  2. If you know me, you know its no secret that I am vegan and have been for over 5 years – I guess you could say I am pretty outspoken about it 😏. One thing I fear I do not talk enough about is how I do not believe that being vegan is possible for everyone and here’s why. 1️⃣ People who struggle with or are recovering from eating disorders and cannot engage with a restrictive diet such as veganism. 2️⃣ Living in a remote or rural area where access to supermarkets is sparce. 3️⃣ Living at home with family members who are not supportive. 4️⃣ Cultural attachments to certain non-vegan foods. For example, indigenous communities have long held traditions and identity tied to animals. 5️⃣ People who rely on food that is given to them from food banks and do not have the luxury of being selective with what they eat. 6️⃣ So many more reasons!!! Though I do not ever see myself going back to eating animal products, it is an integral part of my identity, I recognize that there is a lot of privilege that I possess to be able to continue as one. I am not saying this to act as a “free pass” or “absolve” anyone of guilt they might feel, rather to start a conversation on the privilege that is required to be 100% vegan. If it is something that interests you but for any of the reasons listed above (or others), you cannot be 100% vegan or vegetarian, I would encourage you to cut down on your consumption of animal products. If a million people ate one vegan meal a week that would have a greater impact than 5 people being fully vegan. Do what works best for you and your unique life situation. For anyone interested in being vegan or incorporating more vegan meals in their life, my dm’s are always open 💖
