  1. If you want defined bouncy curls, your hair needs to be properly conditioned and wet enough to clump well. Most are going to get the best clumps and definition when styling on hair that is soaking wet, maybe even dripping wet. Some will do better with it more on the damp side. So, play around with wetness levels to see what works best for you. Regardless, if you're not hearing the squishing sound when scrunching, it's likely not wet enough to style on & you will end up with stringy curls and excessive frizz. Once your hair is styled, however, you are going to want to remove that excess water as soon as possible and get it dry as fast as possible. Over time, given your hair too much, hydration/moisture (water) could damage the structure and cause dryness, frizziness, and stringy limp curls. 🔹️Side note: the size of your clumps will depend on your curl pattern. If you have a looser pattern, your clumps will likely be on the bigger size. If you have a tighter pattern, then they will likely be smaller.   2. Mousse-Gel 🆚️ Gel-Mousse ⏬️⏬️ Here's what I noticed between the 2 different applications on my fine wavy curly hair. Mousse-Gel 🌸Lightweight 🌸Bouncy 🌸Has volume and definition 🌸Diffuses within 15-20 minutes Gel-Mousse 🌸Weighed down 🌸Has little volume and less definition 🌸My hair was still very wet after micro-plopping 🌸Diffusing takes 30-45 minutes or more There is no right or wrong way to apply these 2 products. I generally find working from lightest to heaviest work better for most, which would mean mousse then gel. However, whatever way gives you your desired look is the way you should go with. For me, I like volume, bounce, definition, and a quick dry time, so mousse then gel seems to work better for me🥰 Which way gives your hair the desired look you want?   3. OMG 😲 those curls, if we can even call them that, where so bad🤦🏻‍♀️ Here's what I do differently now, vs. then 💜Using a shampoo to cleanse my scalp, as often as needed. This is generally with a clarifying/chelating shampoo 2-3 × a week. 💜Only deep conditioning when and if necessary. 💜Using a bond repair treatment and protein treatments weekly or when needed. 💜Reduced bleaching and not overlapping bleach. I stopped bleaching 10 months ago, colored my hair back to its natural color, and now use semi-permanent color to my roots only. 💜Let go of dead ends & length. 💜Always brushing through products just before scrunching. No fancy brush styling to over manipulate curls. 💜Switched to lightweight products, reduced the amount of conditioning products, and added proper hold. 💜Wet plop and microplop only 💜Styling on properly saturated/hydrated hair 💜Diffusing with no air drying ✨️TIME!! Even if I had started doing all this right from the start, time would still have been needed to allow my hair to heal and recover.   2. DAMN. I got backdoored. 🤪 To leave the Big Brother Canada house as a "pawn" and never getting the chance to fight for my game in the POV competition truly stings like no other. My game was essentially in the houseguests hands and I got done dirty. What I will say is that it was a good game move. My social game was thriving and had I gotten my hands on some power, ouhhhhhh, it would’ve been over 😅I would have made BIG moves! I have ZERO regrets but I will say that if I could’ve tweaked one thing about my game it would have been to campaign harder when I was put up as a replacement nominee because I truly feel like my kindness was used against me.   2. The first photo is December 2023 and the second photo was taken just last week on my vacation. I am officially down 30 pounds and, although I still have more goals set for myself, I felt so much joy comparing these two photos. I really wanted to celebrate this achievement today and figured I’d share a bit about my journey. 🙏🏽 Being an athlete all my life I always took for granted being “in shape”, but never really honed the discipline needed to stay in shape when I stopped being involved in athletics. Fast forward to adulthood, the stresses/lack of time management from business and other life events led to me gaining over 50 pounds. I could hear myself huffing and puffing from just walking up the stairs and decided I needed to tackle the discipline issue that always had me starting but not continuing. Comfort eating, being overly aware of how I looked and not wanting to feel or look unathletic or out of shape to others had me shying away from the gym and other places. Then I re-plugged into the HIIT classes at @crunchcambridge and it changed my entire journey. The classes are a space where you can push your limits while staying within them, and the consistent schedule allowed me to really prioritize making it a part of my life. The best part by FAR are the instructors. The more you go, the more they learn about you and your journey. They push you to add that extra weight when they know you can, or encourage you on the exercises they know may be tougher for you. I recommend them to anyone trying to get back into their fitness game. I also began using the app @hwf “How We Feel”. This app helps you to track your emotions and therefore helps you to explore and understand them. Instead of turning to food, I tried to use this and other methods to confront and deal with how I was feeling rather than try to appease it. I still have goals I want to achieve, but I have accepted this as a journey with an open ending rather than a quick-fix, and it’s given me the grace to allow myself to stumble through it.   3. A few weeks ago I celebrated my 30th birthday, and when asked how it felt to be 30, the only word I could confidently say was gratitude. As much as I was apprehensive about leaving my 20’s behind, I was reminded about how blessed I am to have reached 30 years old. After I thought about my friends, family, faith, community, job, and health, it didn’t feel right to complain about any part of this milestone. I am so grateful. Grateful for everything I’ve learned, the way I’ve grown my relationship with God and the life I have yet to live. Thanking God everyday for His innumerable gifts to me.
