Kept this one quiet on socials so there was no pressure 🧘🏼‍♀️ the goal was not to change up any of my regular training and just start running! For the past 15 weeks I have trained 7 times a week. Never missing a single run or gym session. I’ve managed to train for a half mara but also hit a snatch PB, matched my clean and jerk PB, got 10 unbroken muscle ups and the list goes on. This wasn’t about the time but about proving to myself I could I could really be a hybrid girl if I put my mind to it 🥹 Little Emma & her doctors would be shook (swipe for a jump scare) Also the biggest shoutout to my support team today @henrys122 @taylorjames_ @karolina.zawi @angela_j_stuart couldn’t have done it without you guys literally 🫶🏼🤍

  3. It’s been so long since I posted. I’ve been trying to get myself through January. I made it…so if you helped, thank you so much! I needed you! I wanted to share a bit of my progress. I know it seems like I’ve done this a lot before but the last few months have been different. On the right was my starting point and after losing nearly 14kg in the middle picture, I thought my journey was done. But now I look to the picture taken just this morning and realise that I had a different journey to go on! And it’s not over yet! My journey I feel will be a forever one; one that started out with an end in sight but now I understand my initial goal has changed the way I live my life…I never thought I’d be the person I am today and there have been so many folk that have helped me along the way and I want to say thank you to all of you! I believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness, and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the amount of fun and levels of energy you will experience will far exceed the discomfort. . We’ve all sat and read numerous examples of empowering articles or working to get what you want, motivational quotes, photos and transformation stories. The common theme of these is commitment and how it plays into any goal you might have. However many challenges and setbacks appear between you and your goals, you should never lose sight of them. . Quitting will always be the easiest option: the people who stop when things get tough are never the people who will never achieve their dreams. Giving up on something is the only sure way of never reaching it: if you stop moving towards your end-point, you will never reach it. You will never know what you’re capable of if you don’t keep going. Even if you’re moving at what feels like your slowest pace, you’re getting steadily closer to being where you want to be – to being the person you want to be. . “Enjoy the process, and the results will come” - failure should only ever be a spur to harder, smarter work. I may be an average joe and not a famous athlete but I’m never going to let that stop me. In the past, when someone told me I can’t do something, I only allow it to increase my drive and determination to win. I might not be the best at a certain element tomorrow, or ever a few month down the line, but I know that I can be if only I commit the time, effort, and expertise to practising it. The most commonly asked question I get is “How do you stay motivated” simple answer….I don’t. My desire to train fluctuates, but what remains constant is discipline. My best advice with regard to your own training is when possible disconnect emotion, don’t leave it down to how you feel. Particularly right now where we have had a lots of things we enjoy taken from us, the chances are, motivation will be extremely low. Instead…put systems in place, create routine and find an environment that will give you the greatest chance of success. Manage your energy, ensure you’re getting adequate sleep each night, fuel appropriately and hydrate effectively, where possible remove anything or anyone that’s going to dampen your mood. Prepare by removing the element of thought from the equation we can eliminate any unnecessary stress. Find a program, lay out your outfit, plan your meals. Finally, get around people on the same journey. Environment dictates everything. I am extremely grateful for the people I have around me. Seems so silly to say… Like yeah no shit you’re better when there’s less pressure But I’ve never been very good at doing that Recently I’ve tried to remove all the things I do that make me feel like I’m about to do something “high stakes” like attempt a PB or try a new skill Because realistically none of my training is high stakes, and it never will be Im not an athlete, I’m just lucky enough to do a job I love and train in a way that I enjoy that makes me feel strong and helps make me fitter and occasionally compete in comps with friends just for funsies I film less I Don’t put on my specific “hype songs” I wear my belt less And tell myself “let’s just see, no worries either way” And so far it has worked 😇 I feel more relaxed I’ve been able to PB my clean and jerk (70kg) and my hang clean (72.5kg) in the past couple weeks I did some of the best rope climbs I’ve ever done last week and didn’t film them And that’s FINE Cus who cares It’s just my and my friends playing around and having fun just a reminder that you can literally do anything you want ☺️ ____________________ #functionaltraining #functionalfitness #weightlifting #cleanandjerk #hangclean #olympicweightlifting #ropeclimb #turfgames

  3. This is more than my fitness journey transformation.. It’s also about the transformation in my relationship with myself 📆14 years ago I was a competitive swimmer training 6 days a week, but my nutrition and mindset? All over the place. Under eating and over thinking every single bite. 📆10 years ago I started training in a gym for the first time with no clue what I was doing. Doing everything but making real progress 📆7 years ago I became a PT and learned how to train better but still lacked structure ESPECIALLY with nutrition 📆3 years ago (almost) I found functional fitness and it changed everything for me, I fell in love with these people and this style of training 🫶 📆6 months ago I finally had enough! I was sick of constantly talking down to myself and putting SO much pressure on myself that it made me unhappy. So I said fuck it 🤷‍♀️ removed all pressure and jsut tried to ✨vibe✨ That mindset shift changed everything for me My journey wasn’t linear and it definitely wasn’t perfect!   3. Everest Base Camp - We made it!!! 🏔😅🇳🇵 What a journey but without doubt the hardest and most challenging thing I’ve ever done physically and mentally. It took every last ounce of energy to make it to Base Camp. Every step ascending above 5,000m is so taxing on the body and with us both having picked up a major cold this made it doubly exhausting with our sinus’s being completely blocked. Have never pushed my body to the limit so much and at times I questioned if we would even make it. It was all worth it though and the feeling of achievement and accomplishment once we made it was unbelievable. The views on the way to Base Camp were the best I’ve ever seen in my life. Was so cool seeing the Khumbu icefall and all of the tents up close. Would highly recommend everyone to visit the Himalayas at least once in their lifetime ❤️🇳🇵 Proud of @explorandus for making it too, she had such a bad cold but powered on like a little warrior 🤍 Couldn’t have made it without our amazing Sherpa’s also @nepal.rajendra1 and @dawa7265 We also made it up Kala Patthar (5,644m) the day after base camp but that’s for another day. Now on our way back down the mountain and will be relishing getting as much rest and sleep as possible. What an experience!! 🏔🙌 #everestbasecamp #nepal #5364m
