I’m currently treading the fine line of knitting orders, and keeping space to fully prepare for my upcoming markets, and still giving time for those last minute knits in December. . . And I’ll also be at the market @wildmountaindinners in Sooke on December 15 for last minute purchases. I’m working hard to have lots of ready-made items for sale including hats and garments, silk scarves, naturally dyed tablecloths and napkins, yarn kits and knitting patterns.   1. A few years back I was at a friends and we were making bucket lists. I vividly remember writing “take a photo that means something”. My friends were confused because doesn’t every photo mean something? Yes, of course. And I’ve photographed live births, over 200 weddings, growing families, fresh newborns, - of course they all mean something. . But this shoot right here, is arguably some of the most important work I’ll ever do. These are photos that MEAN something. Baby Faith & her parents are living every parents worst fear. Faith was diagnosed with a tumour in her liver and it’s unfortunately spread to her lungs. At just 10 months old she’s completed 6 rounds of chemo, at least 40 injections, a feeding tube and an intubated ICU stay. They were told chances of her getting this form of cancer were one in a million. Yet every day Faith wakes up smiling her freaking adorable cheeky smile. She’s the definition of a fighter. She’s the definition of light. I think she’s learning it first hand from Katie & Ryan. Those two are incredible parents and it’s been astonishing watching them handle this with such grace. . I’m so glad our paths crossed. With every ounce of my being I am rooting for your family. I think of you daily. Thank you trusting me with these moments. Thank you for letting me love up on Faith in person. Thank you for being brave enough to share her with the world. Thank you Katie for a genuine one mom to another hug when our session ended. I felt the weight you’re carrying and I wish I could lighten it for you. . Faith, you truly are one in a million and this whole wide world is cheering for you.
