  3. I might be the only one with a bib number and a buckle here, but this race finish was definitely a team effort. I struggled early on with the altitude, and had trouble finding my climbing legs. The foot injury that took me out of the Eiger 100k last year also flared up about 50k in, but this time I was determined not to stop (read: I would not let a medic look at it). 😉 I was excited to pick up my 1st pacer @alpineheather15 at mile 49 after a long and fairly lonely day, but the night was pretty rough. Fighting sleepiness, managing injury and struggling to keep food down (even had a little puke, but not much of a rally). By the time the sun came up, I felt like a shell of a human, surviving on Tylenol and caffeine pills, begging to finally descend (and stay) below 2,800m. After a much needed reset at mile 68, I started feeling better, and could count on @coralcandleford to remind (ahem, force) me to eat every 20 minutes or so, and together we made our way through the final 32 miles, albeit a little slower than I would have liked. While I was in it, I felt like everything was going wrong, and I failed to see that I was actually doing just fine. In hindsight, I am happy with the outcome, and I am proud of how I handled the curveballs thrown at me over the course of those 34 hours. Big thank you to @highlonesome100 for putting on an absolutely world-class event on very challenging terrain. I have nothing but good things to say about each of the many volunteers I’ve come across, and I highly recommend this event to any runner looking to challenge themselves. Thank you also to our partners in this adventure; @lawswhiskey @arcteryxbc @fenixlight and @corosglobal. Your support means the world!
