Okay, NOW it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas ✨🍊💙🍒 This is our first year where our stairwell isn’t torn apart during Christmas, and I wanted to make it count! 🤶🏼😍 Also - dedicated story watchers have been waiting (mostly 🤣) patiently for the longest-ever reveal in Instagram history - our FINAL stairwell reveal! The black was really nice and I know a lot of people doubted me when I said I wanted to paint over it, but painting the banister taupe to match the loft/great room railing was 100% the right choice! It feels so much more cohesive with the rest of the house now. Plus it really allows that garland to have the moment it deserves 🤩 If you’ve been following along, what do you think?!?!

  1. She’s here! We welcomed her quickly to our family on Saturday morning ❤️ Ayla Katherine Grace June 12th at 6:18am 7lbs 14oz (our smallest baby!) I was in early labour on Friday evening and wondered if things would pick up or slow down. I sent Mark out with friends because I wasn’t sure what would happen and just laid low in bed watching Parks and Rec and wrote a post for Instagram 😅 then I tried to go to sleep. I woke Mark up and called our doula at 2am on Saturday and went into heavy active labour at 4am. We had home births for both of our boys, but with only 1 midwife on call this weekend who was at the hospital in the middle of delivering another baby, we went to the hospital at 5am, my water broke at 6am and she was born a few minutes later. We left the hospital at 1:30pm, stopped to grab a coffee and a cookie from the shop (much needed 😂), and our boys just met her this morning. ❤️ It’s so weird to say “she” - and we couldn’t be happier to have her here. We are excited for this next season…. it should be fun and interesting 🤗😀

  3. He’s here ❤️ Mak Richard Shmelinski 9lbs 1oz (my biggest baby) Born on May 23rd at 4:21pm Our little man baby - with a full head of hair. 😅🥰 This has been such a special experience. I thought Ayla was our last baby, so to have one more birth/newborn makes my heart even more full. It really makes me realize just how special and sacred of a time this is. This pregnancy was much different than my first 3 and pushed me to my limits and mental capacity in many ways. This birth experience was also very different and much more intense — I am legitimately so thankful and in awe of what I was able to do but only with the help of my amazing support team. I believed for a few very specific things with this birth, and while it looked very different getting to that point that I thought (typical), I am so thankful for how the hope I had carried me through a lot of unknowns and intensity. Our last little baby, and our final home birth. ❤️ I really love how different experiences in life are always teaching us new things. A lot of the time it just takes time to really process through — but if you really lean and don’t rush the processing time (which can often feel uncomfortable), you’ll come out the other side with growth and clarity. My very random ramblings from a 1.5 day postpartum mom 😂❤️ This is our family of 6!

Gods redemption story in my life… Something I have never really shared with this platform was that at the beginning of 2021 (1 month before we got pregnant with Ava) my prayer to God was to help me build a stronger relationship with Him. I didn’t know how or where to start. A month later we became pregnant. 20 weeks in we got the first diagnosis. I fully surrendered to the Lord during my pregnancy and after Ava was born I got baptized and saved. Through all the stress and hurt of my pregnancy I believe God was answering my first prayer which was to learn to lean on Him & His understanding. He was teaching me how to have a deep relationship with Him just as I had prayed. I started last Christmas with an old machine that was given to me, but i couldn’t figure out how to work it for the life of me. Might’ve just been too old. I finally bought a new sewing machine recently! Spent hours on YouTube tutorials, researching the machine, studying it online. I finally got the chance to do some actual sewing last night and it was actually very therapeutic! I’m so proud of myself haha. The sweater turned out better than I thought.   2. Shave your legs and wax your body so everyone doesn’t see you’re THAT hairy. Don’t eat too much- you have to fit into your bathing suit next month. Buy that expensive cream to avoid getting stretch marks. Don’t talk about your period infront of men, it will gross them out. Don’t hunch when you sit, so your stomach skin doesn’t rest on your thighs. Don’t wear tank tops because your back fat is going to hang out. Don’t go bra-less in public because everyone will see your new saggy breastfeeding boobs. I know for a fact, you, sis, have said one or even all of these things to yourself at one point in your life. But what’s crazy, is that you would never look to the sister beside you and say any of that. The body is a sacred vessel, but it is not you. The body is a living gift, a complex instrument of functions and sensations with an excellent capacity to connect through worship.. but it is NOT “you”. Your body is a transceiver; you transmit a physical image out as physical light — it reflects off everything around you and returns as your environment. With this reflection delivered to your body's senses; you can either fixate on how you feel, which is life's concept, or you can have an experience of the feeling and find the lesson within it, which is living. When the body focuses on image, concept becomes the controlling factor and image becomes the super high maintenance insecurity. It is time to nourish a more conscious, more fulfilling journey... the actual experience of the experience of life. What you look like doesn’t define who you are. It is not the deciding factor in your happiness. Experiencing experiences will not be “more fun” if you weigh less. Disconnect the way you look from the way you show up as your true self. Bc hunny you can lose the weight all you want but if you don’t love who you are deep down when you’re at “your worst”, you will never be able to love yourself at your perceived “best”. #stretchmarksarebadass #saggyboobsmatter #vulnerable but I feel called to speak it.

  2. There’s a couple reasons I love this one. ☝🏼 It’s got great education potential. This time we matched colours, but you could absolutely add shapes or letters or number to the stickers and papers to match up too! ✌🏼 Korbs loved playing with this after he was all done the gluing and matching because it was bridges and tunnels for his cars and figures. It’s honestly pretty low prep for the potential of it and Korbs has already asked to do it again!   3. And suddenly a lot of moms felt very seen 👀 Being left out. Not invited. No explanation. And the immediate spiral of: “What did I do wrong?”, “Did I do something?”, “Am I too much? Not enough?” She called her mom group “toxic” and chose to step away - and honestly, I can see why that resonated with so many people. That feeling of not belonging without knowing why can seriously mess with your head. Here’s the truth we don’t talk about enough: Sometimes it’s not you. Sometimes it’s a toxic dynamic that survives on exclusion, hierarchy, and unspoken rules you were never meant to follow. At the same time… I also get that some people might hear this and think, “Is this just part of adult friendships?” or “Is she being dramatic?” Two things can be true. You can protect your peace AND acknowledge that not everyone will agree with your perspective. If you’ve never experienced this kind of exclusion, I’m genuinely happy for you - I wouldn’t wish that feeling on anyone. But if you have? That’s that, Canada 🇨🇦 to Switzerland 🇨🇭 I had meant to film us leaving while still in Canada but life happened, we were rushed and I didn’t 🤪 About a year and a half ago an opportunity was floated around to us about moving abroad. We had had some opportunities before for moving to places like California or China, but they weren’t for us. We always said if Europe ever came up we’d go. To be honest on my end it was sort of an empty promise. Europe was never an opportunity for progression so I figured it wasn’t really going to happen. And then it did and we said yes. It went against everything that’s comfortable and natural for me. Moving to a brand new place, with no community, no family and not knowing the language; it’s so out of my comfort zone but we did it. We knew we’d never get another chance like this again - sort of that once in a lifetime opportunity. So for the next couple of years this is where we’ll call home. We have plans to explore Switzerland and LOTS of Europe and take advantage of where we are. Leaving friends and family was super tough (and I’m hoping lots come and visit!!   2. 🎉Avia is 9 today!🎉 Avia is our second youngest but, I think she’s a mix of oldest, middle, and youngest child when it comes to her personality!☺️ She has the sweetest, most go-with-the-flow temperament and is just happy to be included. She was one of my easiest babies and continues to make me wonder how I got so lucky to be her mommy.💕 I love that we get to spend so much time together homeschooling and that I’ve been able to really watch her grow up. She has the kindest heart, the wittiest sense of humour, and the most contagious laugh.🥰 She requested a pool party with snacks and music for her birthday because we did that last year and she said it was the best ever. So, that’s just what we did and I’m now officially the best mom ever… according to her!😍 She will forever be affectionately known as my Little Tiny, no matter how old she gets. I love everything about this girl and I’m so happy to celebrate her birthday another year.❤️

THIS GUY got his driving permit today!🚗🙀 I’m not sure how we got here because it seems like just yesterday he was 5.😭 Also, I’m only 29 so the math just doesn’t add up...🧐 It’s bittersweet but I’m so happy we made it to this moment.   2. It was literal magic when I finally arrived at our forever home today. It felt like it’s been waiting for us forever, it was meant to be; this is home. As soon as I pulled in the driveway it was like the everything stressful and heavy just melted away… the snow was magic, the kids were beyond excited and it is officially ours @nickpower365 I’ve been waiting for this for so long. The house I lived in for the past 12 years was meant to be a flipped house that I was only supposed to have for a year or two… two babies and a husband later here we are, bursting at the seams and ready to move on. Don’t get me wrong. I have amazing memories in my old house; babies were born, love was lost, blood, sweat and tears were put into that house. All chapters come to an end, and then there is a new beginning. I haven’t cried tears of joy in a long time, today I did. I’m so happy to be home.
