  3. YAGP Finals 2024 in New York City was an experience I won’t forget, and I am completely honoured to have been awarded the Gold Medal in the Junior Men’s Category. I want to give a huge thank you to YAGP for all that you do for dancers and for creating an excellent environment where ballet dancers from all over the world can come together, make friends, and support each other. Thank you, Ms Larissa and Mr Gennadi, for all of your support. Our futures are brighter because of what you began 25 years ago. I would also like to thank my ballet school, @balletblochcanada and my teachers: Ms. Tracy-Lea Bloch, Ms. Muriel Teague, Mr. Tom Teague, and Ms. Monica Proenca for all of your excellent training this year. I was so fortunate to learn from you all. Lastly, I also want to thank Ms. Maria Konrad for my contemporary solo, which I performed in the finals gala. Congratulations to all the dancers who participated in finals—it was so nice to meet so many of you! #ballet #balletboys #boysdancetoo #dancersofinstagram #dance #blackboysdancetoo #competition #contemporarydance #yagp #instagramfordancers #worldwidedance #worldwideballet #WorldBalletProject #ballet_a #balletpost #igdancers #male_dancers_ #maledancerss #boysofballet #MelaninMission #dancemagme #dancemale #blackboysdancetoo #theballetscene #InstaBallet #yagpfinals2024 @instagramfordancers @instaballetofficial @ballet_a @balletclub_ @boysofballet @maleballetvideos @male_dancers_ @bloch_eu @lululemon @blackboysdancetoo @renatosobailarinos @worldwideballet @worldwidedance @worldballetproject

  1. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Words cannot express my gratitude. Saturday night was a magical day. I woke up with an incredible sense of calmness, as I entered the theatre I found my beautiful colleagues had decorated my dressing room with balloons, hearts and photos, from then on, the feeling of admiration and love just kept on coming. The performance itself was all I could have hoped for and more. The spirit of Blanche came over me and I was truly able to be in the moment from start to end, no thoughts or distractions, nothing but the opportunity to live this character and her truth. To have so many of my colleagues on stage with me to share that journey is indescribable, and the energy of the audience was palpable. As the curtain came down the essence of Blanche and the intensity of the performance lingered in the air, what a fulfilling and emotional experience. Taking my last bows as a principal of this beautiful company I have called my home for 32 years, was one of the most specials moments of my career. I feel grateful and so full of joy in my heart. The last three days I have spent reading messages, cards and comments and I want to thank you all for the many years of support and love, and for taking the time to share with me your impressions and stories. I have always hoped that my art was more than just entertainment, I strive to take my audience with me on a journey of discovery, to challenge them to questions things and learn about themselves in the process. So hearing about how I may have in, any small way contributed to that, has been so very rewarding. For those who know me personally and have share with me stories about our lives together thank you. You have allowed me to experience my life again through your eyes and what a beautiful gift that has been. Now I look forward to continuing to watch all my beautiful friends up on stage and to let them take me on their journey. Wishing everyone an incredible opening night for the mix program, I will be there tonight ready to be transported. With much love 💗 @nationalballet 📷 @perssonphotography #finalbows

  2. I can’t believe The Ballet Lounge is turning 5 years old! I have been dreaming of this milestone since we first opened👯‍♀️ Over the past week, my Insta memories were filled with previous @balletlounge birthdays. I can’t help but feel anticlimactic because, we can’t celebrate together in true BL Fashion🍾 It’s been one hell of a ride and none of it was easy. People usually only see the success. They don’t see the hard work and sacrifices made to get there. I almost didn’t survive my first year because everything went wrong. Believe me when say that I was as prepared as anyone could be. I studied small business, had a solid biz plan, got a loan, was an expert in my industry with a strong following. What started with a reno nightmare, propelled into several years where I paid everyone but myself. I was overwhelmed with bills, behind on rent and incurred debt. Through this, my kindness was mistaken for weakness. I have been mistreated and taken advantage of from clients and staff, whom I trusted and cared for. I have been working 12-14 hour days, 7 days a week for as long as I can remember. It’s more than just teaching dance & fitness. It’s sales, marketing, strategic planning, client/staff management, event planning, cash flow and lots of emails and spreadsheets 🙈I barely have time for choreo, class planning and playlists (which are my favourite things to do). I still have zero work/life balance and currently suffering from Entrepreneurial Burnout. I’m working on this so I can keep my sanity and dream alive. Before the pandemic, I was on track to have my best year yet. I had a full team of amazing staff supporting my vision and growth. That all came a screaming halt when Miss Rona showed up😷 It’s been a challenging year for everyone yet, I feel small businesses have been hit the hardest. I keep seeing places close for good and it breaks my heart. I feel very blessed to still be standing and it’s all thanks to you: my Valued BL Community, my Rockstar Staff, Inspiring Business Coaches, Supportive Friends & Family. Thank you for always being there, especially during the dark times. You help remind me of my purpose and who I really am. I love you all💖

  3. Hi Everyone! Today, I want to share a bit of my story and why I opened the @balletlounge 🖤 For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a ballerina. Ballet was my first love and I started training at a very young age. I first went to the gym to meet the physical demands of my art. I fell in love with the fitness industry because, I learned that anyone could be fit and healthy regardless of their shape or size 💪🏻 After I quit dance, I became a personal trainer and group fitness instructor because, I developed a strong desire to help others feel good about themselves. I wanted everyone to feel strong and beautiful regardless of their body shape or type. Thoughout this time, I missed ballet however I couldn’t find a welcoming studio that offered real adult ballet. I realized that it was my calling to create an inclusive and supportive environment for adults to learn how to dance and workout. That is when I combined my love for dance, fitness and house music to create my signature class: Ballet Fit®. Shortly after, I opened the Ballet Lounge® which offers Adult Only Ballet for all levels. We also provide other dance and fitness classes which compliment our ballet programming 🩰 Since then, I have helped thousands of people reach their dreams of preforming in their first dance recital, successfully completing their first ever RAD Ballet Exam to earning their first pair of pointe shoes! Through my experience, I understand that learning dance as an adult can be intimidating, but I can assure you that dance is for everyone and it’s not too late to learn - or step back into the studio! I would love to talk to you about your goals and how we can help you succeed on your dance journey - as well as making your dreams come true! Send me a DM with your questions and stories, I would love to connect! 🖤 www.BalletLounge.com
