  1. This was such a fun way to make leaf prints! Peeling the leaves away to reveal the watercolor prints was magical. Such a simple craft but with a big “wow” factor 😍 Make sure to use watercolor paper and keep the paper wet until your leaves are all set. If the paint dries, your leaves won’t stick and create prints. So work fast and keep adding more water and color! 🍃 Save this simple activity to do with your kids!

Air dry clay seed mosaics ✨ We needed a little something to spruce up the garden as it makes its transition into fall and these were just the thing ✨ For this you’ll need air dry clay, some old seeds and beans or remnants of whatever you have sitting around in your pantry (we used very old or expired dry goods). Roll out the clay with a rolling pin and cut out a circle with a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter. You’ll want it rather thick so it doesn’t break easily. Push beans and seeds down into the clay, let it dry for 3-4 days and THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART - give it a good spray on all sides with an acrylic sealer. I like the modge podge spray (it stinks so make sure you use it outside!). Now you’ve got some happy little garden decorations to make you smile through the season ✨

  2. Well….the post I was putting off for a few days. I’ll keep it short, simple, and 💯 I was extremely disappointed that I failed to make the Olympic final last week. I felt confident and ready to go heading into Tokyo. It just wasn’t my day and I just wasn’t ready to compete with the worlds best. Never an easy pill to swallow. But I found the sun came up the next day and life goes on. I’ll have a few races left on the schedule this szn that I think you guys will be excited about. I’ll be posting about them in the coming days & weeks. For now, the last slide is my mood heading into Pre Classic next week.   3. As I watched spectators trickle into Jesuit HS warming up last night, I was immediately overwhelmed by the turnout and interest this race sparked with only a 72 hour notice. For the first time in my career I put myself out there on my intentions to get after a record and I felt a little vulnerable. A very fast American Record. When I crossed the line and saw 3:49, a mark over 2 seconds slower than my goal for the night, a mark that hundreds or thousands of people from all over came to watch me break, I felt a sense of disappointment. I wanted to give everyone who came out and tuned in a historic night. I realized I wanted it more for them than for myself. While gathering myself, I was surprised to hear cheers and a loud applause. Did they not see the time? As I jogged around and thanked everyone who came out to make last night a special one, I found myself wanting to say sorry. Sorry for not giving them an American Record that I felt I had promised, but they wouldn’t let me. Instead they told me how proud and excited they were by my attempt. Of my willingness to put it out there, and that they were rooting for me in Tokyo. It was the send-off I didn’t know that I needed. I am proud to represent this country and these fans because nights like this make me remember how much track & field and its fans have given me. Damn, I love this sport.

  3. Never did I think taking on 3 kids from 2 other males would be easy. What I was sure of, the woman connected to them was worth it all. I am not these kids biological father, they have those. What I will be is the best example of a quality human being, always show them how to treat their mother with respect and support them in any way I can during their development. Coming from a split home myself, I know it’s not easy on youngsters, but in todays world sadly, it’s pretty common. So Christina and I will always remain unfazed by any outside noise and save the kids from any unnecessary trauma. Christina is a very driven and incredible woman who has an ability to brush anything off and keep herself composed while being a positive influence in these kids lives while achieving success in anything she does. I admire her greatly for that…especially watching my own mother do the same for my siblings and I growing up, I can appreciate it. There is a lot that goes on in personal lives that isn’t for public consumption, therefore not shared, kept private. So trust me as someone who likes to keep a low profile, no one except those directly involved knows jack about any situation more than them. 2 sides and the truth. I will always protect her, keep her safe and no one will hurt her with me in the picture. She doesn’t bother anyone, she deserves the same in return. I will ensure that’s the case.

  3. Seven lessons to start mastering landscape photography! With @casaramoon / "I moved to Italy at 17 as an exchange student for my last year of high school, which sparked my curiosity about the world and comfort with solo travel. Six years and 25 countries later, I graduated from university and moved to Seattle. A friend took me on a hike close to home, and it was the first time I had ever seen an alpine lake with a snow-capped mountain. I started hiking every weekend, first with just my iPhone, and after about six months of posting on Instagram for friends, I realized I wanted to be able to capture those moments even better. So, I bought my first camera in January 2019, and everything changed: 1) I found a community that inspired me daily: real-life friends with the same hobbies. Building a community of like-minded individuals can provide inspiration and support, enhancing your photography journey. 2) I learned going at sunrise creates a magical soft light that I fell in love with and wanted to capture. 3) I started noticing the little things hiking and always aim to capture the “perfect moment.” 4) The number one ingredient for a great landscape photo is a clear subject that draws the viewer’s eyes in. Natural landscapes can be busy and almost messy, but using shadows and light and focusing on one main subject can create something magical. 5) The other three main ingredients are shooting around sunrise or sunset when light is best, being patient and waiting for the right moment, and visualizing the desired end result, both shooting and editing. 6) My main focus when editing is enhancing the image to make a more magical and vivid display of what I saw in real life. 7) The two things I focus on the most are color balance and proper contrast. Having warmer tones in the highlights and cooler tones in the shadows really brings balance to the image." @casaramoon: What other valuable lessons have you acquired while transitioning from an amateur to a professional? 📸

  1. Staying warm in the cold starts with one thing. Layering the right way. Most people think you just throw on a big jacket and call it good, but that is how you end up cold, sweaty, and miserable on the trail. Here is the simple system that actually works in winter. Start with your base layer. This is the layer that sits against your skin and its job is to pull sweat away from your body. Sweat is what makes you cold in the winter so you need materials like synthetic or merino wool. Never wear cotton because it soaks up moisture and stays wet. Next is your mid layer. This is your insulation and its job is to trap heat. Think fleece, light puffies, or grid hoodies. You can adjust the thickness of this layer based on how cold it is and how hard you are working. If you feel yourself sweating, take this layer off before you get soaked. Your outer layer is your shell. This protects you from wind, snow, and moisture. A good shell keeps the elements out and lets the moisture from your base layer escape. Hard shells give the most protection and soft shells give more breathability so pick based on the conditions. The goal is to stay warm and dry without overheating. Add layers when you stop moving and remove layers right when you start to sweat.   3. A couple weeks ago when we were staying at the @hautehaus.colorado, we got visited by a fox. It was the first fox for all of us and I had to get out my good camera to get some shots of the fox and capture the moment. The second photo was taken through a window and the glass gave it such a cool look.
