  2. I think a lot of you can relate so I’m just gonna leave this here. Ever since starting my fitness journey, I’ve met soooo many strong and beautiful women. You always only see the finished product- not every struggle, the pain or the losses. I started working out for exactly this reason. Because I was confused. I was in pain. Heartbroken. I was LOST. So here’s a little story: I got a gym membership while I was in a 5 year relationship (not my current one). I had finished school, cheer wasn’t there anymore and I needed to do something to move my body. My boyfriend at the time didn’t understand that. The day I got home and showed him my key tag to the new gym I signed up at (it was @chuzefitness 🥲) and he had one thing to say: “why do you need to go to the gym” … 🚩 🚩 I was deep into a 5 year relationship when that happened and just like that it ended- because I chose myself. It’s not easy to talk about but it’s definitely necessary to share because I know there are people out there who have either experienced the same thing or sadly are currently in it. I can’t even tell you how life changing it was. It wasn’t an easy choice but it was so worth it. Yes, I was in pain for a while. Honestly to this day I can tell you that I am still healing but I know I am so much better because of it. My life is mine. Everything. Happens. For. A. Reason. I hope this helps you. Keep pushing. Keep grinding and remember: You are worth it 🤍 #dedicationonly #fitnessmotivation #gymgirl #bodybuilder #wolfpak #explorepage #explore #fitness #motivation #juststart #gymtherapy

  1. The 6 movement patterns you should include in your program. Movement has been part of our lives since we were born. Have you ever seen a baby do a perfect squat? You may not realize how training is part of our everyday life & how restricting those movement patterns can cause damage to our body. Here are the 6 movement patterns we should include in our training program. 🔸️Squat- Sitting down, weather its a chair or toilet, we are made to squat. During sports you may see it before a basketball shot. (Exercises: jumping squats, box squats, goblet squats, overhead squats) 🔸️Bending - The hip hinge. We bend over numerous times a day. We hinge when picking up an object or even to broad jump.  (Exercises: Good Mornings, Deadlift, hip thrust, swings) 🔸️Lunge - Unlocks better movement quality. Everytime we get into our cars, or step over things, we step forward into a split stance. Athletes can change direction using side lunges. (Exercises: Forward lunge, multidirectional lunges, side lunge) 🔸️Pull - Include Vertical and Horizontal pulling. Horizontal pulling will help our shoulders become stronger, healthier and more stable. We pull doors or when we bring an object towards us. (Exercises: Pull ups, Seated rows, Barbell Rows) 🔸️Twisting (Rotation) - The most overlooked in my opinion. When we throw a ball or reach across our body we are Twisting.  Anti rotation is as important in my opinion. (Exercises: Cable twist, Woodchops, Pallof press) 🔸️Push - There's also Vertical (shoulders)and Horizontal (chest) Push. Lifting things over our head and getting up from the floor are some examples we use this pattern. (Exercises  Push up, DB overhead press, Cable press)

  1. Last night Kelly and I went to our first couple’s therapy session. As much as I love love, I know first hand that love is hard. It takes work. It takes commitment to yourself and your growth… and THEN commitment to the other person. I have been divorced once and still love my ex-husband for everything we were able to love each other through and teach each other in our youthful years together. I’ll be grateful for my time with Gabe for my whole life and think of him fondly. I was engaged a second time; and while he wasn’t able to accept at the time that the decision I made would be best for us both in the long run; I know that he will find the right type of love for him someday and thank me for making the uncomfy choice for us to call it quits. He deserves that. I am no expert in love. I didn’t grow up with the best model for what I think love is truly, beautifully, capable of. But I am also unafraid to walk away from something that I know isn’t meant for me… because I KNOW this world is full of love, in abundance. For all of us. My ability to believe in love despite it all is something I’m really grateful for and exceptionally proud of. I’ll give up on love the day I am buried and I’ll die trying to find it. Loving you, Kelly, has been joyful. It has been kind to my inner child. It has made me feel beautiful in moments where I, myself, couldn’t look in the mirror and see what you see. It has also come with its recent challenges that I cannot ignore or deny when boasting about our love. (I’ll never be able to authentically love anyone without being honest about the big picture.. and that’s just me.) You are far from perfect, and my soul has had to meet you there to say “it’s ok, I am imperfect, too”. But I do love you. Through it all. So much. Love is so beautiful. And some people say love shouldn’t be hard. But that will never be true, in my humble opinion. Life is full of dichotomies where things are hard one way or another… you just have to choose your hard. Happy Valentine’s Day to my handsome, kind, funny, adorably nerdy choice for love. Thanks for always being willing to grow, evolve… and then love me back. 🤍
