  2. 👊🏽 The Port of Vancouver was completely shut down Feb 1 by over 150 activists, with diasporic Palestinian youth at the forefront. 🚚 Blocking access to trucks at the New Brighton and Clark & Hastings entrances to the Port cost Canada millions of $ in port traffic. ⛴️ 🚘 The beginning of the action was violent, with cars driving through us and one driver brandishing a weapon. But thorough planning, and community looking out for each other, kept us safe. ✊🏽 🚚🚛 Truck drivers for the most part were in full solidarity with our goals of disrupting business as usual and calling for an arms embargo on Israel. Some joined the protestors as did some port workers. ✊🏽 Solidarity with workers is in fact an intentional practice for us. We had prepared & handed out flyers in multilingual text. 🍉 Around noon, the cops threatened arrest at the New Brighton location, so the protesters left both locations having successfully shut down the port for four costly hours. ✊🏽🇵🇸 📰 The action made it into local newspapers, which usually ignore anything pro-Pstinian. The port blockade even made headline news on Democracy Now! in the USA. 🍉 Our key demand is to get Canada to act on the International Court of Justice decision imposing preliminary measures on Israel to avert the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. ✊🏽 We demand that Canada support the ICJ’s legally and morally binding ruling, and do so concretely by ending all arms trade with Israel.   🙏🏽🍉This video was compiled with images from numerous people. About 40 protesters showed up to tackle the would-be-prime-minister as he met with a small contingent of Iranians in the West End of Vancouver. 🙄 PP is running to be Canada’s next prime minister, but has yet to condemn Israel’s massacres, ethnic cleansing, and genocide of Palestinians. 🇺🇳 Instead, he’s been driving the push to defund UNRWA, the UN agency providing the only lifeline of humanitarian aid to the besieged population of Palestinians in Gaza. ⚖️. He also dismissed the ICJ (International Court of Justice) overwhelming 15-2 majority ruling that it is “plausible” the state of Israel is carrying out a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. The ICJ is the world body that adjudicates countries’ violations of Geneva conventions. 🌎 Polivere’s open support for Itshell’s genocide and ethnic cleansing of Pal3st1ne will accelerate Canada’s ongoing isolation from the international community of nations. 🗳️ We must stop him. The Liberals are no better when it comes to supporting itshell’s genocide. But the Conservatives will be worse. We have to strategise carefully about how to not be completely disenfranchised in the next federal elections. Join a neighbourhood for Pal3st group! 🙄 Btw when he starts chanting IGRC, he’s referring to the International Revolutionary Guard of Iran). He was basically playing to the crowd by accusing Canadian protesters of being Islamists.
