  1. I don't fall very often, but when I do I make it count. Before you start telling me how to buckle my helmet properly, it was clipped on securely but got ripped off in the fall. The plastic clip snapped off the strap. Any number of bad luck reasons why that happened but in the end I just got lucky. I was completely fine and skied miles out of the backcountry afterwards. I've put this clip online before but never on Instagram because of the 💩 storm I figured it could cause when it inevitably gets subjected to the masses. So...   2. Only a couple more months till we're back to our regularly scheduled program. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 for another solid winter. This is easily one of the best lines @mammothmountain to score fresh. Just gotta take speed over the air and aim closer to the tree than the rock. The lift tower way down there is a good spot to line up with. The ol hike up from chair 10 proved to be the lucky choice this day.   2. A lot of talk and anticipation leading up to this event. I feel very proud of myself and was happy to exhibit the past three years of dedication to skiing and the hard work to become a skier in my own way. I did what I came to do, and I wanted to ski a strong composed run, no matter what. The progression Piper and Veronica showed out there is monumental. After getting my first runs in Corbet’s out of the way, I’m definitely hungry to compete again. Also— the snowboarding ladies made it look too fun 👀 might have to try dropping in sideways next year. We found out late in pregnancy that he has a large and fast growing tumor that is wrapped around his aorta and displacing vital organs. After delivery he will stabilize for a day or two while a team of specialists figure out how to proceed. We are on our knees praying and believing that this little fighter will be given the chance to live a full and healthy life.

  3. The last several months have been painful. And empty. I miss my son. I can’t stop thinking about how helpless I felt as his life slipped away. It broke me in a way that can never be repaired. All I know if that I’m doing my best. I guess sometimes that is the most we can expect from ourselves, just to wake up every morning and keep trying. Then hopefully someday the trying turns to thriving again. Through all of this Skylar has been such a light and joy. Chris has been a rock. Being outside together has been the best therapy. The one thing I know is that our little family is strong. Kai fought so hard and we will fight hard to honor him and live the life that he wasn’t able to have.
