  2. A lot of talk and anticipation leading up to this event. I feel very proud of myself and was happy to exhibit the past three years of dedication to skiing and the hard work to become a skier in my own way. I did what I came to do, and I wanted to ski a strong composed run, no matter what. The progression Piper and Veronica showed out there is monumental. After getting my first runs in Corbet’s out of the way, I’m definitely hungry to compete again. Also— the snowboarding ladies made it look too fun 👀 might have to try dropping in sideways next year.   3. The last several months have been painful. And empty. I miss my son. I can’t stop thinking about how helpless I felt as his life slipped away. It broke me in a way that can never be repaired. All I know if that I’m doing my best. I guess sometimes that is the most we can expect from ourselves, just to wake up every morning and keep trying. Then hopefully someday the trying turns to thriving again. Through all of this Skylar has been such a light and joy. Chris has been a rock. Being outside together has been the best therapy. The one thing I know is that our little family is strong. Kai fought so hard and we will fight hard to honor him and live the life that he wasn’t able to have.

  2. A friend recently reached out about tackling an Adirondack Hiking Challenge, and we decided on the @lakeplacid9er challenge. Mt. Jo was the perfect starting point. We were lucky to have a beautiful day for hiking, with the fall colors at their peak. We took the long trail up and the short trail down, a 2.9-mile route with a gradual ascent suitable for various skill levels. This hike was an excellent introduction to Adirondack hiking for my friend.

  3. Have you heard of the @adirondackrailtrail ? We didn’t know much about this trail till we moved to the region this summer. This is a 34 mile trail connecting Lake Placid to Tupper Lake. It passes through Saranac Lake & Lake Clear. The last 9 miles to Tupper Lake is still under construction but should be open this year. It is designed to be used year round for biking, walking, running,skiing and snowmobiling. These photos are from a small section near Saranac Lake. Make sure to check out the @adirondackrailtrail to learn more about this awesome trail! P.S it will be super beautiful in the fall! 🍁🍂🍁🍂
