  2. One day or day one 🥹 Last Spring I tried to get back into running and I ended up getting plantar fasciitis after reaching my first goal 😭 Ever since it has been a struggle to get back into running without excruciating foot pain even after months of physio but in November I started taking my recovery seriously. I got insoles, wore toe spacers, started stretching my calves, rolling out my arches, massages, using my theragun every single day, started eating less inflammatory foods and took a much slower approach to my cardio with more walking than jogging and slowly building my way back. I honestly didn’t see how much my running has improved since seeing these two videos side by side 🫣 115 days ago I could barely jog for a minute — I was out of breath, my feet ached but here we are in March and I’m running for miles pain free with so much more endurance. I’m going to be documenting more of my running journey this Spring. I’ve even booked a running assessment in a couple of weeks to improve my form! As the weather gets nicer I want to take my runs outdoors and that will be the real test for my arches 😬 I’m definitely an amateur runner but dare I say I am feeling motivated to maybe even sign up for a 10K race 😏 something I haven’t done since my twenties 🫣 If you have been thinking about getting back into running but you’ve dealt with challenges like foot pain or just simply being afraid to face the reality of your cardio taking a nose dive like I was, I hope I can offer you some inspiration! My first tip is to a good set of noise canceling headphones. It helped drown out the sound of my butt slapping’ the back of my legs and my huffing and puffing 😆😆😆 More to come so hit that follow button 🥰 #running #runwithme #runningjourney #runningcommunity #beginnerrunner #runninggirls #curvyrunner #runningwithcurves

  3. Day 1 vs Day 120 🏃🏾‍♀️ 4 month running progress — My form really approved around Day 90 🥹 When I began back in November, I knew that come Spring when the weather was nice again I wanted to be able to get outside and start running again. It seemed like such a lofty goal at the time because I was still struggling with foot pain that happened as a result of my previous attempt to start running last year. Instead of just 6 weeks, I gave myself 4 months to go from zero running to 5k running an average of 3x/week. I’ve also taken a much more realistic, compassionate approach to running this time around. Listening better to my body’s needs, taking more rest, incorporating walking and jogging intervals, taking my foot recovery seriously with insoles, stretching etc and cross-training in the gym to build my overall strength. I tend to be someone who A) is extremely impatient B) competitive AF so it took a lot of self restraint to take a chiller approach. No races, no deadlines, no finish lines that would push me to go beyond my capabilities or over perform. This is how I got here. It was actually the lack of structure, the absence of being rigid and regimented that allowed me to find my way back to enjoying running again — this was the greatest lesson of all. What began as a therapeutic way to help alleviate symptoms of depression, move through grief and help me feel like I was back in the drivers seat of my life has turned into an activity I never thought I’d find so much joy in again. It feels like I am reclaiming it. Like some kind of comeback that is restoring my faith in myself and hope. In May I have decided that I’m finally feeling ready to participate in my first “race”, I am thinking of trying a 10k but I may just stick with 5k I haven’t decided yet — I know I need more practice outside and hopefully with more sunny days ahead I’ll have a better idea. For now I’m just keeping one foot ahead of the other 🥰 #running #runner #runningcommunity #runningjourney #runningjournal #runningdiary #runningprogress #couchto5k #runwithme #beginnerrunner #runningmotivation #runninginspiration

  1. How to become a commercial model and book $10K jobs: There are two main types of modelling - high fashion and commercial. When most people think of modelling, they think of high fashion, where you must fit a very specific “model” look. However for commercial modelling, there’s a lot more flexibility. Here are the two main things casting agents for commercial jobs are looking for: 1. What you look like. Yes, this is still probably the most important thing, but, this is not just being “conventionally attractive”. For some brands, this might still be what they’re looking for, but oftentimes, they’re looking for more than just that, and place more importance on the specific features they’re looking for that have nothing to do with conventional attractiveness. Often they’re looking for (and will state this in the casting call) someone with a particular ethnicity, age, or specific identifying feature such as hairstyle or skin type or persona that is portrayed through their looks. I’ve attached some examples of casting calls I’ve gotten down below in the pinned comments \/. 2. Your acting - even if you have the right look visually in photos, once the camera is rolling, are you able to convincingly become the character they want you to be? Aka are you able to portray the right expressions, movements, and persona they’re looking for in videos on top of photos? If they want you to be a sophisticated businesswoman and mother of three for a high-end property ad, can you portray the confidence, elegance and maturity of that character? TLDR: Looking like a conventional “model” is not as important to book commercial jobs, fitting a specific look + having good acting /skills in front of the camera will get you far! 2. How to take a self tape that lands jobs: 1. Lighting!!! Aim for natural daylight lighting, or use a ringlight (I use one 12in in diameter on the warmest light setting, Amazon has these for pretty cheap and they’re good quality). Lighting actually makes all the difference (in my opinion) 2. Shoot horizontally. Casting directors prefer videos that are shot horizontally, they will usually say so in the casting call but this is the standard. 3. Natural makeup/neutral outfit. Make sure your makeup looks natural, and don’t wear any accessories/clothing that would be too distracting, since casting directors want to see what you actually look like/be able to envision you in the role they’re picturing. The exception is if you think you could wear something/ do your makeup a certain way to help you fit what they’re picturing better - then go for it! the idea is you want to look either like a blank slate or already looking like the character / already wearing the clothing + makeup style they were envisioning. 4. Show your personality! Since this is a video, you can really show your personality, I usually try to think about what type of personality or character the casting director is looking for for this role - and show that I would fit that role through this video. 5. Shoulders back/ Confidence. As someone with really bad posture (lol) I always make a point of trying to roll my shoulders back and portraying good energy/ confidence through the camera lens. #modeltips #modeladvice #castingcall #modelagency #modeling #casting #modelcasting
