  3. I understand the nerves of meeting new people while solo travelling. I went on my first solo trip in Kilifi in 2022 and the aloneness felt so loud 😅 but after than one trip, it changed how open I am to meeting new people in travel and my day to day life. I met @celine_.mumbi and @aunty.social_ on the boat day to Sardegna Island…1 small comment turned into a to a little conversation to a whole joint itinerary that night and the next day 😍. When you’re traveling with your gang, you’re less interested in making new connections and this is where solo traveling bangs. So nice to meet you girls 🥹🤍 . Some tips : - It’s okay to feel afraid and awkward the first time you travel alone. You’re not broken, you’re learning something new. Breath through that discomfort. - If someone even smiles at you, say hi back…those small little gestures are little cues. Openness is big here. - Don’t force it - if you have an interaction and it doesn’t align, let it go. The point is to have fun - Practice alone dates in your own city then travelling alone won’t feel like such a huge jump. - Do group activities (like the boat ride), it exposes you to new people easily. Take the opportunity to mingle . **Being a public makes it’s easier because people who follow me feel a familiarity with me so they are more likely to interact. It can make it harder for that same reason and also people assume public figures won’t be friendly. I mostly follow my gut though. Solo travelers, any other tips ? #solotravel #LydInTransit
