  2. Said goodbye to a good one today. Sage was dealt more bad cards than most cats. Her stubbornness and resilience carried her further than even I expected, but it recently became apparent that I was just trying to avoid the inevitable. My tears today aren’t so much tears of sadness, for we both gave each other a lot of joy and comfort and that’s something to be grateful for. Instead, they’re tears of relief that she’s no longer in pain. This place won’t be quite the same without you, Sage. I love you. Ingrid and I will miss you terribly. XO

  3. Hi everyone! Meet Lou! The stars aligned and I found a friend for Ingrid much sooner than expected. ‘Cindy Lou’ is a three year-old tabby gal that was found abandoned outside with her kittens in late December. They all found homes and then only she was left. I figured that Ingrid, having been a teen mom found on the streets herself, would have plenty to teach Lou about how great it is to have a happy place to call home. I obviously had to change her name (this town’s only big enough for one Cindy) so I went with Lou. She’s an absolute delight and her and Ingrid are moving through the stages of new cat introduction at a steady pace and I expect them to be best buds in no time. ☺️

  3. This is my friend and colleague Rana. She is one of the strongest people I know. Rana’s husband, Dr. Ehab Bader a London paediatrician and Neonatologist has been trapped in G a z a over the last 43 days. What was supposed to be a quick trip to visit his ailing parents turned into a nightmare. He has been volunteering in the hospitals since October 7th. We’ve all seen a small glimpse of the horror that he has experienced first hand. We can only imagine his grief. The fact that it’s taken our government 43 days to get him on a “list” is infuriating while Canadians from the other side were out in days. Ehab is a prominent member of our community and we are praying for his safe arrival home. Rana is from G A Z A . Her pregnant sister, along with all of her children were killed in an airstrike in 2014. On October 7th her brother and cousin were killed. She has multiple family members trapped under the rubble. Her younger brother is dealing with leukaemia and has not been able to get a treatment in over six weeks as the cancer centre was demolished. Her childhood home, her neighborhood, her university, everything she knows is destroyed. Read that again. I’m only touching on a sliver of her story here. I’m in constant admiration of her unwavering faith and patience. When you see us share about Palestine, understand that we are not just sharing random people from “overseas.” They are someone’s family members, their bloodlines, their memories. This atrocity affects the people who live peacefully amongst us. Your neighbours, your service providers, your co workers. Their families are being wiped out and we can no longer bear to see this suffering live on screen. Please keep them jn your prayers.   1. Unedited. I never thought I would ever post a picture without editing my body. How sad is that? Now, I’m not saying I didn’t take 300 pictures to get these, but baby steps, ok? 😂 in the past year I’ve don’t a lot of self reflection. I listen to ALOT of body positivity podcasts and follow amazing people like @thebirdspapaya who aren’t ashamed to post their “imperfect” bodies. You know when you look back at old pictures of yourself and you’re like “omg why did I think I was fat here? I look amazing!!” I remind myself everyday of this exact feeling and to know that in one year I’ll look back at these pictures with the same feeling. My entire happiness should not be centered around my weight. Whether it’s my body, or my skin, or my youth, I need to love the body I’m in right now and cherish my health and my happiness because life is too short. In February, I did the keto diet (high fat, low carb & sugar). I did so well with it, I lost a ton of weight and was down 3 pants sizes in 2 months... then I got pancreatitis.. from gall stones.. from eating too much fatty foods. If you aren’t familiar with pancreatitis, it feels like giving birth under your sternum. So now, 10 months post pancreatitis, I’m back to the weight I started at, back to the feeling I started with, hoping to start loving the healthy body I have. I turn 31 this week and I plan to make this year my best yet 🙌🏼 Share this in your stories if you wanna see more of this kind of thing on my page. Cause I’m down if you're down.
