Biodegradable bamboo bestek is niet duurzaam als je ook gewoon een lepel die je al hebt, kan meepakken voor je lunch. Een totebag is niet duurzaam als je er 20 van aan je kapstok hebt hangen. Een solid shampoo bar is niet duurzaam als je ze niet zo graag gebruikt en daardoor in de schuif laat liggen. De conscious lijn van een fast fashion winkel is niet duurzaam. Punt. Je lost het probleem van overconsumptie niet op door extra consumptie. Wat kan je wél doen? 👌🏻gebruiken wat je al hebt 🤞🏼swappen, lenen of tweedehands zoeken 🙏🏼Als je écht iets nodig hebt: sleep on it. Tenzij al je wc papier op is, kan je aankoop waarschijnlijk wel wachten. Geef jezelf twee weken om naar een duurzamer alternatief te zoeken. Heb je het dan nog steeds nodig? Zoek dan, als je wil, gericht naar kortingen ipv iets kopen ómdat het in korting is. (Onze wasmachine ging meer dan 2 weken geleden stuk wat best onhandig is met drie kinderen. Dus de verleiding was groot om meteen nieuwe te bestellen (de dag erna gratis aan huis geleverd, nieuwe garantie.. weet je wel) maar door de aankoop uit te stellen hebben we nu toch een goeie tweedehandse gevonden. En de verkopers willen hem óók gewoon naar ons huis brengen. Veel goedkoper én duurzamer.👌🏻 Ik weet dat iedereen die hier meeleest, die tips al wel kent. Maar Instagram is zo ‘n gekke plek vol reclame en shop-hauls dat een beetje tegengewicht misschien toch fijn is? #duurzaamleven #buylesschoosewell #sustainablefashion Btw Je kan Amazon prime days ook vervangen door ‘solden’ of ‘black Friday’.. deals zijn nooit echt een deal als je het item eigenlijk niet echt nodig had.

This week is #fashionrevolutionweek, a movement on a mission to make the fashion industry safer and fairer for its workers and our planet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fashion Revolution Week marks the anniversary of the collapse of Rana Plaza building on the 24th April 2013. In this tragic event more than 1100 garment workers lost their lives and another 2500 were injured. The victims were primarily young women. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @fash_rev campaigns for safety, transparency, equality, fair wages, sustainability and amplifying of marginalised voices within the fashion industry, to name a few of the core issues. This is why we ask “Who Made My Clothes?” and “What’s In My Clothes?”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At Care Wears, ethics have always been at the very core of what I do. From the very beginning, I have only used ethically and sustainably produced garments certified by organisations such as @fairwearfoundation, @peta, and @globalorganictextilestandard among others. This ensures safety and ethical practices within the supply chain. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These garments are then screen printed by myself with designs made by me. All the finishing touches, like packing your orders or sewing neck labels and attaching tags is also all done by hand by myself 💕 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The goal for the future of Care Wears is to grow in the most sustainable way possible and doing what I can to bring about positive change in the fashion industry.   2. These are just a few examples of Racism in the UK. Racism comes in a variety of forms, some of which are harder to see than others . In their recent study @clpe.org.uk found that in 2018 Only 4% of all the children's books published that year featured main characters who are Black or minority ethnic, in 2017 the figure was even lower, at just 1%. Now know that 25% of pupils in UK primary schools are of minority ethnic origins (33% inc White non British) . At Russell group Universities White Academics earn on average £52,000 whilst Black academics earn only £38,000✖️ . In UK schools most pupils are not taught about Britain's colonial past, the transatlantic slave trade, the contribution of Black soldiers in WW1 & 2 & positive contributions of Black historical figures are left unmentioned . Black and minority ethnic workers make up 12% of the U.K. Workforce, so why is it the case that they make up only 6% of management positions . A study was carried out by experts based at The University of Oxford where they applied to 3200 jobs, randomly varying the minority background of job applicants while keeping their skills, qualifications and work experience constant. The study found that applicants from Western Europe and the US were received just as well as those in the majority group, whereas those from the Middle East and North Africa were most strongly discriminated against . Launching today is my new brand HUMANS WE LOVE, finally, today! 9 months officially working on this nearly every day - and 9 months before that I wrote the plan for HumansWeLove.com as a luxe ethical jewelry brand (with some vegan gowns too fine maybe i guess) 😆hoping to transfer my skills in ethical fashion to ethically sourced gemstone & recycled gold engagement rings. BUT, when I hated my actual jewelrymaking class and, my biz plan didn’t win a female entrepreneurship grant I’d need for the starting inventory - I realized there might be a part of the plan I COULD start: vegan zero waste gowns - sourcing Deadstock, fabric remnants, vintage trim, and handmade elements by female artist entrepreneurs supporting themselves and those they love, around the world, and then bringing designs to life that incorporate all of these unique and wondrous elements. And to my surprise - it was fun, really fun. I could take everything i had learned about each element of the process (concept, sourcing, development, hiring, business modeling, branding, website design) and utilize it but with the many hard lessons I had learned. I could choose to create again this time with a very important understanding, that I am limited. In learning so much about my very tangible limits as a human and entrepreneur - I have this time chosen to create this brand with those limits in mind to create a TINY & SLOW business model that feels sustainable and allows for me to have a sustainable life (🤞🏼!) while making the impact I can for the earth, animals and artists. More soon! Found ✌🏼 cute spots with vegan burgers including this handmade mashed potatoes burger for 5 euros by @paninotecadapoldosiena so very yummy!! 7. If you’re flying out of Rome, @autogrill just created this amazing all vegan WOW burger with vegan cheese, bacon and a turmeric bun it’s so good 😍🍔 Found these with zero Italian skills 🙈 scouring all the sites (happy cow, Yelp, google etc) asking everyone and checking irl menus so if you’ve found other spots pls share below!! Not the easiest city for vegan but everything was sooo yum (+ PRETTIEST outdoor seating!) If you stop in this bella città piena di musica hope this helps un po 😘😘♥️ miss you already #Siena
