  3. It is with a heavy heart that I’m withdrawing my candidacy for Miss World Philippines 2021. My journey in MWP has been unforgettable and truly one of the best moments that I will forever cherish in my life. Medical school is a calling, a devotion, a vocation, and a lifelong mission. Before entering medical school, I was told that I will have to sacrifice a lot - money, time, you name it. But I’ve never imagined and didn’t expect that one of my dreams is something I have to sacrifice. It truly breaks my heart. Being a medical student in an online setting in the midst of a global pandemic crisis is truly a challenging task. Due to unfortunate circumstances and turn of events, I wouldn’t be able to join since I have to prioritize my academics. I have deeply contemplated about this and it really breaks my heart. Please do know I have deeply contemplated about this decision and it wasn’t easy for me to decide. My heart truly hurts as I’m writing this statement. Being part of a national pageant and meeting a lot of wonderful and hardworking people are already a big achievement for me. Masakit sa’kin ito. I just want to deeply apologize to my family, friends, glam team, and supporters. But also I want to thank you all for the support.
