  2. some big shifts happening.. @asmokersreveries and i are welcoming a baby boy in april! 🩵 the last few months have been a whirlwind of raw emotion, major upside-downing, undoing and becoming. and we couldn’t be more proud, excited and hopeful for this next chapter to begin. it’s been tricky navigating this blossoming little galaxy with what’s going on in palestine right now, our hearts breaking and growing at the same time. so many days ive not been able to stop crying, and other days, feeling him kick and worm around, we feel joy. its a confusing time. we felt not right in sharing the news, while watching worlds being decimated. but we also hope, to share a piece of ourselves, some sense of joy amidst the horror, to remind ourselves that love exists. thank you eli, for being the kind of partner id always hoped to someday meet, but never believed existed. you surprised me and turned things upside down in every possible way. in the last year, from new orleans to new york to georgia and LA, northern alberta and around this little island to the interior - it’s already been lifetimes lived and depths reached in this short span. your endless love, support, nurturing, romance, insight, and bewildering patience will never be lost on me 💗 i was never sure id be a mom, but you made me feel so many possibilities. thank you for holding my darkness and light, for inspiring and challenging me to truly be better, and loving me for exactly as i am. you’re the best man ive ever met, and im endlessly grateful that we can exorcise some demons together. you and tata are slowly softening this nihilist. im welcoming the scariest and the biggest chrysalis and role of my life. motherhood is already an awe inspiring cup overflowing with sparkles✨

I also changed the pattern just a little as I gear up to write more patterns in the next couple of months, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Stay tuned for more newness.   2. I’m officially leaving tattooing! Eeeeee!!! Scary! But also a huge relief 😮‍💨 Tattooing has been such a huge part of my life for the past 6 years. I was so lucky to be mentored by Cate and to have my entire career start, grow, and finish at @blackcat.tattoo I’ve needed to leave for a while, but had trouble letting go. It was really important to me to be able to call myself a working artist, and I couldn’t imagine losing that. But I’ve slowly warmed to the idea, and now I’m so much happier NOT being a working artist. Trying to survive solely on my creativity was exhausting and was ruining the art-making process for me. But there was still so much good! I got to meet lots of cool people and make lots of friends. It was so great to work with my fellow artists everyday, and I had a lot of freedom. But in the end, it just wasn’t the right creative outlet for me. I also have chronic pain caused my hyper mobility (a post for another time) and tattooing and chronic pain are NOT a good match! I’ve waited to announce this until there was no going back, and I couldn’t be tempted to do “one last tat”. My spot has been filled at the shop, so it’s final 😤 I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I come out of retirement with a new name and aesthetic, but for now, the tat journey is done 🫡 But the art journey continues!💪 Thank you again to @darqwebb and all my fellow Black Cats xoxoxooxoxoxo
