Link in bio. - Als je mij een beetje volgt dan heb je in de afgelopen periode al een paar keer een post voorbij zien komen waarbij ik aangaf zelf in een intense transformatie te zitten. - De transformatie waar ik in zat/zit heeft een impact op meerdere delen van m’n leven. Tijdens de voor-productie en filmen van Sophia Zoekt Verder kwam ik zelf weer voor moeilijke keuzes te staan, die ook met mijn fysieke lichaam en de gevolgen van kanker te maken hebben. - Al sinds mijn operatie in 2011 van borstkanker heb ik last van mijn borst reconstructie en heb sindsdien veel vage klachten en veel pijn. Begin dit jaar begon ik daar extreem last van te krijgen en na flink wat onderzoeken en gesprekken met mijn geweldige artsen in het AVL moest ook ik opnieuw een pittige keuze maken. - Ik wilde dit stuk niet teveel meenemen in de serie Sophia Zoekt Verder. Dus ik heb een heel rauw, open en eerlijk videodagboek gemaakt van begin Mei tot eind Augustus. Daarin kan je mijn gehele proces zien. Meer info daarover op mijn website. - Nadat moeilijke keuze proces ben ik afgelopen 3 Augustus opnieuw geopereerd en heb ik mijn reconstructie weg laten halen. - Ik had slechts 2 opties waar ik uit kon kiezen. Optie 1. Plat, helemaal niks en compleet Borst-loos verder door het leven gaan. Optie 2. Om met eigen buikweefsel borsten te maken, een zeer ingrijpende operatie met een flinke revalidatie periode. Beide voelden niet geweldig in het begin maar snijden in gezond buik weefsel na alles wat m’n lichaam al heeft moeten doorstaan voelde nog slechter. - Ik heb er dus voor gekozen om plat te gaan. #flatbutfabulous Inmiddels voel ik me weer goed, ik voel me mooi, ik draag m’n littekens met trots en ik weet dat ik nu achteraf de juiste keuze voor mijzelf heb gemaakt. - Mocht jij ook in een moeilijk keuze traject zitten? Dan hoop ik dat mijn videodagboek je een beetje kan ondersteunen en je wellicht een referentie kader kan geven. Maar mijn grote boodschap is; Doe wat goed is voor jou!   2. This is a happy story! I promise! ⠀ In 2011 I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time, it was breast cancer this time. That was a long healing proces and I choose a very different path to deal with it. That was not easy in any way shape or form. A very loooong story short, around 8 months after the diagnosis I choose for a dubble mastectomy and dubble reconstruction. ⠀ :⠀ It’s been now more than 14 months since I have had that same breast reconstruction removed. It just didn’t work and instead of getting better, my health kept getting worse and worse over time. Up to the point that I would get a flu-kinda-high-fever-attacks every other 3 to 4 weeks for a couple of days. :⠀ Yesterday, after a solid 14 months I got a big fever and flu symptoms for the first time. I can’t tell you how happy that made me and how proud I am for the very scary decision I made. Although I’m currently lying in bed and feeling sick, I know it’s just a normal flu. That’s part of the seasonal shift and it has nothing to do with the unhealthy implants.⠀ :⠀ So I’m happy to report that my OG’s and my fake boobs (although the where absolutely gorgeous) may Rest In Peace!!! Because I’m all the better for it now they are both gone!! :⠀ I’m healing, my body is healing, my soul is healing and I never loved myself more than I do right now.⠀ :⠀ So this is for the person who needs to hear this right now. Make that hard, scary and difficult choice! Stay level headed, choose to rise above and grow. You will feel really darn good about yourself!   3. I’m going to be vulnerable with you.... This picture was taken a while ago. I sat in my car crying on the driveway, leaving the keys to the cottage that we sold. It was also the day my fiance and I silently separated and went our own ways. After many long talks, we made the decision to let eachother go in love. .⠀ It has taken me a while to talk about it, mostly because letting each other go was very painful and I needed time for myself. .⠀ I will not go into the reasons why, because it is not just my story and there is a thing called privacy. Just know that we loved each other very much and that sometimes love is not enough. . But I also believe that sharing the reality of life, the good, that bad and the ugly. Makes us all feel more human, normal, understood and less alone. Because we all go through various types of heartbreak, loss, and difficult times. . I am very blessed that I have some amazing friends around me and they always have my back. I moved into the guesthouse of my best friends and their kids which are my little goddaughter and godson, where I get tons of love and little cuddles to heal my heart and figure out what is next during these crazy times in the world. . Now that some time has past, Time itself is slowly putting her healing tough over my heart, new visions and ideas of a another life have been bubbling up. Adventures have been set in motion and I’m getting excited about this. Things I dream of are being put into action.... :) More on this subject later. . For now I leave you with this. Life is beautiful and no matter what and know that it can always be rebuild. That is my experience (and I have rebuild my life a few times already) And know that it generally will turn into something much better then what you left behind. So for everyone out there that is struggling and in pain.
