I bruised the bone. Although it was pain free for 6.5 weeks of high volume marathon training, the weakness from the fall eventually became too much, which is why this appeared to come out of the blue. For now, I’m on crutches and I won’t know how long for until I speak to the Sports Doc next week. The worry is that this location is a major load-bearing surface of the joint which means this is a high risk fracture location. Even low-level activities like walking put force directly through the fracture site, so healing can be a challenge if its not properly offloaded. I don’t know what the next few months will look like - this is my first major injury so it’s going to be a process. It’s basically the worst news both professionally, and mentally right now. I mostly feel numb and get waves of sadness both for the race/this block, but also the unknown for the near future. I know I’ll be back, I just don’t know when right now ❤️‍🩹
