  1. 🍁Your girl only went and did it! 🍁 So I went ginger! All by my self and with semi permanent! Im still undecided if I let it wash out or go more orange! What do you think?? Of course I filmed how I did it at home so will post this weekend. #haircolour #curlyhair #curlycolor #wavyhair #curlcare #hairideas #hairinspo

  2. 🍊Updated colour and cut!🍊 After my previous experiment going orange at home my hairdresser @zac_fennell at @ba1hair gave me a fresh cut and sort the colour properly with @aveda (it’s demi permanent so will fade) I’m absolutely obsessed with the shine that the gloss gives (shout of to Paris who killed it with the colour!) I’m feeling it for a nice change for winter but can’t promise that I won’t go back to my normal blondie/brownie! What do you think? Are you changing your hair for autumn? #curlycommunity #curlycolor #haircolor #hairinspiration #hairinspo #hairideas #curlyhair #curlygirlmethod

  1. ✨A year of hair✨ I’ve been having a bit of a break from social media over Christmas, but I’ve really enjoyed seeing everyone’s roundups of their hair journey this year, so I had to join in! Can you tell which month I started the Curly Girl Method? It’s pretty obvious 😂 can’t believe how much my curls have come on since then! #curlygirlmethod #curlygirl #ukcurlies #cgm #cgmethod #curls #curlycommunity #curlyhair #curlyhairdontcare #longhair #thickhair #bighair #wavyhair #wavygirl #waves #redhair #redhead #ginger #gingercurls #redcurls #longredhair #yearofcurls #yearofhair #beforeandafterhair #hairprogress #2020curls #hairtransformation #hairjourney

  2. ✨Brush styling with @lusbrands✨ This reel is part of some marketing content I was paid to create for @lusbrands - if you follow them you’ve probably already seen it! I wasn’t obliged to post it to my own feed but it’s too good not to share 🥰 I absolutely LOVE the results I get with this combo of products and styling technique 💖 Have you tried brush styling yet? #curlyhair #curls #hairroutine

  3. Before and after a 💦wet refresh💦 I tend not to refresh most days because I’m too lazy 😂 but I’ve had a couple of days off work so thought I’d treat myself to some fresh curls! My preferred method is basically a wash day without the wash: 💦Fully soaked hair then applied @curlyellie leave in conditioner 💦Plopped for 20 mins then damp styled with @suncoatproducts mousse and gel 💦Part diffused with soft hood attachment, air dried the rest of the way, then slept in the cast 💦Scrunched out the crunch with @forestandshoreltd hallelujah hair oil The dry time is a bit of a bugger, which is why I don’t do it very often - but you can’t argue with these results! 💁‍♀️ #curlygirlmethod #curlygirl #ukcurlies #cgm #cgmethod #curls #curlycommunity #curlyhair #curlyhairdontcare #longhair #thickhair #bighair #wavyhair #wavygirl #redhair #redhead #ginger #gingercurls #redcurls #longredhair #hairrefresh #wetrefresh

  1. If only wash days were really this fast! Check out the caption below for more tips 💕 🧡 Always start out on soaking wet hair. Apply more water throughout the styling process if you feel it starting to dry 🧡 Apply a hydrating leave in conditioner or curl cream (or both, if your hair likes it!) to make sure your hair is moisturised and frizz free. Here I used the @kerastase_official Creme de Jour Fondamentale 🧡 Apply a medium hold gel. I love the @curlsmith_official Hydro Flexi Jelly as it has great hold and is super hydrating 🧡 Finger coil your top layer for added definition (great hack if you don’t have the time/patience to do your entire head!) 🧡 Diffuse (check out my diffusing reel for more tips!) 🧡 Scrunch out the crunch with an oil. Here I’m using the @olaplex no.7 Bonding Oil This wash day took me about an hour and a half in total, but I find that the more effort I put in on wash day, the longer it lasts me! How long does your wash day take from start to finish? Comment below! 💕

  2. How I transformed my curls! ✨ These before photos were all taken in summer 2020. My hair was incredibly heat damaged, breaking off, dry and struggling! Following these tips totally transformed my hair over time. I hope these are motivating to anyone starting their curly journey as if I can do it, anyone can! 💕 Tips from the video: 🤍 No more heat styling 🤍 High quality, natural styling products 🤍 Sulphate free shampoos & conditioners 🤍 Regular deep conditioning treatments 🤍 Regular bond building treatments 🤍 Learning how to apply products in the right way

  3. Top curly hair tips for creating more volume ✨ 1. Use a lightweight leave in conditioner or curl cream, something that’s going to hydrate your curls without weighing it down. You may need to experiment with the amount of product you use to find that perfect balance between volume/keeping the frizz at bay. I used the @curlsmith_official Weightless Air Dry Cream. 2. Brush your hair up and away from your head. This is critical to ensuring your curls are lifted from the roots and do not end up flat to your scalp. 3. Use a volumising mousse and don’t forget to apply this to your roots. My favourite is the @johnfriedauk Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse. 4. Diffuse your hair upside down (and all directions - side to side/right way up!) This will ensure your hair has lots of movement. 5. Scrunch/fluff out your hair with an oil when 100% dry to unlock that insane volume! I used the @cocunat Capillary Argan Serum. What are your top tips for volume? 💕

  1. Garden furniture... I have been holding out for the dream collaboration with one these big companies that do celebrity collaborations with all these big fancy furniture. But i it wasn’t meant to be. So, I did what I do best. I found a good study (as very important when fabulous and fluffy) garden furniture set I could upcycle. So here you are, table £20 off @facebookmarketplace , waterproof cushions from @ebay_uk and good ole @makeitrustoleum. What do you think? I am so happy with it and it will most certainly do until I win the lottery. #prproduct below @makeitrustoleum #blackhomesuk #blackhome #blackfamily #blackfurniture #blackgarden #blackgardeners #upcycledfurniture #upcyclingfurniture #upcyling #furnituremakeover #gardendesigner #gardenfurniture #gardenfurnitures #gardenfurnituredesign #gardeninspo #gardenideas #femalediycollective #femalediy #diygarden #repurposedfurniture #gardensofinsta #gardeningtips #glowupmypad #glowuptips

  2. my son If you are new to my page and snippets of personal sharing. You wouldn’t be aware of the long and tortious fertility journey we had to gain our son, Isaiah Azrael Justice Austin . That being said as parents who longed for our son, our final piece of our family jigsaw. Who is loved and cherished beyond words. It breaks my heart to think of the systems in place and the people that wouldn’t value my children’s place on this earth. All due to his brown skin. What a shit world hey? The last 12 months as been so physically, mentally and emotionally crazy for us all. But the added moving home, renovating, changing education setting. Pandemic, furlough, financial strain and worry. Nothing comes close to the anxiety I get when thinking of my beautiful, loving and super intelligent black son take on the world. All of that extreme and valid worry for parents of black children and young adults is so overwhelming. I have sat in reflection today. As today marks such milestone when the constructs of racism could no longer be ignored by those who chose to not see it. When a police officer knelt on a mans neck for 9 minutes, whilst the world watched his life drift from him. Whilst he called repeatedly for his mother. I still can’t help feel so must pain and so much raging anger. But I won’t let that day be in vain, I will continue doing the work. For myself, my son, my bonus children and anyone else I happen across. 3. The Welcome to our home.... Our hallway or entrance was the thing when the keys were handed over to enter our new home depressed me the most. When visiting the house to start chipping away at making it a home, it instantly drained me. It was so cold, so unloved and piled to his Victorian ceilings with high sheen magnolia woodchip wallpaper, aka rice pudding walls. The entrance to a home is so important in my opinion. It’s your homes first impression and helps set the tone for the rest of the house. I knew I wanted panelling and wallpaper (panelling still pending). The wallpaper I wanted to be tropical, with a Victorian opulence for the period of the home. Tj is very every shade of white minimalist in his home interior style and I the opposite obviously. So believe it or not, I do raine it in. Some of the wallpapers I chose was a hard no from him, as they were too much, too busy. So this one was my first option, but then as always with my wallpaper choices I got FOMO and started ordering more. To then after spending a months worth of food shopping on samples I went back to the first one. I did also intend to do a dark panel bottom colour. But when Tj mist coated the walls, I loved the white. It is a colour match, so it’s white with a hint of green. Still loads of bits to do, like the tiled porch entrance, art gallery, floor trims and of course the panelling. But what do you think thus far? 1. I put @dove.uki scalp hair therapy range to the ultimate test.. I have a very specific way of washing my hair out of a protective style, this is what I call my “wash in braid”technique, take out your note pad class is in session! #hairgoals #dovesclaptherapy #washdayroutine #type4hair #hairreel *REVIEW* Shampoo: the density and growth shampoo foams fast, always apply a shampoo to a wet scalp! This is proven to clean rigorously. Smells lovely not to over bearing I did shampoo twice as my hair was in that style over 2 weeks. (I know it doesn’t look a week old lol) Conditioner: the density & growth conditioner is a light, non heavy conditioner which made undoing the braids super easy, really good slip I do prefer heavier conditioners due to the high density of my hair however I don’t have any complaints used quite a lot as you see I have a lot of hair (even after recently trimming) Hair mask: The density & growth 10-in-1 strengthening mask is the evolution of the conditioner, this slaps!! Once you see “strengthening” in the title it will contain protein with zinc + Amino complex & biotin B7 this is designed to make your hair stronger + shine and control frizz. There’s a very noticeable difference once it’s applied onto my hair, I’m impressed with the formula as the consistency of the mask has a rich creamy feel, which breaks with instant contact giving lots of slip. My hair was eating this up, I have a new favourite hair mask this year! Scalp serum: The density & growth scalp serum has wowed me! I like everything about this let’s start with the bottle design, GENUIS… making the nib a push button whilst being closed, which gives a hands free experience is what I never knew I wanted. I’ve used the serum 6/7 days since I’ve styled my hair. Seals in all the moisture, creates cushion feel whilst breaking a gel cast. Pairs well with the styling gel I was using. It’s a lightweight serum ideal for daily usage, will be staying in my rotation!

  2. 1KASH✨ Wow. To my hero. My big brother. I love you with my whole entire being and I am so proud to be your little sister. This has been the hardest time of my life and I couldn’t have gotten through it without your spirit. I’m so grateful for the memories we made, the lessons you taught me and the love that you continuously showed me. The fact that you’re not here to annoy me, chat off my ear, snitch on me, laugh with me, send me stupid videos, dance with me, hug me, support me , plan my birthdays and tell me how proud you are of me breaks my heart. And I know it will never be fixed. But I have to learn to live with you not being here in the physical. I dedicate my life to you and I will do everything I can to honour you and honour your heart because you had a HUGE one. A real legend. Loved by so many. Friday was all you bro, the people dem love you and I know there’s nothing I can do to bring you back but I will do my upmost to keep your name and legacy alive. I will miss you so much but I know I have to be the sister you taught me to be, channel my inner you and ask myself what would Kash do. Mummy is so strong and shes doing what you told her to do. I can hear you in my ear and I pray that your voice stays with me forever. My big brother my protector my hero. Love you forever and ever and ever Kash. Love your sistrin. Kenedy🤍🕊️ #1kash

  1. Wash and go in 15s ⏱ How long do you usually keep your styles in for? This one lasted me 10 days before I really had to relieve my scalp 💆🏾‍♀️ I didn’t do anything differently but I have been consistent with my Innersense wash days ☝🏾 There was a time when I didn’t think my hair could “do” wash and gos but I’ve come a longgg way since then 😅 If you’re ready to join me on this journey, you can grab your own Indulge with Innersense Box via the link in bio along with my ⚡️ FREE GUIDE TO BUILDING A WASH AND GO ROUTINE ⚡️🙌🏾 #coilyhair #coilyhaircare #washandgohair #washandgo #type4hair #type4kinksandcoils

  2. Ayurveda is changing the GAME for me during lock down 😍This was taken a few months into my journey with @earth_elixir.haircare products! The definition and the hang I got from my braid out was incredible – and in the dead of winter too! I have been using their teas and hair oil consistently and a little of their chebe butter since November and I can't wait to show you how I've been getting on with them 🙌🏾Their founder, Tayshan has also been a big part of my entrepreneurship journey too so please show some love for me ❤️ If you could only pick one Ayurvedic herb for the rest of the year, what would it be and why?

  3. Henna has become a big part of my haircare routine. If it's not a gloss, it's in a tea. I wish I was better at remembering to wear gloves when handling it though 😅What are your favourite natural ingredients right now?

  2. ✨𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗜𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦 / 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛💪🏽✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗼? 👉🏽Protein temporarily strengthens your hair. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? 👉🏽 Your hair is made of the protein keratin. 👉🏽Keratin is a sulphur-rich protein with ‘disulphide bonds’ holding the protein strands together. Through normal wear and tear or use of chemicals and heat your hair strands get holes in them (damaged areas). Protein treatments fill in these holes with protein, so essentially it’s a patch job that boosts the strength of your hair. 👉🏽This is why people who colour & chemically treat their hair regularly use protein treatments (the top tier protein treatments are recommend for strengthening bleached & very damaged hair). 𝗧𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴? 👉🏽Stronger or weaker do not equal good or bad or vice versa. It totally depends on what your hair needs at the time. 👉🏽If you overuse protein or use strong protein treatments too often (when you may not need them if your hair isn’t damaged), you may find that your hair feels stiff, rough & may break. This is basically when you use protein treatments and the protein sticks to the outside of the hair shaft. This can result in your hair feeling brittle and rough to touch - some people refer to this as ‘protein sensitivity’. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀: ✅Opt for a lower strength of protein treatment to help reduce this feeling ✅Reduce the frequency you use protein treatments ✅Use a non-protein based conditioner after your protein treatment to remove that ‘rough’ feeling & soften your hair ✨𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆✨ I love using protein treatments weekly from the ‘middle tier’ as my hair is partly coloured & bleached. However, when my hair was first bleached, I used treatments from the ‘strong tier’ to help strengthen my hair & get my curls back. Sources in the comments.
