  1. On one of my very first hikes, I brought some baby carrots to snack on at the halfway point. I was seated beside a lake, and one of the baby carrots fell into the shallow water. I figured, it’s biodegradable, it’s not like I’m LITTERING, right? A ranger came up to me, literally out of nowhere and kindly asked if I was planning to pick it up. I did, pretending like I was going to the entire time…. but I would have left it. I had no idea what Leave No Trace really meant, and frankly I was kind of annoyed that I was being told what to do. But here’s the thing. One little carrot like that may seem rather insignificant, but it can absolutely affect the ecosystem. It can alter soil and water, attract wildlife, and change animal behavior. One piece feels small, but repeated by thousands of people, it becomes a real problem. So love your mother, and LNT! #earth #nature #leavenotrace

  1. more information and details 👇✨ When I was trying to figure out the best way to get from SLC to Reno, @quingable recommended I take the train! I honestly forget this exists half the time because the few times I do look, it’s usually $. This time around, the price of a private room with a lay flat bed was going to be cheaper than flying and the timing lined up way better! Plus since it’s overnight, it doubled as my accommodation + transportation. This is an Amtrak train and I booked my ticket on their website. The price of my room was $219 and that included my bags and breakfast. I brought a 30L backpack and my snowboard bag. Even though the room I had was able to fit two people, you would definitely be squished. There are larger rooms available as well for more $. Overall, I found it to be worth it! It was a fun experience, I didn’t have to drive, and I didn’t have to worry about flying with my board bag.   2. Three months ago I decided to rent a room in SLC while my van had to go into the shop. Once the van was done, I wasn’t quite ready to move back in and decided I was due for a quick break from living on the road. This vehicle has been my only true home since June of 2021. In the last few years, anytime I “moved out” it was because I was leaving the country to go live out of a backpack. This was the first time I was out of it and living in an actual house. I will say, having a couch to lounge on was NICE. For 3 months I didn’t have to think about where I was going to park for the night, where to empty my grey water tank or fill up on water, or deal with any winter heater issues. And what a day to do it 🙏🏻 A beautiful, snowy Pentlands sunrise hike at East and West Kip. I really needed this walk yesterday; my pain levels have been overwhelming lately, and my head has been foggy with an abundance of sad news and other anxieties of life. I know that I could now never live somewhere that doesn't offer me easy access to this kind of scenery. It's the only thing that calms my mind and gives me a space to digest, process and come to terms with whatever life throws at me. Nature is magic.   1. ‼️Details in caption ⤵️ The Eibsee is definitely one of my favorite lakes in Germany. I’ve been here several times in winter and in summer. This was the first time I took my bike with me. I didn’t have a clear plan, I just wanted to ride around and explore new paths. And this is how I ended up at Eibsee. 🏞️ I started the tour at the train station of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and rode upstream along the river „Loisach“. After about 10km the trail starts to get steeper. This is when I started to regret not having an e-bike. Highly recommended for this tour as the trail is really steep. The descent from the top of the mountain to the lake is really fun. I had a break and a short swim in the icy cold lake. During the golden hour in the evening I enjoyed the beautiful lights surrounded by mountains in the meadow. I ended the tour back at the train station in Garmisch. All in all about 40 kilometers and many beautiful views! 🚵🏼‍♀️ I really want to recommend going out without big plans sometimes. Just go with the flow and see where things take you.   1. Save this spot for the summer! This is Pokljuka Gorge, a small but really fun hike. The two highlights of the hike are the cave called Pokljuka Hole and the suspended wooden path. The remaining part of the hike is quite plain, but these two spots make it worth it. This is a short and circular hike. It is a great option to go with families, we saw a lot of kids there and they got super excited with the different path. It’s an easy hike, so as long as your kid is used to walking, it should be all good. Make sure you save this spot for your trip!

  3. This was a hard ranking... 🏰 Did you know that Slovenia has over 500 castles? Each one of them is special in its own way... Here are 3 of our favorites. Predjama Castle is built inside a cave. It is such a special scenario that it has even been featured in movies and series. Ljubljana Castle - even though it is “”cliche””, we actually think it is really pretty and incredibly well preserved. Also, how big of a priviledge is it that you can go inside for free? Otocec Castle - This one is a bit less visited, but it is really a special spot. It’s located in an island in the river, creating the nicest views. Which castle in Slovenia would you recommend?”

  3. Auch einfach nicht so schlau. Viel zu oft so gemacht und hier ein kleiner Reminder: seid nicht so wie die alte Anna. Tatsächlich esse ich mittlerweile viel mehr beim Training und siehe da- die Performance ist auch gleich viel besser. Naja wen wunderts! Carbs ins Getränk hilft mir schon extrem weiter und weils geil ist gehört ein Kuchen Stopp auch dazu weil genießen viel zu wichtig ist… und weils als Hobbysportler auch einfach um nix geht. Ich hab das Gefühl das vergessen manche oftmals.
