Charlie had a unique way of encouraging charitable debate among differing opinions, inspiring people to critically examine the beliefs they hold. In an era where mass indoctrination often influences the minds of youth, his example served as a pillar for those who dared to think logically and Biblically, encouraging them not to cower in fear of persecution. He excelled at this, he lived by this and died by this. He was killed for this! This for me, is a reminder of the cost of standing for Truth. May we remember in our righteous anger that we do not fight against flesh and blood, and that the gospel is the message we must spread amongst a crooked and depraved generation. Charlie left a legacy and an example of using your mind for the glory of God. May we raise more like him!

  2. Let’s discuss the phenomenon that is Taylor Swift. Regardless of what you feel about Taylor personally, this conversation isn’t solely about who she is, but if we can as Christian women proudly link arms with what she sings and stands for. How do we disciple our girls through cultural moments like these? I think we must do so soberly, don’t check your brain at the door because catchy songs seem fun. Overhearing girls as young as ten singing about being drunk in the back of a car should rattle us to our core. The music we sing matters, Scripture has a lot to say about Christians that sing and what we should sing. (Psalm 105:2, Psalm 101:1, Psalm 135:3, Ephesians 5:19 etc.) There is room for gray areas with a lot of secular music, please hear me on that. Not all secular songs promote sin (and drums or specific instruments aren’t sinful). However, we must consider the songs and the source, especially if we are allowing great influence over our daughters. Please remember to pray for Taylor, she is made in the image of God and is being worshipped in a way she was never created to be, let’s not be guilty of worshipping her along with the world. Give your girls better role models, and better yet encourage that part of them that seeks to worship the creation by pointing them to their creator.   2. They’re here!!!! Thursday, September 26, 2024, Miller Douglas born at 8:17pm •5lb 5oz •19” long and Chandler Brooks born at 8:26pm •5lb 9oz •20” long 👣👣 My blood pressure had been up. Thursday morning I called my midwife with my bp reading and she said “ok! we are having babies tonight.” I freaked out for a few minutes, took a few deep breaths, and in a few hours “the plan” was underway. We had booked a hotel for the following weekend, so we had to change reservations. We wanted to be near the hospital with a level 3 NICU in the event we needed them. (2 hours away) we checked in and around 4pm my midwife checked me and I was almost 5cm already. She gave me a little help along and the next few hours were lots of laughs, lots of herbs, lots of contractions, and finally lots of progress. When I knew I was close, I got in the birth pool. Had a couple of intense contractions, and then one long contraction that I later described as “at least 45 minutes long” and Miller came out in a push. We soaked him in for a couple of minutes when the second midwife Roxanne told Meka Chandler’s heart tones had dropped extremely low. So we went to the bed. Meka had to look for him so we could get him out, but my body knew because a contraction from the pits came and in 2 pushes, “baby b” aka Chandler burst into our world (breech). And it was all over. Just 4 hours of labor and our boys are here. 🩵🩵 There is so much more to the story, so many intricate details. But the truth is it was just miraculous, and I am so thankful God chose me to be the mama to these 2 precious boys.

  2. 3 weeks ago, I had a horse related freak accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. We *think* I may have been kicked in the head, and my brain hit the inside of my skull so hard it knocked me into the next universe for a little while. I don’t remember the accident, before the accident, or anything after the accident. There’s a span of 6 hours or so that’s completely gone, and before/after is fragmented, like photos or snapshots. I figured I’d bounce back from this right away like everything else, but I’m learning there’s more of a road to recovery than I expected. My mind/memory is still not quite back, in fact, I’ve fudged up a few things since then. But wherever I can I’m trying to give myself grace and patience. TD is completely my hero. He 4-wheeled out into the mountains to rescue me, and as soon as possible, he had me on keto, off caffeine, using blue light glasses and taking gobs of fish oil pills, among other things. I’ve got future scans and hyperbaric treatments on the horizon, but in the meantime I have my littles and my husband (who got the worst food poisoning I’ve EVER seen when we got home🥺) that need me, and I’m focused on giving them all of me that I can. Thank you so so so much to my husband and Jirr for rescuing me and driving Bambi and I home from Wyoming. To my mom for picking up my pieces and helping set me straight again. To my sister and her fiancé for loving me through ruining your engagement day😭. To my other sister for picking up my slack, helping me with my horses, and being my ride or die. And thank you to my family and my friends for being so supportive, checking in on me and making me feel so incredibly loved. And thank you to Bambi, for being the best girl. Honestly… I just cannot wait to get back in the saddle and melt all of this away. If you’re a horse girl, you get it.😉 And to everyone else- thank you for your everlasting support and love for our family, for following along on our little journey. I’ve made some wonderful connections through this journey and I’m just so grateful for it.💛

  1. Managing your household keeps the adversary from having any occasion for slander. 1 Timothy 5:14 is speaking specifically of young widows, but it is also true of married women. It says that the young widows should marry, bear children, and manage their households and by doing so they will give the adversary no occasion for slander. This is not a post disparaging women working outside the home. This is about women feeling pressure from society to find their passion and calling and that this pursuit is often at odds with having children. So once they do have children they feel this conflict that they are somehow not fulfilling their calling or passion or mission because they’re “stuck at home with the children.” What I am seeking to do is show that working at home is not being stuck. Working at home is not synonymous with ditching your passion. Working at home doesn’t equal missing your calling. Working at home IS a calling and it is where the Lord has called wives and mothers to do the work of His Kingdom. Let me tell you right now, if you are a mother, you are walking in God’s plan for your life. You are useful, what you do has meaning, and your gifts are being uniquely used to raise your children, teach them, and grow them into beautiful and wonderful individuals made in the image of God. That is the MOST noble of all stations and where your gifts are most needed and are being used daily.

  2. Romans 15:30-33 ✨ Sermon notes. Prayer isn’t therapy or a last resort when life feels out of control. It’s one of the most important things we can do. Prayer is God’s primary way of involving us in His work, and it should be the Christian’s first response. Prayer changes hearts, lives, and circumstances. It’s a partnership, like a walkie-talkie to God that gives us real access to Him though Christ by the Holy Spirit. Prayer is pleading boldly, persistently, even agonizing (the Greek word carries struggle, as in Isaiah 64: “Behold and visit this vine!”). We plead because we serve a God who hears and answers. Persistent prayer produces deep peace, not because life is easy, but because it flows from relationship with Him. We worship a praying God and we are called to pray. It’s not always easy but it’s profitable and worth it. One question stuck with me: If you’re not praying, do you really know Jesus? Prayer is the heartbeat of faith. I’m asking the Lord to help me turn to Him first in all things and to move through the prayers of His people. May we have boldness to plead, persistence to keep going, and peace that only comes from trusting in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 🤍

  3. Jeremiah 1-2 ✨ “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” (Jeremiah 1:5) I know God was speaking to Jeremiah here, but I can’t help but let those words sink deep into my own heart. God knew me. Before I ever took a breath. Before I ever sinned and made mistakes. Before I wandered. And still, He called me to be one of His children. And He didn’t just know about me. He formed me, on purpose and with intention. That kind of knowledge is intimate. It means I was never a mistake. It means my life was never an afterthought. It means God’s love and purpose for me run deeper than my own understanding. And the same goes for you. When you put your trust in Him as your Savior, all God’s promises are yours in Christ Jesus. But as I kept reading and got to Jeremiah 2, a painful shift was happening for Israel. God’s people traded their glory for what does not profit. They exchanged the fountain of Living Water for broken cisterns that can’t hold anything. That’s not just Israel’s story—it’s ours too. How many times have we run to empty things, expecting them to satisfy?
 How often have we forgotten the One who formed us, the only One who truly knows us? And yet, He still calls us back. This passage reminds us that God doesn’t give up on His people, even when they’ve given up on Him. He invites us to return. To remember who we are. And more importantly, whose we are. But the beauty of this passage isn’t just the conviction, it’s the invitation. God doesn’t abandon the ones He formed. He keeps calling us back, not out of anger, but out of love. He’s not looking for perfection. He’s after our hearts. May we rest in the truth that we are known. We can ask God to help us stop chasing broken cisterns and come back to the Living Water. He alone can satisfy our every longing and need. And He is waiting with open arms to receive us.

  2. Just watched the new Lilo & Stitch live-action movie and I truly think it’s one of Disney’s best adaptations yet. It stays so true to the heart of the original, while adding even more depth to Lilo and Nani’s story—Maia Kealoha is an absolute star as Lilo! I was a little worried about how the alien scenes would translate into live action (especially for younger kids), but they handled it in such a sweet and thoughtful way. My daughter was especially nervous about one of the original alien characters, and was so relieved when he didn’t show up—it made the whole experience way more enjoyable for her. This movie is a perfect pick for Canadian families looking for a feel-good film that’s full of heart, sisterhood, and Disney magic. Lilo & Stitch beautifully captures the meaning of ohana (family), and it’s one of those rare remakes that really works.   1. She’s here! We welcomed her quickly to our family on Saturday morning ❤️ Ayla Katherine Grace June 12th at 6:18am 7lbs 14oz (our smallest baby!) I was in early labour on Friday evening and wondered if things would pick up or slow down. I sent Mark out with friends because I wasn’t sure what would happen and just laid low in bed watching Parks and Rec and wrote a post for Instagram 😅 then I tried to go to sleep. I woke Mark up and called our doula at 2am on Saturday and went into heavy active labour at 4am. We had home births for both of our boys, but with only 1 midwife on call this weekend who was at the hospital in the middle of delivering another baby, we went to the hospital at 5am, my water broke at 6am and she was born a few minutes later. We left the hospital at 1:30pm, stopped to grab a coffee and a cookie from the shop (much needed 😂), and our boys just met her this morning. ❤️ It’s so weird to say “she” - and we couldn’t be happier to have her here. We are excited for this next season…. it should be fun and interesting 🤗😀

  3. He’s here ❤️ Mak Richard Shmelinski 9lbs 1oz (my biggest baby) Born on May 23rd at 4:21pm Our little man baby - with a full head of hair. 😅🥰 This has been such a special experience. I thought Ayla was our last baby, so to have one more birth/newborn makes my heart even more full. It really makes me realize just how special and sacred of a time this is. This pregnancy was much different than my first 3 and pushed me to my limits and mental capacity in many ways. This birth experience was also very different and much more intense — I am legitimately so thankful and in awe of what I was able to do but only with the help of my amazing support team. I believed for a few very specific things with this birth, and while it looked very different getting to that point that I thought (typical), I am so thankful for how the hope I had carried me through a lot of unknowns and intensity. Our last little baby, and our final home birth. ❤️ I really love how different experiences in life are always teaching us new things. A lot of the time it just takes time to really process through — but if you really lean and don’t rush the processing time (which can often feel uncomfortable), you’ll come out the other side with growth and clarity. My very random ramblings from a 1.5 day postpartum mom 😂❤️ This is our family of 6!

  2. Meet Little Live Pets Ouchies! 🐶❤️‍🩹 This is Cooper and he is the softest, most adorable retriever pup. He makes and has over 50 sounds and reactions that will help your children know when he is happy, injured and needing help, or healed and ready to play. You will be able to watch Cooper heal after his cast is put on, along with all the love and kisses, and see him happy and ready to go for a walk. Callen and Cayden love how interactive Cooper is and the ability to help him heal. Cooper comes inside a puppy carrier that can transform into a vet tray, along with bandages and a magic cast. With a bowl of water, the boys were able to take and wet the bandages to wrap around the split creating a real cast. Once dry, it was time to let the creativity flow by decorating the cast. After decorating, the boys gave Cooper all the pets, kisses, and love and we watched him transform from sad and limping to happy and healed. We were able to remove the cast and watched Cooper begin walking happily on his own – proving love heals all ouchies! A special thank you to @moosetoys for sending the boys Cooper!   3. Looking for quick and easy everyday meals without all the nitty gritty? The versatility of each @johnsonville product allows you to come up with or create a family favorite in under 30 minutes for dinner; so tonight, we are making Brat Hoagies! Items Needed: 1 Green Bell Pepper 1 White Onion (We used ½ of an onion) 1 Package of Johnsonville Smoked Brats Mozzarella Cheese Slices (1-2 slices per sandwich) Hoagie Rolls Olive Oil (to add to skillets/pans before food) Seasonings of your Choice (We only added salt + pepper) Start by heating two skillets/pans on medium heat, then prepping and slicing your bell pepper and onion into slices. Oil your pan, add veggies, and seasoning (we did salt/pepper to our liking) and mix with a spatula over 8-10 minutes until softened. While the veggies cook, slice the bratwurst in halves, add oil to the pan and place brats into the pan. Allow one minute to pass, then flip brats to the other side and allow one more minute. Move veggies to the top of the brats then add 2-3 cheese slices on top of veggies. Allow cheese to melt and cut hoagie rolls open. Using a spatula, move your brat along with veggies and cheese to your hoagie. ENJOY! 🤤 We love that we are able to shop for Johnsonville at our local grocery stores, which makes meal planning even easier, especially when you are in a rush.   3. I honestly wish I hadn’t been so much of a people pleaser in this space before the last election. Would it have made much of a difference? Probably not, but I regret feeling like I had to hide who I was voting for because some people might judge me. I think if anything it would have helped others feel less alone. Maybe it would have prompted some good conversations and thoughts. Maybe it would have allowed others to see that you don’t have to let one single issue become what you vote around and perhaps the current echo chamber you are in doesn’t give you the fullest picture of that issue. And while I can’t go back in time, I can move forward in honesty and kindness. Politics is a VERY divisive topic right now. I generally like to avoid divisive topics…so this is good practice for me! 😉 To share my beliefs in a kind way. To invite respectful dialogue. To say we don’t all have to agree, but treating one another with basic dignity and respect is not optional. We are all in this together whether we like it or not. ✌️

For complete transparency know that all of the curriculum, supplies and books you see here were all purchased by me with a monthly budget because everything adds up if I don’t take advantage of sales through out the year 😬 I am a regular homeschooling mama that works part time to cover some of the costs of homeschooling. I am blessed to have a job that I can work from home because my boss is super lenient and forgiving (it’s my husband, he’s my boss 🤭). But he likes to remind me I’m actually HIS boss sooo a win is a win 🏆 Anyways, here are some REALISTIC and PRACTICAL tips that have worked for me in providing the best and well rounded education to my kiddos without breaking the bank: ✨ take advantage of sales. Avoid paying whole price if you can. ✨ if you have multiple kids and planning on reusing materials, don’t write directly on consumables. If you have to, see if you can purchase a digital version so you can print for future kiddos. ✨ if you have an ink efficient printer, invest in digital copies. Usually it’s cheaper and you can save a lot of money by printing and prepping on your own. ✨ shop local thrift stores for books. I have found so many good ones by doing this. 80% of my books in my home library consist of books I’ve thrifted over the years. ✨ thrift books, abe books and eBay are all great sources to buy used books. eBay is my favorite place because they usually have buy 3 get 1 free and each book is usually priced at $3 ✨ check out marketplace on FB for gently used curriculum or books. Some mamas are very generous as to how they price their items as long as you assume the shipping costs. Mamas, did I miss anything?
