  2. Lately, I’ve heard the words “you’ve changed.” Mostly from people who don’t really know me that well. And the truth is… I have changed. I’ve changed A LOT. And I would never go back. 🤍 2019 → 2026. Seven years apart. In that first clip, I was 216 pounds, struggling to lift my own body weight let alone that dumbbell. I was uncomfortable, tired, and nowhere near the strongest version of myself…. but I was trying. And looking back, that’s the part that matters most. I didn’t transform overnight. There was no perfect routine, no straight line, and definitely no quick fix. It was seven years of showing up. Falling off and starting again. Learning my body. Building strength. Changing my habits. Choosing myself over and over again. So yes, I’ve changed. I’ve changed the way I take care of myself. I’ve changed what I allow into my life. I’ve changed my priorities. I’ve changed my habits. I’ve changed my mindset. I’ve changed the way I speak to myself. I’ve changed what I believe I’m capable of. And I’m proud of that change. That woman in 2019 had no idea where one decision to start would take her. She didn’t know that one day she’d actually love working out. That movement would become part of who she is. I opened the window and realized it was the first Adhan (Azan) of the day aka the Islamic call to prayer.   3. I always say yes anytime a local invites me to experience something ❤️ We were hiking Big Brother Waterfall in Naryn when we spotted a Kyrgyz family enjoying a picnic along the river. They waved us over, led us across the river, invited us to sit on their beautiful traditional Kyrgyz blankets, and immediately started filling our plates. We shared barbecued lamb cooked by the grandpa (hands down the best meat I had in Kyrgyzstan 🤌🏽), fresh Kyrgyz bread, tea, and even learned how to eat kuyruk—a chunk of firm, solidified sheep tail fat that’s traditionally served with bread. I thought it was cheese. 😆 They were so warm and welcoming, even though we didn’t speak the same language. The baby even handed us freshly picked flowers she had gathered. 🌼 This was one of my favorite memories from Kyrgyzstan. ❤️ Rakhmat to this incredible family for showing us the warmth and hospitality of Kyrgyz culture. 🙏🏽 #Kyrgyzstan #CentralAsia #CulturalExperience #AdventureTravel #LocalCulture

  2. This race wasn’t what I imagined and that’s the hardest part to accept. I wasn’t even sure I’d be somewhat ready for race day. I had to stop all activity for 2 weeks to give my knee time to recover and even that didn’t feel like enough. I showed up to the start line anxious and scared to even start. I was so disappointed with myself when I started at an easy pace and my body wouldn’t settle. My knee pain was dull and constant, mile after mile, and only got worse. I went into this half marathon with months of training, discipline, and big expectations & by mile 2, I knew this race was going to look very different than I planned and that was super humbling. I had to go slower, more intentional, and with something to prove to myself. It wasn’t about a PR anymore, it was simply about not quitting and finishing. Not every race is pretty and not every finish is fast, see you next year @runrocknroll 🌟❤️‍🩹 Couldn’t have done it without my husband @ernesto.c137 ,being my “first finish line” at the 6 mile mark and meeting up with me a few miles later.   1. Stronglifting Recap 🏋🏽‍♀️ I am still on such a high from this meet! While I didn’t hit any lifetime PR’s I did hit FOUR postpartum PR’s! I am so proud of myself for what I accomplished at this meet. Squat 275lbs Bench 135lbs Deadlift 315lbs Military Press 85lbs Chin Up +35lbs (158lb BW for a total of 193lbs) Hip Thrust 550lbs I am happy that I was able to compete and do all 6 lifts despite my back injury. This was my first meet not coming home with any medals and I feel humbled and motivated to keep going and get back to my strongest self. Thank you @bretcontreras1 for being the greatest coach.
