  1. Backpacking + Steak in Yosemite 🥩⛺️
This trip was not planned at all, and it ended up being one of my favorites.
Camping right in front of Half Dome with that view felt different.
I’ve come down this trail before while heading to North Dome, but I had never really explored the Snow Creek area. All I knew was that it’s considered one of the most difficult hikes in Yosemite. With no plans for the weekend, I decided to give it a try.
I arrived in Yosemite on Friday and spent the night at Camp 4. As usual, I took my time the next morning and didn’t get on the trail until around 11 AM. The hike isn’t very long, but it is extremely steep. It was tough. By the time I reached the top, I was already pretty tired and the sun was starting to go down fast. I had mapped a few possible spots to camp, explored the area, and ended up finding this spot with incredible views, a fire pit, and water nearby.
I filtered about 6 liters of water to be set for the night, set up my tent, and relaxed for a bit. As the sun started to drop, I started cooking. I made a NY steak with peppers and eggs, asparagus, and a portobello mushroom with parmesan cheese. Of course, a classic beer.
I started the fire and watched an incredible sunset with views of Half Dome, followed by a sky full of stars. The next morning, after more than 10 hours of sleep, I woke up to a beautiful day. I made blueberry pancakes and coffee for breakfast, packed everything up, and headed back down to the truck.
This is definitely a trip I will never forget. Yosemite is one of those places you never get tired of. It keeps impressing you no matter how many times you go.
I hope you enjoyed the video.
See you on the next one!

  3. Backpacking + Burger in Big Pine Lakes ⛺️🍔 I couldn’t ask for a better way to end the fall season. I usually don’t really plan my trips ahead of time. It is always like 2 to 4 days before the actual trip. This one was literally the day before. I headed to Mammoth later on Thursday night and arrived around 11:30 PM. I spent the night sleeping on BLM land in the back of my truck. I woke up Friday and drove to Bishop where I had an amazing breakfast and bought some of the food for the trip at Mahogany Smoked Meats . I ended up arriving at the trailhead parking lot a little later than usual, around 9:30 AM. I packed all my stuff, probably 45 to 50 pounds, and started hiking up. Since I parked at the overnight parking lot, it added an extra mile to the hike. The hike is absolutely beautiful and I crossed paths with awesome people on the trail. Lots of waterfalls. I made it to camp around 2:30 PM and was able to get an amazing spot. If you know, this trail can get pretty crowded, so getting a spot can sometimes be hard. I set up my tent and sleeping gear and just chilled for a bit, looking at the spectacular view of Temple Crag. Since this time of year gets dark super early, I started cooking dinner around 4 PM. I set up my kitchen gear from @Fire Maple Gear Store and started cooking. I made a delicious double cheeseburger with bacon, grilled onions, tomatoes and lettuce. Definitely a backcountry gourmet burger. I also brought a beer from one of my favorite breweries Mammoth Brewing which was perfect with the burger. I had the most spectacular dinner with sunset. I hung out for a bit until it got dark and literally fell asleep around 8:30 PM. I woke up the next morning at 8:30 AM, almost 12 hours of sleep. I sleep the best when I am backpacking. I cooked some breakfast, eggs, bacon, avocado and tomato, and of course a delicious coffee. I packed all my stuff and started hiking back down. I really enjoyed this trip and I am glad I was able to do it last minute. I hope you enjoyed it. See you on the next trip ❄️⛺️! #backpacking #camping #nature #cooking

  2. Whose etiquette should I fix next??? After my “how to hike like a real man” video, the reactions were… educational. Some of you shared thoughtful support. Incredibly, so many women shared scary, awful, and very real personal stories of trail encounters. And then there was a very loud minority who said: “I’m not doing any of this.” Which told me something important: We don’t just need one etiquette video. We need a series. Welcome to the next installment of: How to hike like a respectable human being. And today’s feature…The Bluetooth Speaker Hiker Look, I get it. Music is part of your life. But what most people don’t realize is that sound travels much farther outdoors than it feels like it does. What sounds “low” to you can carry hundreds of feet down a canyon especially in quiet backcountry environments. Which means when you blast music on a trail, you’re not just setting your vibe, you’re not just affecting your group…you’re changing the experience for everyone around you And often… for wildlife too. Shared trail = shared soundscape. If you want music: - One earbud - Low volume Or better yet…let nature do its thing. So, tell me in the comments: Who should be next in the trail etiquette series? Appreciate everyone who’s been engaging (even the spicy comments 👀). I’m still reading through your stories and feedback. And be sure to follow outdoorwiseliving for more trail-tested hiking tips so you don’t have to learn the hard way. #womenwhohike #trailtips #fyp

  3. Follow @outdoorwiseliving for more hiking inspiration! A trail that redefines breathtaking… If you want an easy hike with arguably the most breathtaking views, this trail needs to be on your short list. And for those looking to get started hiking in ‘25, it’s the perfect trail to fall in love with nature, the outdoors, and a new hiking habit 🙌. Coined as the ‘crown jewel’ of the California state park system, this truly is the perfect match of land and ocean. Here are the details: 🥾 Trail: Cypress Grove trail, Point Lobos State Natural Preserve, Carmel-by-the-sea 🅿️ Fee: $10 and Open Daily 8 am–5 pm, last entry at 430 pm. Don’t park outside the gate on rt 1 - the $10 is a well worth-it support for our state parks! 📅 Best times to visit: Year round but the winter is my personal favorite with lower crowds and migrating whales. 📏 Difficulty: Easy. The trail is only 1 mile but can be extended with other loops. 🏔️ Elevation: ~100 ft. but there are some stairs. 👧 👦 ♿️ friendly: Very kid friendly with multiple scenic over looks, trees to explore, and not hard. The trail to the south may be wide enough for assisted wheel chairs but the trails can become too wet to pass after rains. 🦮 Friendly: No dogs allowed here 🤿 A popular scuba/snorkel destination (additional fee required) given the rich & diverse marine life present. 🎒 Gear: wide and short trails make this one with minimal special equipment required! Cell phone signal present throughout. Bring the binoculars to look for otters, seals, and whales! 🕶️ Shade: Mostly shaded with beautiful Cypress tree coverage. 🛂 Tips: Not ideal after rains - large puddles form in the packed sand trails. I absolutely recommend combining this with Garrapata State Park further to the south (trail guides on my feed). Definitely check out Bird Island and China Cove while in the reserve here. The longest trail nearby is a loop around the park, but in my opinion, doing this and Bird Island trail gives you the best bang for the buck. 📰🗞️: Sign up for my newsletter to get 5 free trail guides delivered right to your inbox with trail links - link in bio
