Step 3: Begin the row * Begin the movement by pulling the barbell just below your chest - between your chest and belly button). * Keep your elbows close to your body and your shoulders pulled back and down (retracted). * Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement, pause for a moment then… Step 4: Lower the weight * Lower the barbell back down to the starting position, keeping your back straight and your chest up - ensure your lower back isn’t arching at this point and the stretch is through your upper back, tension should be on your hamstring and glutes holding you steady in place - if you do find yourself arching, try dropping the weight down slightly. & repeat.   1. Why we don’t use these explained ⬇️ - TVs: as a family we don’t really enjoy spending our free time watching tv but if we do, we set up our projector. I’ve found the children are way more creative, calmer, and engaged since reducing screen time to a bare minimum. I always get people comment on how advanced their speech is and their development and I believe it’s because of not watching an iPad or TV. Having a projector that we get out occasionally is more intentional and we also don’t have a big tv screen being the focal point of a room either. - Microwave: I prefer to cook my food more slowly and without the radiation to preserve the nutrients. We said goodbye to using a microwave 10 years ago but a lot of the houses we live in always have them. Instead I love using my Instant Pot. - Tap Water: We don’t drink tap water and only use the taps for washing dishes and cleaning. Even though we have a full house filtration system fitted, spring water is our favourite water to drink for all of its health benefits. - WiFi: We have Ethernet connections all over our home so when we need to use the internet we can. We stopped using WiFi in 2020 and love that this way we get to have the internet without the EMFs which can disrupt sleep, mood, hormones and many other things which I don’t want to risk for my family. - Blue Lights: We have non-flicker and blue light-free bulbs fitted in most of our rooms but there are a few light fixtures where we haven’t got round to it. We have seen a huge improvement in our sleep, circadian health, moods, concentration and overall wellbeing since switching to these bulbs in 2020/21. One of my fave changes. - Wine Cabinet: We’re renting so this isn’t a feature of the house that is used by us for wine as we don’t drink. But we decided to use the space to store all of our medals and trophies. - Air Con: As a family we can’t stand air conditioning. I find it dries you out, causes coughs, stops you from climatizing so you never adjust to the heat and rely on air con even more and it also uses chemicals to cool the air. We use fresh air, open windows and awnings in the day for coolness and fans in the evenings when we sleep. 🫶 #healthyhome #healthymum #healthymom #crunchymum #crunchy #healthy #wellness #nontoxicliving
