  2. My next set of photos from yesterday's Fleet Week / Blue Angels show is from the "vapor cone" pass. I'd never seen one of these before, so was blown away by it. The "cone" that appears around a Blue Angel jet is called a vapor cone or "shock collar," which is created when the jet travels at high speeds near the speed of sound, causing a sudden drop in air pressure that condenses moisture in the air, forming a visible cone-like shape around the aircraft; it doesn't necessarily mean the jet is breaking the sound barrier, but is simply flying at a very high speed with sufficient humidity present.

  2. Hey y'all, this is me and my father John. He has Dementia/Alzheimer's. It has progressed to where he can't live alone anymore. This past week I made the decision to move him out to SF with us for awhile until I find a better situation for him. As this was a huge decision for my husband and I. Our new reality of caregiving is slowly sinking in. Grateful that my Dad is a sweet & mellow ol man that just wants to enjoy the present moment and a joint with anyone he's around... he's an old hippie and used to live in SF during the late 60's until he joined a commune .. so this feels quite a full circle moment ☮️ And all of this wouldn't be possible without my husband David.. he is the absolute best and most supportive 🤎. To my clients, I am off for a week to get him settled in. I will still be working, but my days may shift around and my hours will probably get shortened. If I need to reschedule you the coming months, please be patient, as I'm navigating a completely new routine and way of life. Life is fleeting and precious. I'm softening into this new reality with loads of patience and humor. Glad I can get these moments with him while he still know who I am 🥹🩷

  1. Probably conversations like this are too sacred to have online. But we spend a lot of time online, and even more so when we are feeling isolated and alone. This music video was made on my birthday two years ago— it was a day of joy, connection and gratitude. But now it’s hard to look at. Sadly, one of the beautiful women in this video, Lilly Wang, is no longer with us. You know, this is a very silly looking, and silly sounding song, but I made it as way to process the loss of two friends in 2021. Suicide is complex. We have a strong culture of celebrating people's lives, to respect their choices and accept that they are no longer suffering. At the same time, I'm struggling with the idea that these beautiful, loving friends felt so alone and hopeless. They had talked openly about their mental health struggles, and how their lives were a battle between joy and depression. We wish the joy won. Everyone is fighting their own battle, but aren't so many of us familiar with questioning our value, the meaning of our lives… will we be able to find joy and belonging? I've lost three friends to suicide and overdose in the past three years, and sometimes their deaths seem endemic of a culture of individualism that affects all of us. Sometimes I feel frustrated and heart-broken that the world continues to turn with little acknowledgment of tragedies, or that suicide is on the rise. It feels like these losses are a wake up call….if not to action, at least to consideration. We have more mobility and variety than ever before. And I love it; I’ll always accept risks for great freedom and expression in turn. But it’s important to respect the weight of what we have all sacrificed. Belonging, stability and presence are deep needs. We cannot look backwards for them; we have to look forwards. How can we create these for one another? How can we work to counteract our tendency to isolate and spiral, when we need support? How can we offer support without loosing ourselves, or taking responsibility for another person’s experience? Thanks for listening to this share. If you’re feeling scared or lost, you aren’t alone. We all feel it, and all need support sometimes.

Some of this crew is going on their 5th trip together! …depending on when you count, how you count, and if you believe counting things is a meaningful representation of depth or quality (questionable). We’re going to Atami, El Salvador, which we chose because it’s an EPIC surf spot, and an easy flight. Our dates are January 9th — April 1st. It’s a coworking trip— everyone is working during the day, on jobs and projects. It’s a DIY adventure— no one is taking your money, nor guaranteeing you a good time 😳. On the plus side, you may discover that you’re likely to find support & enthusiasm for any idea or event (like a banana truck video, a sad party or even a brand new startup). In past years, I’ve said that you’ll love the vibe if you like music, movement and/or meditation. Our first round of long term commits scored a 9 bedroom spot. We don’t have sublets *AND* there is a beautiful, inexpensive 4 bedroom house right next door to us (and another basically across the street). Want to organize a house and come join us?!
